(Translated by Google) Way of Muhammad Ali Muizz Street Muhammad Ali Pasha established this Sabil al-Sadaqah Ali, the soul of his son Ismail Pasha The sabil is one of the buildings influenced by the Turkish style, and it is clad in local marble with very accurate and architectural inscriptions and writings, but it is also considered one of the architectural models that bore influences on Islamic architecture, as its visitor notices the European imprint on its decoration On the sabil is a group of rooms, the most important of which are two rectangular rooms surrounding the prayer room from the north and south sides, each opening to the basil room with a rectangular window, and on the second floor is the book that was used for memorizing the Holy Qur’an. This path is now to the Egyptian Textile Museum (Original)

A special thanks to the wonderful staff at the museum especially ‘Rasha’ who give me her time and took around the museum explaining each and everting. Starting from building origins itself up to all about the textiles deployed here. The Museum is unique kind of idea in the Middle East and one of the few worldwide. It is located in AlMoez Street. This museum building was ‘Sabil’ Mohammad Ali to provide fresh water to the residence of the area. Egyptian Textile Museum. Behind each piece in the museum is a story that recounts many eras. From the old Egypt up to the new days. Recommended

This museum allows one to travel through seven millennia of Egyptian history by focusing on the development of textiles which were influenced by and reflected events and trends in day-to-day life as well as in history, art, religion, politics, culture, commerce, and economics. Both the groupings under different themes and individual pieces on exhibit have clear, well-written descriptions in English. The staff was very courteous and there are some worthwhile items in the gift shop. Allow a minimum of four hours to get the benefit of what is on display.

(Translated by Google) A museum that includes treasures of threads, secrets and stories on pieces of cloth, but unfortunately not many people know it, and therefore you find it affected by the low rates of visit, is this due to the lack of promotion of the museum and its holdings, we are here talking about the textile museum, and many people may be surprised about the existence of a museum It includes a large collection of antique tapestries, and the answer will follow in the next lines. The "Egyptian Textile Museum" is located in Al-Muizz Street, specifically near the Bain Kasserine neighborhood, and it was known as Sabil Muhammad Ali. After the development of Al-Muizz Street was completed, the place turned into a textile museum. Egyptian Textile Museum (1) In the museum, behind each piece, you find an ancient archaeological story, which expresses a specific period of ancient Egyptian history, which passed to the Egyptians in all its details, as each era has its own peculiarity in its clothes, and therefore you will see inside the museum halls a difference in the types of fabric that were found by The archaeological discoveries, all of which are unique holdings, were distributed among various museums in Egypt and the regions, but after the decision to designate a textile museum, these holdings were collected in the Textile Museum. The museum plans to include its 11 halls of textile cutting, provided that it is displayed in impressive and simple ways, provided that each piece is attached to an identification plate with the date of its manufacture and its story, in addition to a number of rooms that contain types of pharaonic tapestry, which is the largest section of the museum, for what is required of Wooden furniture dressed in old fabrics. Egyptian Textile Museum (2) The museum, which consists of two floors, also includes a large number of paintings that illustrate the basic features of the textile industry, in addition to the methods that the ancient Egyptian used to clean his clothes, and the museum also contains a large collection of children's clothes during the era of the Pharaohs made from the book. Egyptian Textile Museum (3) Egyptian Textile Museum (4) The contents of the museum are made of the book and cotton, which is one of the manifestations of the ancient Egyptian era, which illustrates the skill of the Egyptian in making clothes, dyeing colors and embroidering, all of this you can find in the Textile Museum on Al-Muizz Street, it is worth a visit.
