(Translated by Google) The Qanibai Al-Ramah Mosque, one of the most beautiful mosques of the Mamluk era in Egypt, is located in front of the Sultan Hassan Mosque in the Citadel, and due to its architectural and historical value, it was chosen to be a symbol for the 200-pound coin. It was established by Qanibai Al-Ramah, known as "Ganibai Al-Ramah" in the year 908 AH (1503 AD) ), One of the princes of Sultan Qaytbay and Amir Khor (meaning the prince who supervises the stables), his son Sultan Al-Nasir Muhammad, and this mosque was built on the system of schools with orthogonal planning, as it includes a courtyard It was exposed and surrounded by four vaulted iwans, and it differed from the previous mosques of the Mamluk Circus in the way its iwans were roofed, while the roofs of the mosques established in this era were made of wood and adorned with beautiful gilded carvings, yet the roofs of this mosque were all made of stone in the form of different vaults. Shapes, an owan The qibla is covered by a flat dome of white and red stone courses, respectively. It is known historically that Prince Qani Bai Qara was owned by the noble King Qaitbay, so he freed him and appointed him in a number of positions, until Prince Ten in the year 898 AH (1492 CE), then appointed him deputy to Zion, so he was governor of Aleppo, then he returned to Egypt, and married the prince's daughter Yashbak Ben Mahdi. In the era of Al-Nasser Muhammad bin Qaitbay, he was promoted to the lieutenant colonel of a thousand, then the great prince of Akhur, that is, the supervisor of the horse stables that were considered the striking powers of the state at this time, and he was famous for his courage and equestrian, glorified for playing with spears, so he was known with spears, and he died in 923 AH 1515 AD He is buried under the dome.

(Translated by Google) Ghani by the sword, and said Qani by the spears and sometimes write Qanbai. This mosque is located in the Castle Square area, which was formerly called Rumaila Square, and its square was contested on its land by the Mameluke knights to show their skill in practicing all martial arts with swords, spears and other fighting tools, and among them came Qani Bai, who was famous for courage and equestrianism and playing with the sword and spear, nicknamed the sword And spears for this reason. The mosque, which is called the Qanibay School, is located east of the Rifai Mosque and the sea of the Mahmudiyah Mosque, and it is in high honor, known as the Sowah, and was built in the style of schools in the era of the Circassian Mamluks. It was ordered to be established by Prince Qani Bey, who was promoted to positions until he became the Prince of Akhur during the reign of Al-Nasir Muhammad bin Qaytbay, and the last word of Persian origin, and the meaning of his job is that he is the Emir responsible for the Sultan’s animals and feeding them like horses, camels, etc. It was a great job in the Mamluk era, and the mosque was established between 1502-1503 m. The mosque was destroyed, some of its parts were restored during the days of King Farouk, including its minaret, which was the first two-headed minaret in Cairo. The existing one is not original but was built in the era of King Farouk. Qani Bey died in the year 1515 AD and was buried in his tomb located in the mosque below the magnificent dome in which the greatness of the Mamluk domes unfolds.

Qanbai al-Rammah came to Egypt at a young age, under the age of eleven, and was bought by a man called Wali al-Din before Sultan Qaytbay bought him. After that, he became the subject of his care, until he emancipated him, gave him money, weapons and horses, and appointed him to several positions, the most important of which was that he took over the vicarage of the Citadel of Zion in the Levant on behalf of the Sultan, then the Emir of Aleppo. And his star began to rise in the era of Muhammad bin Qaitbay, when he reached the position of Emir of Akhur. Then his star faded for some time as he was imprisoned. When Sultan Al-Ashraf took over Jumblatt, he released him and restored him to the position of Emir of Akhur. In the era of Sultan Qansuh al-Ghuri, his star shone brightly and Sultan Al-Ghawri assigned him to carry out several tasks, the most dangerous of which was that he headed a campaign for the Levant against Shah Ismail Al-Safawi. He was famous for helping the poor pilgrims accompany the official Hajj procession, and he was also passionate about collecting books and collecting Qur’ans. He was famous for his mastery of playing with a spear, and that is why he was known as a spear. He married the prince engaged to Mahdi and married his six daughter Saad al-Muluk, and gave birth to his son, the Nazarene, Muhammad. (From the Eternal Egypt website) The story of the construction of the Qani Bey Al Rammah Mosque The Qani Bay As-Saifi Mosque, Amira Khor or the Qani Bay Al-Ramah Mosque, was established by Gani Bay Al-Saifi, famous for "Gani Bay Al-Ramah" in the year 908 AH (1503 AD) I mean, I adopt it after the Sultan Hassan Mosque, about 140 years (about a century and a half) This mosque was built, and the right to it is a path and a book on the system of orthogonal schools, as it includes an open courtyard surrounded by four arched iwans, and it differed from the previous ones of the walled mosques of the Mamelukes in the way its iwans were roofed. While we see the roofs of the mosques that were established in this era were taken from wood and adorned with inscriptions A beautiful gilding we see the roofs of this mosque all taken from stone in the form of vaults of various shapes. The qibla iwan is covered by a flat dome of white and red stone courses, respectively. Despite its small size, the artist deposited all the secrets of Islamic art in its walls, windows, two-headed minaret and splendid dome, until the mosque became eye-catching masterpieces. He suffers from neglect and seems to be the least fortunate of all the mosques that have been honored on the various Egyptian currencies, where the mosque is located on the Egyptian currency of 200 pounds.

(Translated by Google) This mosque is one of the most beautiful mosques, like the rest of the mosques in the Al Qalaa neighborhood in the Caliph neighborhood, next to the Sultan Hassan Mosque and the Sidi Ahmed Al Rifa’i Mosque, and it is in front of the Sidi Ahmed Al Rifa’i Mosque. And the Ramah mosque has a dome over it, an extremely fine case, the beauty of the accuracy of engineering is magnificence, and the beautiful city is in some scenes that you see very few in the rest of the mosques of Egypt ,,, and the view of the mosque from the exit is likable to the Muslim man and non-Muslim, but from inside the spears Glory be to God, the division of the mosque is very very very very very different from Most of the mosques in Egypt have been given an architectural masterpiece outside and inside the mosque. Unfortunately, now it is closed by his words for years forgotten by the officials, and not for a while. I appeal to the Minister of Awqaf and the Minister of Antiquities and every person in charge of the mosques to take care of this mosque and open all the Egyptians and not Egyptians, especially Those who love antiquities and tourism from foreigners and Egyptians. Thank you Haj Salah El-Din Abdel Ghani from the people of the neighborhood in the castle.
