I stayed in the hotel for 7 days and it was a great experience. The concierge and security staff are available around the clock. You will find the reception staff welcoming you kindly. All hotel staff are always smiling and they will memories your name from the first time, which maes me happy, they are also very helpful and always offer you help. The food is good, and you can ask any dish from the chef if it is not available in the buffet. The cleanliness of the rooms is excellent, and the room service is available throughout the day and their service is fast. The location of the hotel is strategic, with a view of the Nile River. This is all what I can think of at the moment but it's a good experience and makes the hotel among my future choices.

Bad placement, the boats in front the hotel plays music until 3 am and sounds like they have a loudspeaker in the room. The reception and the rooms gives you the feeling of a maximum 2 stars hotel. Internet dose nor work 90% of the time and when it works, it is very very slow. Always problem with the cards that opens the room elevator stoped working a couple of times. Everything g is prices like a 4 stars but everything is no more than 2 stars. The personal is however very honest, friendly and service minded. Never more again.

The service was really excellent and everyone was really friendly!! The room was very neat and had a nice Nile view! We tried their breakfast multiple times and each time they had varieties of food and it was tasty! Especially the Ta3meya! I really recommend it!! And definitely will visit it each time we come to Cairo.

We along with about 20 other guest had a really bad experience. The bathrooms were a mess, one thing or the other was broken. The front desk stuff did not help what so ever. I will call them and ask them personally for three days in a row for an extra blanket but they kept saying we are bringing it and never did. That seemed to be the attitude with everything, they will never complete a request. To add to the frustration, the room key cards were a nightmare. They will either work in the rooms or the elevator, not both. Hence we will have to continuously run up and down to keep reactivating the card. This was the problem with every guest, I had the "key card nightmare" discussion with literally every stranger that rode the elevator.

Very bad experience. It doesn't deserve to be within the 5 or 4 stars.High price comparing to the service. I experienced the following: 1- I booked a room for marriage anniversary and we asked them to arrange a good room for couples but They did’t care. 2- they don't care about clean. They don’t change towels, and don't bring shampoo or bathing tools even if you request this they pretend that they forget. 3- Breakfast is very poor, and bad quality. There is no options for juice only one type, Orange juice and it’s not good taste. 4- There is no options for breakfast. We spent 5 days and everyday they have the same food. 5- Staff are not professional in dealing and serving. 6- personally, i will never think of staying in it again.

This is not my first stay in the hotel, great food at the restaurant with an excellent service. The cafe on the rooftop is very nice, I had my delicious dinner. WIFI is working probably at the hotel, also the gym equipments are working probably. The outside pool was nice. I really enjoyed my stay at your hotel. Thank you for your great hospitality.

Extremely poor customer service- their bellboy yanked and damaged our bag while we watched in horror. Complaints were responded to by an "internal investigation" which, predictably, revealed that the bag was already broken upon arrival and that we were simply "mistaken." The lady at the desk went so far as to say, "How do I know it wasn't already broken by you?" Offers to send the bag for repairs were made- on a chargeable basis of course- and with no guarantees of any kind. By this point in our stay (day 2) the brazen callousness has become predictable. Other glitches includes us having booked a double bed but given a twin with the promise of rectifying the error the next day. This, however, didn't happen till 3.30pm the next day despite them making us pack our bags at 8.30am in anticipation of changing rooms. The food is truly terrible and as others have pointed out, the rooms are extremely noisy. True, it is mostly city noise, (which I'm told is much quieter than the party boats at the river facing rooms) but this does impact quality of sleep. The hotel is also undergoing renovations, which they don't mention unless asked. We definitely won't be returning. Edited to add: The painfully slow internet has now sputtered to a stop. An engineering issue, we're told.

Four of us stayed here in 2 Rooms for 4 nights from 22 Oct till 25 Oct. Rooms are clean , spacious and nice. We got a free upgrade to Nile river view rooms from the city view rooms we had booked. The view especially in the evening/night is beautiful. The breakfast buffet is amazing and has good options for vegetarians as well. As we had to checkout around 4am in the morning on 25 Oct, we requested for a packed breakfast box and they obliged to keep it ready for us.( It has juice, salad and an apple) The roof top restaurant has limited options for vegetarians but the lentil soup was very nice and the view from roof top is very nice.

Great location. Clean spacious rooms. Better than pictures online ( which is rare for hotels). All great staffs. Enjoyed my random chats with them in elevators , hallways etc. Excellent service from Omar, our housekeeping personnel at 4th floors. He picked up our routine and knew what to refill and time to clean. Great work from him. Lots of kudos to the gentlemen helping us print on the 2nd April night about 8pm. He was the only front office staff and had to handle many check ins alone yet he patiently worked with us to sort out the email issues and get things printed for our travel, full of smiles!!. I wish I caught his name but the staff don’t have a name tag and he was too busy for me to interrupt and ask. We were aware of the party boat noise hence took city view. There was no noise on this side. Wi-Fi like all places in Egypt is generally Zero. Don’t dream of using hotel WiFi for any purpose. Get a mobile data plan though data finishes super fast here. Breakfast option is fair enough. Machine coffee quality is surprisingly really good for all the drinks. The guest relation officer called to ask if everything was ok with our stay and offered a late check out when we requested. That was a nice touch! There is ATM in lobby which makes it easy. There are also interconnecting rooms so that would be useful for families.

I was here for 7 days, overall the experience was below average, if I was booking Novotel would have not been my first choice. The room was very mediocre. There was a funny smell when I checked in. The bedding was ripped, i adidnt feel comfortable to sleep in the sheets, i slept on top of the bed and used a towel as cover up and a tower to put on the pillows. The bathroom was not clean I used two packets of sanitizing wipes to clean the bathroom. The couch was not comfortable. The overall decor of the room is so dated and old it doesn't emulate any form of luxury. Hotel comfort and luxury adds to the experience of the visit. The internet was horrible. 5th floor never had internet, had to constantly call reception to request the reset the router. For a business trip we expect high speed wifi so work can be done. The service was ok. The staff are friendly. However your staff need to be able to understand and speak English if you want the hotel to attract international guests. I found it difficult to get explanations or assistance. The food was good. Very tasty. However portions are soo large. But also expensive. Ability to get around was good bcz it was central so that was good. It took me some time to settle in. I was not very happy overall. For the price we pay per night and the quality it does not correlate. Either renovate the entire hotel and have a major change or find new management.

The location is good and the staff are all helpful and friendly. I enjoyed the food also. Kanowi and the others from housekeeping did a good job keeping things clean. Overall I would recommend staying here if you want a clean hotel in Cairo that isn’t too expensive.

    1. No internet connection on 3rd floor, no one attempted to correct it for 4 days. Was their for work, so major issue. 2. Lift not working and adjustments made poor, i had to take stairs most of time and lift also sometimes went in wrong direction. 3. Rooms were good and cleaning staff was good, one particular reception staff was rude in approach, other reception staff were good. 4. Food and breakfast average.

Overall experience was not good. Only the location of this hotel is good. Otherwise internet was not, even the YouTube was not able to run. Tab water was very slow in room. If you are on work trip. You don't consider this hotel. You need to rest properly in night for next day work. But on the river bank there were lot of music boat and clubs they made noise.

We had a Nile facing room and the noise from the party boats was unbelievable. It was loud all night but we were eventually able to go to sleep... until 3am when, until 4:30, the music became louder than you would think possible from how far away it was. The hotel itself was not awful, but our bathroom had issues (the toilet didn't flush and the sink drained very slowly). The cherry on top was when we were charged for water bottles at check out, even though the water was the only thing in the fridge with no price on it and could therefore be reasonably thought to be free in a city where you shouldn't drink the tap water In the hotel's favor, the proximity to the museum and the square was great

This hotel has not been renovated in a very long time and shows poor upkeep. It is one of the worst-kept Novotel hotels I have stayed at. I have stayed with at least four others. The restaurant's food quality is mediocre at best. We had pizza for dinner, which was worse than a take-out pizza. The hotel restaurant charges a mysterious 12.5% "service charge" for restaurant meals, and even the food manager did not know what the service charge was for. It was not a tip for the wait staff. So what was it for? He implied it was for the privilege of eating in a mediocre restaurant with overpriced food. The Jacuzzi only has cold water, and hot water starts whenever the jacuzzi is repaired sometime near November 1st, 2022, when it is the fall season. In the meantime, the jacuzzi is out of commission. The staff are friendly enough, but the hotel policies do not meet guests' needs.

There is an extremely loud late-night party boat directly across from the hotel. It is currently 3 am on a Tuesday, and they are so loud it shakes the windows. No way to get rest. Last night, there was a wedding party on the roof of the hotel. They were playing loud music until 11:30 pm. So it was loud music from all directions. Alcohol isn't sold or allowed in the hotel. We asked if we could bring personal alcohol on the roof. Initially the manager agreed, but after 5 minutes they kicked us out. The staff are friendly. The room was clean. The breakfast buffet is decent. The bed and pillows were comfortable. They only have one coffee machine for the breakfast restaurant, so you will have to wait in line for coffee. It would be great if they also offered brewed coffee in a large kettle. The elevator is tiny. Only 4 people fit in each elevator with no luggage. I sometimes had to wait multiple times for space on the elevator.

We love the hotel, it was a nice place with good service and best location. We got a suite for 4 and it was big enough to accommodate my 2 kids activities. The interior of the hotel is a bit consumed but it was clean. The breakfast was also good.

If you are not a guest at the hotel, there is a 400 Egyptian pound limit per person which is fair. The food is very mediocre. Menu is pretty boring with pizza, pasta, etc. There were six of us. Two of us got sick that night from the salad I think. We ordered mix grills and salad so one of those is at fault. I threw up all night. Would I go back? Definitely not. There are so many other nice places nearby and you don’t have to risk stomach issues.

The experience was outstanding, everyone was very welcoming The view over the Nile was awesome, the music and the lights at night my kids loved it. One thing we regret was not long enough to stay there. From the time we arrived and Mr. Osama was very helpful and yes wifi was bad but he provided a hub which helped me to work remotely Thank you to the team and everyone

Beside the greatest location and the best view of the Nile, we had such a great experience by the pool. It's very cozy, and clean with a cutelittle jacuzzi.the staff is very friendly and they all made us feel at home. We will definitely come back for the shrimp cocktail and the out of this world chicken wings. Also don't miss ordering the oriental mix grill and the salmon with creamed spinach and finish it off with a classy tiramisu dessert presented in style making you want more and more It's valuefor money!...... Special thanks to Rami Nabhan, the rooms division manager and Fouad, the friendliest waiter ever, and Mirna the very dynamic and active guest relation . Lastly chapeau to the GM Abdel Latif Gabriel who is the maestro of this orchestra. Particularly for strictly respecting covid precautions. We highly recommend Novotel Cairo El Borg. Looking forward to the next time 🙂

We stayed in this hotel, two separate times with a Nile cruise in between. Both times we stayed on the River side. I had read the reviews prior to coming to Cairo and saw that many people complained about the noise on the Riverside with the boats that seem to party until late in the evening (early morning). I did not think that it would be that big of a deal, but sure enough on our second night here - which happened to be Valentine’s Day - they had the music going extremely loud until at least four in the morning. It was pretty hard to sleep through that even with air plugs. All of the other nights the music was much less intense and did not go as long. So I don’t know if that was just an unusual case for us. The Riverside is very beautiful to see the activity out on the Nile. And thankfully the noise has not been a problem since. The service at the hotel is great. The food cost are reasonable. The rooftop restaurant serves good food for a good price and has excellent views of the city.. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are clean. My only complaint might be that they do not actually vacuum the rooms like you might see in the United States but they sweep the rooms out with a broom, so I don’t know how real clean the carpet is. But I do not feel that the rooms are dirty by any means. This is a place I would stay again. I know that some of the reviews complained about the construction out in front of the hotel but this did not seem to be an issue in my opinion. The breakfast buffet in the morning was delicious and had a wide variety. Food types to meet any persons taste requirements. The location is perfect. Close to some nice restaurants and Tahrir Square.

Here on a 5 day business trip. Great location for exploring the city, rooftop view along the Nile is great. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. Housekeeping missed some parts, and the music on the street (Nile view again) was loud and went on until daylight, which made sleeping challenging. (Update after 3 nights): after discussing complaints with the staff, was offered a room at the backside. This was much quieter and more comfortable at night. In the meantime, the staff has gone out of their way to ensure I have a pleasant stay. Room is kept in top condition and staff has helped with wifi, little errands. The only reason I don’t 5-star it, is that it does not serve alcohol, and I really crave for a cold beer. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Novotel Cairo El Borg breakfast experience was superb. The staff were exceptionally accommodating for my wife and children making us all feel at home. The food was fresh, varied and delicious. Best omelettes we have had! And the selection of fruits and breads were wonderful. Thank you for a great experience. Yasmin was absolutely brilliant

The staff are really wonderful and helpful, The rooms are spacious and the bed is so comfortable. The breakfast room has a wonderful assortment of meals to choose from and the staff are always there to help, and nothing is too much trouble. The crepes, pancakes and omelettes are amazing. Food range definitely covers all tastes.

Having endured a horrible night at a noisy hotel in Downtown, the Novotel saved us from a second sleepless night. A good job, as we had started arguing with each other! So, thank you Novotel. A great price for clean, modern, quiet rooms with everything you need. Staff attentive and pleasant. Nice cafe on the top floor too.

I had the most wonderful experience in Novotel hotel. First, I got an upgrade to a suite when I checked in and the hotel was super clean and peaceful. The bed is super comfy that I promise you that you will ask for a late check out if you aren't careful cos it makes sleep so sweet. Let me specially thank Heidi, the receptionist, she is such an Angel. She was super nice and graceful to me. Breakfast was perfect. In summary, if you are in Cairo, this hotel is the best place to stay as it's also very accessible to places in the center and their price is very fair compared to other 5 star hotels around. An Excellent hotel, I recommend 100%.

One of the best Novotel hotels I’ve been in the world. The reception girls were very delightful and helpful. My cleaning staff were just amazing , shout out to mohammed ramadan in the 7th floor. The people were kind. The security asked me for money in the end ( that fat dude in the top of the hill) for no reason and he got mad because i said no. Thank you for your service.

Ever since we arrived, everything was just fine and dandy. Shuttle from airport went as good as hot knife through butter. Everyone knew, what to do. We were accomodated in couple of minutes, which you do not really experience in other egyptian hotels. During our stay, we accepted many offers for trips and activities, hence we got to reccomend quadbike trip, as it was perfect. Services of hotel were reasonable enough throughout the stay. Meals were various enough, so everybody always chose. I must not forget animator team, as all of them used to entertain our selves all the time, especially Berta and the team. I have been to many vacations, however I enjoyed this one the most, thus thanks to all the staff from novotel, as we actually loved that. See you in next year definately!

During a business trip to Egypt, the hotel experience was highly disappointing. From the moment of arrival, there were communication issues with the front desk staff. The lack of information provided, such as breakfast details and basic hotel information, was concerning. The room itself had several problems, including a persistent odor, unreliable Wi-Fi connection, and a faulty door lock. The breakfast offered limited options and strict control over drinks. The hotel restaurant turned out to be extremely expensive, with no change given back after making payments. The lack of essential supplies in the room and poor soundproofing further added to the dissatisfaction. Communication difficulties with hotel staff, especially the front desk, were persistent. Even during check-out, there were billing discrepancies and overcharging for simple items like a bottle of juice. Overall, the experience was so negative that a negative review was left on Google, prompting the decision to move to a different hotel.

The nile view is the only positive thing about the hotel. When I arrived at the hotel the renovations were not finished yet this caused discomfort for us. Rooms are not worth what i paid for. Breakfast must be improved. Room service food was good. I won’t recommend this hotel.

One of the worst experience i ever had in a hotel! Between the clubs and the works on the street it is impossible to sleep! During the night we asked for another room and in the beginning they said to my girlfriend they didn’t had one… than i went to the lobby, and room came out ! Windows are old and they do not filter the sounds of the city! Toilets are old and dirty, people provide average service… but they do what they can in this horrible situation! Unbelievable… we stayed only because we had a flight early in the morning, otherwise we would have changed hotel in within the night!

The staff is above amazing, my husband had a medical emergency and they helped us a lot they save us, taking us to the ER, food is good and the laundry service works like a charm. highly recommended. The terrace is amazing 🤩 Downside here is: if you book Nile river view, keep in mind the windows are not fully sealed against noise so you will hear the party outside from the boats or the club near by, we asked to be moved to the other side of the hotel with the Cairo tower view, then same problem but only with the mosque call 5 times a day. I definitely stay there again.

Two starts since prices do not reflect the current status of the hotel and service provided. Wifi did not work during my entire stay. The pool was closed due to renovations and this was not mentioned when I made the reservation. Windows' isolation is very poor so the outside noise comes into the room, this is specially annoying on the "river view" side of the hotel (rooms on this side are offered at a higher rate which is absolutely not worth it if you are a light sleeper). Breakfast buffet was ok but if you want eggs bear in mind there is only one person with one pan serving up to 80 people at the same time. The service is not that of a 4 star hotel but the prices are, in Egypt you can get a much better place for less. Overall would not recommend.

I had an issue before when I came last October, and I made a complaint about it, but the response from Merna and the management was wonderful. Not only, they tried to make it up for me. They did a great job! I visited again now in January and the stay was absolutely superb. Great job! As for the room cleanliness it was stunning and everything was in its place . The windows and tables were shining, an amazing job also from Ramadan “the housekeeping”. I would definitely recommend the stay to anyone who wishes to pay a visit to cairo

The loud party music outside goes until 4AM EVERY DAY. It WILL keep you awake even if you bring earplugs. Also the bathrooms are dirty, filthy grout and obvious hairs left on the sink by previous guest. Breakfast is hardly edible. If you’re used to North American or European four star hotels THIS IS NOT IT

Room is spacious and nice. Quite noisy at night due to proximity to Nile. Breakfast is nothing exceptional. Small lift so need to wait a bit during busy hours. Great view at rooftop.

Quite disappointed of this « 4 » stars hotel. I am very used to Novotel standards but this one is far below what I am used to. My main disappointments are: - a wifi almost never working properly, - an air-condition very loud even with minimum fan, - breakfast mandatory in a chilly air conditioned room without outside view (under ground), - swimming pool area really not attractive, they obviously made the minimum to tick the box… - no alcool available in the hotel without mentioning it on the website. - bad outside isolation in a very noisy area making it difficult to sleep (even if outside sound covered by very loud aircondition :-)) As a consequence we spent our evenings and diner in other hotels and only enjoyed the hotel for sleeping. Positive point: our family suite was benefiting of a large window on the Nile with a great view :-) I recommend this hotel to be renewed seriously or rebranded to a lower accord range.

Pros - good location, city centre is just a km away. And an excellent roof top restaurant. Rest all are cons - 1. Bad wifi 2. Small property, so smaller rooms, small toilet, etc etc 3. Basic needs are not looked after - no door bell, only one 250 ml welcome water bottle, not well stocked tea/coffee set, no cups... etc etc list is actually too long. 4. Staff is a big let down - getting your room and checking out is upto the convenience of staff and not guest.. 5. Everyone look for tips, at times annoying and embarrassing.

Pricey hotel but the service was very bad. Wi-Fi hotel is not working at all. Breakfast spread same almost everyday. I stayed for 4 nights and had same menu for breakfast. The worst part was on our last day, my friend left her jumper at the lobby. We asked the front desk but he claimed he don’t see it until my friend saw the jumper at the lobby counter drawer near him. Surprisingly his face looks uncomfortable. Luckily we were rushing to airport that time or else, definitely I will report him to his Manager.

It was good and clean stay. Breakfast starts at 630am . They have machine for currency exchange. Breakfast doesn't have Indian spread but still good if you are on eggs. No Bath tubs, have limited time for kids area, swimming pool. Rooms facing Nile have option to open windows which can be challenging for family with young kids. For my room 6003 the window lock was broken.

All of the front staff were so welcoming and helpful. In particular a man in his mid 20s on the night of May 10th who was so patient with me and issues I was having with an app on my phone. Rooftop restaurant was stunning. It’s right on the river Nile. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. - Jill

A poor end to a great trip to Egypt. It's in a sad state and is barely a 3 star, and poor value for money. No hot water, floors being painted and remodeling but still charging a high price. Avoid and find a better alternative.

Great place and best food. The hotel is well located, renovated with the great view of the Nile. Suggest that you visit the hotel and kindly make sure to eat in the roof top. Best regards,
