The first thing that springs to mind when I think about my incredible vacation to Cairo is the magnificent and breathtaking sights I witnessed. The second (and more significant) thought is that I would not have been able to properly appreciate the magnificent and breath-taking things I saw if it hadn't been for the incredibly knowledgable Nermin Magdy, and how much her expertise added to my experience.

I went to Cairo for the first time in Feb of this year. As a woman, travelling alone I was cautious about booking too far in advance because of recent "troubles". My hosts at the excellent Guardian Guest House suggested I take a tour, and they booked Nermin Magdy. I am so delighted that they did - she was an excellent tour guide and not only gave me all the relevant history and took me to the most amazing places, I found she was easy to talk to and flexible about our itinerary, she also gave great insights into everyday living in Egypt, and was totally trustworthy...I was so impressed I booked her for a further 3 days! I would have no hesitation in recommending her.- she made my visit one of the most memorable I have ever taken.

We saw Khafris pyramid from inside and what a sight it was. Should she have not been around the experience would not have been half of what it was. Something unique about her is her ability to simplify things and explain it to you in the simplest manner possible. The same was not the case with other guides as one would always take it for granted that we were extremely versed with Egyptian history.

My wife and I had been recommended to take Ms Magdy's services by our contact in Hurgada and she came highly recommended. Well where do I start. We initially were a little sceptical having experienced the crowds in other parts of the country, but what a blessing. She knew every one and every one knew her, and she knew every thing there was to know about Egypt. As we stepped out of our hotel, she was there ON TIME waiting to take us to the pyramids. In fact we went towards the latter part of the day as recommended by her to get some great pictures of the sunset against the Sphynx. She took us through the history of the country, the various kings and kingdoms and how their hierarchy flew. Being always around and instilling the confidence of her being around through the course of the tour was very comforting.

In July, we went to Cairo. My wife and I are experienced travellers who have travelled all over the world, yet Cairo seemed a little scary. Our tour guide, Nermin Magdy, was able to calm our nerves by taking us to all of Cairo's most spectacular tourist spots. We not only felt safe with Nermin, but her deep knowledge of Egyptian culture and history allowed us to make our trip to Cairo one of the most memorable experiences of our life.

I went to Cairo 2013 with my friend and thanks to Private day tours with Nerma, we had a great time! My 60th birthday bucket list trip started in Giza, at the Pyramids. I spent four full days in Cairo with Nermin Magdy as my guide and I am extremely happy that I hired her. To begin, she was on time every day to pick me up at my hotel. Because Nermin has studied history at the University, as we traveled around Cairo she was able to educate me about Egyptian history, art and culture. I had sent Nermin a list of the places I wanted to go and she made sure I saw everything on my list. I strongly recommend Nermin as a tour guide. I am a traveler who has gone all over the world and I have always traveled alone. I have never traveled with a tour group nor have I ever hired a guide EXCEPT when I went to Cairo and hired Nermin. It was the right choice. From my experience, if I had not been with Nermin I can tell I would have been taken advantage of financially by many people. Nermin negotiated prices for me so I did not have to haggle. Because Nermin is a local, she knows when a service or item is priced fairly (or not!). I am very glad I hired her. If you are planning a trip to Cairo, do not try to do it on your own. Do yourself a favor and hire Nermin. It is money well spent to ensure yourself a safe, fun trip.

Our short holiday in Egypt really was the best ever. We felt warmly welcomed everywhere we went and very safe. We were especially lucky to have Nermin Magdy as our guide for 5 days. She taught us so much about Egypt , both ancient and modern and always with her gentle humour and charm. We came away feeling we really understood a little of this wonderful country and its amazing history - enough to know we must go back and learn more!

Our tour group was introduced to Ms Nermin Magdy as our guide. We visited most of the major sites Karnak, Edfu, Abydos, the pyramids and the Cairo Museum. But we also found that she would help us with our shopping and banking. I would highly recommend Nermin as she proved to be very knowledgeable about the archaeology of the country. When I return I will definitely ask for her again

She even called some friends to find out security situation at Midan Tahrir (there were protests in the previous evening). As we found out that the metro station is closed she quickly organized a taxi instead. She even helped us to haggle in a shop, saving us 50%! Our safety was always first priority for us, she really took great care (we visited in volatile days as ex-president Mubarak was set free on our arrival evening). Any wishes we had she made it done. All in all, I fully recommend her to anyone on a private tour - it is better to walk around with such a good local guide, especially since 2011! And, of course, her English is perfect!

We haven't left yet, but the booking process has been so easy and the people this company are very helpful. My friend and I are planning a one day East and West bank tour in Luxor, and they have been nice enough to offer to pick us up from the airport instead of from a hotel at no extra charge. We are very much looking forward to our tour package with them !
