For sure the biggest collection of historical fire arms and daggers I've seen anywhere. It has a very nice garden too. I'd recommend visiting it if you are staying in Cairo. Tickets can be bought on a small booth 100m before the entrance (inside a square, look for a sign in Arabic but with the word "ticket" in English)

I highly recommend this museum for the grounds alone - so beautiful! You must buy your tickets across the street and also pay 10 LE to bring your mobile inside. Otherwise they will keep it at the entrance, so beware!

An amazing historical palace in Cairo downtown is very beautiful. Great architecture and very beautiful gardens. Beautiful palace to visit and know more about the history of this place. The building of the palace, the architecture, the design, the aesthetics, the chandlers, the design on the roof, every corner of this palace is a masterpiece on its own. It's a must-visit place if you are in Cairo, don't miss it. Take the audio guide along with you to understand the palace better. They have a ticket for entry. You might need an hour or two to go around the palace.

This is one of Cairo's nicest museums because almost everything we read about in our history books at school is documented in this beautiful place. It is a large palace with multiple museum rooms inside. The museum rooms are arranged in chronological order, so for example in the weapons museum the weapons were arranged in chronological order and the deeper you walked into the room, the more recent the artifacts become. There is a weapons room, a room to demonstrate medals and gifts to Egypt from other countries and nations, a room demonstrating silverware and expensive china, and a room representing some recent monumental artifacts over the course of Egypt being a republic instead of a kingdom. The museum staff are super friendly, you can take a tour guide with you if you are international, and you can pay extra to get a phone permit which allows you to take photos with your phone like I did. Videos are not allowed for some reason. The place is air conditioned, super clean, well renovated, and there is a cafeteria inside if you are hungry or thirsty, and water is allowed inside. Not food though. Overall, this was a great experience that made all the historical facts and events we, Egyptian students, learn about in school, actually look real.

We visited here and were very happy with the time spent here. The self-directed walk through the various galleries was informative and gave some insight into the political history of the country. We parked in a pay-to-park lot behind the main building (same side though as the entrance). Not too expensive for either the entry or the parking. Pay the extra 10 for the right to take your phone in. There was no line (we were there on a Tuesday) and the staff was friendly enough but they take their job very seriously. Took tea before leaving for other explanations.

I have never seen that many guns in one place 🤣. King Farouk had a huge collection of guns and most of them very unique pieces. The museum shows the evolution of guns over the years - silverware and gifts to the Kings from several head of states. Great way to learn the history of the Egyptian Monarchy

(Translated by Google) Abdeen Palace is one of the most famous historical palaces in Egypt. He witnessed many events from the royal era to the emergence of modern Cairo. Abdeen Palace is a rare historical masterpiece in the form that it turned into a museum that reflects the luxury with which the palace was built and the important events it witnessed from the royal era until the revolution of July 1952. Many museums are keen to visit it, as it is one of the most important and famous palaces built during the rule of the Muhammad Ali family Pasha of Egypt, where he was the seat of government from 1872 until 1952. The palace witnessed events that have a major role in the modern and contemporary history of Egypt, as it is the first beginning of the emergence of modern Cairo. At the same time when the palace was being built, Khedive Ismail ordered Cairo to be planned in the European style of spacious squares, wide streets, palaces, buildings and bridges on the Nile and gardens rich with trees. And palm species and rare plants. He ordered the construction of the palace of Khedive Ismail as soon as he assumed power in Egypt in the year 1863, and the name of the palace goes back to Abdin Bey, one of the military leaders in the era of Muhammad Ali Pasha and he owned a small palace in the place of the current palace, so Ismail bought it from his widow and demolished it and annexed large lands to it and then proceeded to construct this palace . The palace contains halls and salons characterized by the color of their walls, as the white, red and green salons are used to receive official delegations during their visit to Egypt, in addition to the palace library, which contains about 55 thousand books. The palace also contains a theater that includes hundreds of gilded chairs and has isolated places with curtains for women, and it is now used to display special theatrical performances for visitors and guests. Inside the palace, there are many suites, such as the Belgian wing, which was designed to accommodate the important guests of Egypt, and it was named so because the King of Belgium was the first to reside in it, and this suite includes a bed that is considered a rare masterpiece due to its handcrafted decorations and drawings. The palace includes a museum of great historical richness, as the sons and grandsons of Khedive Ismail who ruled Egypt after him were fond of putting their touches on the palace and making additions that fit the tendencies and age of each of them, and it was restored in a comprehensive architectural and artistic restoration, and these works included the development and modernization of the weapons museum by restoring Coordinating it and displaying its contents using the latest display methods, with the addition of a hall dedicated to the museum to display the various weapons received by the heads of Egypt from different national authorities. The second museum in the palace is devoted to the collections of the Muhammad Ali Pasha family, including tools and utensils made of silver, crystals, colored crystal, and other rare artifacts. A complex of various museums has been linked to a single visit line, through which the visitor passes the palace gardens.

A very beautiful palace with big beautiful garden and beautiful architecture, it contains museums of royal weapons and armory, royal medals, royal records and scripts, royal silverwares and utensils and a presidential section exhibiting gifts given to the presidents of Egypt, overall the tour was pretty nice and pretty informative, my only disappointment is that not the whole palace is open to the public, which i really wished, let’s hope that one day they would open the whole palace, but overall i would recommend it.

The place is a weapons museum, with many pieces from all periods of history. Starting from the ancient egyptian swords and armors till modern world wars rifles and cannons. Many ottoman inventions are displayed, such as swords with little guns, breastplates with many guns and convertible weapons (sword/rifle). Many decorated guns and swords that were presented as gifts for the royal family. There are two sections dedicated to gifts of the president and silver collectibles of the Ottoman royal family.

This is the deal! I am a foreigner and go in with an Egyptian. You can no longer bring in a cellular phone unless you pay the ticket price. The ticket price for a foreigner camera is 10 pounds and local is 5. Ticket cost for foreigner is 100 pounds. They most likely will give you a different ticket so they can pocket the money. It’s all about money. Even I have a backup phone that I camera for business and they wanted to charge me also with that. I was getting infuriated over the issue and they finally let me in and this was after I was turned away the first time and was going to get a refund because I was reading that camera prices are 50. But the guy only told me 10. Not sure which rooms are closed off now but it’s still a pretty big museum mostly guns, weapons, military items and a huge collection of all the government gifts from stolen tax payers money. They also won’t let you film either. Hope this helps.

Very interesting collections of guns, swords, knives, silverware, and gifts from other nations to the Egyptian President. I am not a weapons buff (and this museum would appeal especially to weapons buffs) but the craftsmanship and artisanship on display are stunning and worth seeing (gold, jewels, silver, …). The displays of guns run in chronological order so you get a real feel for the evolution of that technology.

I decided to pass by this museum on a whim and do not regret it at all, it was a pleasant walk in the museum and covered the more recent Egyptian history of King Farouk and the evolution of the use of guns and the historical relations between countries. The museum is very straight forward and you can finish it with 2 hours max. No outside food or drink is allowed, only water but they do have a “canteen” which was terrible to be honest. They also have a small shop where you can buy little souvenirs for a very good price.

Abdeen Palace Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into Egypt's rich history, serving as a testament to its cultural heritage and significance. Nestled in the heart of Cairo, this museum holds a special place in the country's historical landscape, attracting visitors eager to explore its treasures. One of the most compelling aspects of Abdeen Palace Museum is its historical importance. As the former royal residence of Egypt's monarchs, the palace holds a wealth of stories and artifacts dating back centuries. From opulent furnishings to intricate artworks, each corner of the museum offers a window into Egypt's royal past, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts. However, it's worth noting that Abdeen Palace Museum is relatively small in size, which may leave some visitors wishing for more to see. While the exhibits are undoubtedly captivating, the limited space restricts the museum's ability to showcase a broader range of artifacts and historical collections. As a result, visitors may find themselves exploring the museum's offerings quicker than expected. Despite its size limitations, Abdeen Palace Museum still manages to captivate visitors with its diverse exhibits and immersive displays. From the ornate reception halls to the intricately decorated rooms, each section of the museum offers a unique glimpse into Egypt's royal legacy. Additionally, the museum's knowledgeable staff are on hand to provide valuable insights and information, enhancing the overall visitor experience. In conclusion, Abdeen Palace Museum is a historically significant attraction that offers an intriguing insight into Egypt's royal heritage. While its size may be modest, the museum's rich collection of artifacts and engaging exhibits make it a worthwhile destination for anyone interested in delving into the country's storied past. However, visitors should be prepared for a relatively brief visit due to the museum's compact layout. With a bit of expansion and enhancement, Abdeen Palace Museum has the potential to become an even more compelling destination for cultural exploration

(Translated by Google) Here you have to pay even for a photo on a mobile phone. A little damn it is a matter of principle simply. So okay - there will be no photo. The guys do not understand that the more photos, the more visitors. Well, in fact, you will not see the palace itself - you will have access to a huge exhibition of weapons (from sabers to machine guns) Therefore, according to the mind, it is necessary to rename the place from Abdin Palace to the Museum of Weapons (Original)

Abdeen Palace Incorporation 1863 country Egypt Abdeen Palace The palace is a rare historical masterpiece that reflects the luxury that I commend the palace and the important events that it witnessed from the days of the royal era until the July 23 revolution. The palace is considered one of the most important and famous palaces that were built in the rule of the family of Muhammad Ali Pasha of Egypt, and it was the seat of government from 1872 until 1952. The Khedive Ismail ordered us to build the Abdeen Palace when I assumed power in Egypt in the year 1863, and the name of the palace belongs to (Abdin Bey), who was one of the military leaders during the reign of Muhammad Ali Pasha and he owned a small palace in the place of the current palace, so Ismail bought it from his widow and demolished it and annexed him Wide land and palace construction in its place. Minor description (edit) The palace contains: Halls and salons, the white, red and green salons are used to receive official delegations during their visits to Egypt, in addition to Elly Palace Library contains my solutions 55 thousand books. And the palace contains A theater with hundreds of golden chairs and separate spots for women in curtains, and it is now used for special theatrical performances for visitors and guests. Amazing palace that contains of two parts one can be visited while the other is not. The one that can be visited contains of the Silver Museum, the Arms Museum, the Royal Family Museum, the Presidential Gifts Museum and the Historical Documents Museum while the former living quarters of the royal family can't be visited You should pay a ticket for entrance and if you want to have the mobile you'll be paying another ticket but if you don't need your phone you'll leave it outside I would recommend you going there it is an amazing palace 😍

Great experience visiting the palace, got the chance to go through the royal family palace and the museum of weapons, Jewelry and trophies throughout the centuries, the landscape of the palace is enormous and beautiful. Tourists are allowed to visit the museums except the ministry halls and offices as it requires special invitation and will cost $100 dollars.

I had so many problems entering!!! They tried to get our cameras bc we basically didn’t pay for them… I said ok we want to leave them in the entry but there is no locked box so how can I trust and leave my expensive stuff in a foreign country as a tourist! I got in a fight and ended up paying for the camera. Well, I recorded everything now and will be posting everywhere, since I paid !!! And about the museum, it is absolutely amazing especially as a Turkish person it is nice to see so many ottoman impact in this country 👍👍👍👍

Fantastic place if you love to see the historical items of the Egyptian Royal Family, note that the museum closes around 2:30 PM so you should come to visit early to see every compartment inside. Also there's a ticket for taking phones and cameras inside so make sure to buy these tickets.
