Best $16 hotel in town. Being an experienced traveller, I walked the approximately 1 1/4 mile distance from Ramses train station ( traffic is crazy). Biggest problem with the hotel is how it's located. The entrance is accessed by walking through an unmarked walkway from the street, not on the street itself. There is a medium sized hotel sign across the street from the entrance, but if you're not looking for it, you'll never see it. As I was on my 3rd week in Egypt, the elevator didn't horrify me. My room was a city view with balcony, and I liked it. Water was good. 30 minute walk to Kahn El Kalili and is adjacent to lots of nightlife.

Price is cheap and the location is very good. Rooms are big and with air conditionin, and the cleaning is well done, they also have kitchen. The staff should be more friendly and prestative, be low expectant in service

Place is friendly and close to city center. Located on the fifth floor, the lift is a bit scary as it's missing a few safety doors on some floors. Room was tidy but the toilet didn't have a roof. Breakfast was provided and is simple yet enough. Two things I was not happy with, one I got conned by the taxi driver who took us to the pyramids and made the most expensive deal for the horse carriage (did a hotel booking and he referred this taxi driver) and two, at times in the night, it can get noisy as it's a busy market place behind and they play loud music and party late.

An absolute budget hotel. Location is the best part about the hotel and so are the staff. But the good stuff ends there. They are located in an ancient building with barely working elevator and broken stairs. Beds are cranky, towels overused, free drinking water is not available. The room we stayed in didn't lock from inside. If you are checking in early then confirm before booking online and don't pay extra for early check-in. Recommend only if you are low on money. P.s. Balcony was nice

Very run down and don't expect hot water in the showers. It is cheap for backpackers if you want something simple. If you do stay, I would advise not booking tours through them. My tour skipped the Bent and Red Pyramids, even though it was included in the sales pitch. Overall, not recommended.

Despite really dirty stairs and a dodgy lift the hotel was clean, people friendly and the location is fabulous. Don't expect a 5 star hotel though. The flaky ceiling in our room was a bit of a worry.

I am going during winter season.I ever stay here for 3 time with 3 separate day. Depend in what kind of room your stay. The first night stay I have very bad experience with the room (304). Room look old and not so clean. Shower can be consider not hot at all. The following day I stay at other room. I have feel other room have better condition compare with previous one. With hot shower is working and the room was cleaner. It just depend what kind of room your stay. I not recommend room 304.

Great hotel in the heart of Cairo. Large room with private bathroom and it’s own balcony! Not much of an entrance, but the hotel is nice and the staff are amazing. Plenty of friendly faces and great advice. We’ve travelled a lot and love hotels like the Bella Luna, great value, safe and friendly, perfect location! Looking forward to our next visit to Cairo.
