If you call a place and ask if there pool is open, to which they say yes. And you say we will see you soon (30 minutes) Well, that place should tell you the phone that there will be a waiting list, before you pack up your 2 year old and get him exciting for a trip to the pool, and drive 20 km.. It must be nice to have a job where you don't care about your patrons. There wasn't even any sense of apology or understanding when I explained that I called 30 minutes earlier and would of appreciated being told on the phone. I for one, am just tired of this new world we live in where customer service is the last thing on the mind of employees who work for the public. And southland leisure center is no exception

Great leisure centre it has a nice wave pool, hot tubs, sauna, change room for family, male and female. There is fitness facility, kids gym, sports plex, skating rink and much more. Ample parking and washroom. Over all highly recommended and price is also very affordable.

Went there on a Tuesday, was there as soon as it opened. Not busy at all. For 2 adults and a child it cost 27 and change. They accept all forms of payment. They have lockers on site and you need a quarter to get the key. Make sure you put everything in before you put your change in or else you'll need to put another quarter in to lock it again. They will make change for you where you buy your tickets. You can also rent a tube for $6. They provide life jackets if you didn't bring your own. Change rooms are fairly clean at the beginning of the day and obviously get dirtier as the day goes on. When we first went in, 3 of the 4 slides were operating. Then the big bucket poured and it appeared to have short circuited all the slides in that area so they ended up having to shut down the entire area which only left the red slide operating. Thankfully they opened the light blue slide so at least there were 2 slides operating. The wave pool is lots of fun and my four year old thoroughly enjoyed herself. Overall, can't complain, had lots of fun!

Super fun for both kids and adults. Their aqua fitness centre is incredible and they have a large selection of other activities! I highly recommend getting their family pass.

Our friends and family love swimming here. The pools are great and the staff our nice. The facility is always clean. There’s always plenty of parking! We enjoy many sports here too. As well as skate here in the winter months. Overall a great place to spend time with the ones you love !

This place has always been the best since I’ve been a kid. Grew up on the slides, has tones of different activities for all age groups. My kids love the slides, wave pool (best in the city) dive pool and steam room. Just a great family experience and cheap as well.

I have only been to wave pool couple of times, so my review is specifically about it than the overall facilities. I feel this is a little gem in southside at affordable price. For similar features I have paid maybe 7-8 times more in Edmonton mall. Besides wave pool, there is a swimming pool, sauna, 4 water slides, hot tub, and warm pool for kids. The facility is clean and well maintained.

Good value, great condition and service. Need swimsuit, sandals, towel. Don't need life jacket as there's plenty here to use. Bring a quarter for the lockers!

This leisure centre is so great for kids. We took our 3 year old swimming on Saturday January 14 and he had the best time. First time at a big wave pool with a park and slides. I'd like to give a big shout out to the First Aid team. Our son tripped and cut his knee pretty bad. We took him to the First Aid room which is right in the swimming area and they treated him sooo good and made him feel important. They cleaned his knee up right away and gave him a big bandaid. Such great staff who was so friendly, told us to come right in and stopped everything they were doing. We left pretty much right after but we'll definitely be going back once his knee is all better.

Great place to take the kids. A tad silly it's been closing at 6pm...... Plus the hot tub had been down for a month the last time is visited (14 days or so ago) Don't expect to use the steam room and actually heat up on the weeknights/weekends. The door opens every 20 seconds or so. Very clean and great staff.

Water slides and pool with waves 🌊🌊🌊 would be interesting not only for children, but for adults of all ages! Steam room is not very hot and too crowded. The change room and showers are spacious. Do not forget 25 cents to lock the box (there is no opportunity to bring own lock 🔐).

Excellent place to stay on a rainy day with kids. The pool is great and water slides make it an adventure with kids. Great stop on the way from banff if you need it around Calgary and the price per family is great too.

Love this Day. I took my Grandbabies here. We had a great time together. 1 of my Granddaughters said," Nana you are like a 5 year old having fun". What can I say, I had 1 of my best times with them. LOVED THIS🥰💖💖💖.

Wave pool was a HUGE hit for my 1 year old daughter. The slides are great and it was about $30 for me, my husband and our 2 daughters (7yo & 1yo) All around really great. Would be nice if the family/accessible change rooms had more lockers, we had to use the women's and run my husband's stuff in and out of the change room

Our kids love the pool and the facilities are clean and welcoming. However, depending on when you go, it may be too busy to actually get into the pool, with lineups out the door and signs posted saying that they are at capacity. The wave pool, slides and play equipment are fun for all ages though if you're able to get in.

Very fun pool. I always have a lot of fun when I’m there! Lots of slides and swimming areas. It is a bit dirty and unsanitary in the dressing rooms and as well as the items to buy are pretty expensive. Unlike the dressing rooms the pool is a lot of fun!

It wasn't clear if lifeguards are always watching every pool. That made me a bit uncomfortable with having kids there who are weak swimmers. I stayed with those kids the whole time, but it was something I thought was concerning. Anyway, we had a great time here. It's a fun pool and slides for kids.

The water slides are awesome, especially on a cold day. The one in the corner is super fast and our favorite is the one that leads into the small pool. It’s a little smaller and you gently land in the water instead of felling like your in a car wash! It’s a fun day

We took our toddler & infant for a public swim on a weekend afternoon. It was great fun. The staff was awesome & they have a half price rate for if you go with little kids so you can spend an hour there instead of paying the full rate for the full swim time. You do need to have both a swim diaper & a diaper cover on infants at this pool. You can purchase them at the front desk. The tot pool is pretty small & gets quite crowded. But we still had a great time!

It's a fun place and the wave pool is great but the temperature in there is cold. Constantly standing in line to get in the hot tub to warm up. The change rooms were very dirty.

Smaller wave pool compared to village square, but it was nice. Very large showers in the change rooms. Seems like a popular place. The children's gymnastics room was filled with small children having a good time and the after school program seemed quite busy also. Over all great experience

We had a birthday party here and all kids ranging from 3 to 10 had lots of fun. There's a lazy river for young children and wave pool, water slides for older kids. The water is very warm in the lazy river, the wave pool is a bit colder but not too bad. There's a sauna room next to the pool if people need to warm up. The party space is on the second floor and is divided to a few sections for multiple groups. In general a great experience, We will be back!

I love this leisure centre. I take my toddler here all the time. The only complaint I have is the cold air blowing down on the shallow end of the pool, It’s pretty chilly getting out of the pool, I always make sure to bring a towel to wrap my toddler in right when we get out. Other than that, Pool is warm, Waves are strong, Waterslides are fun & the staff is great.

Always a great place to visit. I’ve been coming here for 23 years and they have done a very solid job staying clean, operational, and relevant. Getting older, but not in a bad way. My family and I still love coming here.

This place has a lot of amenities! A gymnasium for basket ball and other sports, squash courts, party rooms and a wave pool area with 2 large slides and 2 smaller slides, a children's play and spray, a hot tub and sauna too. Over all a fun place to go with the family but If your looking for a less crowded wave pool the Village square leisure centre is bigger.

This is a good pool to take kids however their family change room has very few lockers and is always packed. The lockers in regular change rooms also famously take your quarters and don’t actually lock until the 3rd try, so bring several if you’re attending this facility. Also plan for major delays to use hot tub etc as there is always a huge lineup and some people sit in there for 30 mins at a time. It’s a decent pool but would be far more enjoyable if it wasn’t completely packed all the time.

The more you explore Calgary the more it offers. This is my visit to this centre and I already had all time favourite time in wavy waters, hot tubs and saunas. I am starting to feel like this is going to be permanent must visit leisure spot for all fun and indoor activities. Facility is well maintained and attention is paid to each minute details. They have life guards at ever possible corners. Felt safe and enjoyed to the core. Thank you 🙏

The pool was amazing for our 2 yr old! He had so much fun! Highly recommend, don't forget a quarter for the lockers though!

I'm recovering from a a back injury and haven't been to a public pool in months... It was a lot of work to get ready and when I got in the pool area, the hot tub was closed. Wish I had some notice. As I would not have gone or spent money if I had known.. The kid pool was warmish, but hard to get in and out of. As well as the air blowing was very cold... Won't go again unfortunately.

Great swimming experience! The waves are more frequent and stronger than at Trico. There are lots of places in the pool though that allow you to experience the waves differently (or not at all) and the different sized slides were great for our kids that aren't comfortable with the big slides at other swimming pools in the south.

I enjoy this pool, it a fun place for kids and the lifeguards are very present and alert which is great to see. I do think you should be extra cautious with little ones in the wave pool tho as it gets crazy and also if your child is under 8 you need to ride with them on the waterslides, which I understand is for safety however I found that I kept landing on my daughters head and the bottom of the red slide area isn't deep enough so we did a few knee and shin bangers..

It was my last time 4 physio here but I also come to the gym here; to work out & I love the steam room & hot tub as well! The wave pool is awesome here as they make huge waves in the 💧 water!

Great wave pool, slides, baby pool and dive tank. Easy to take a bunch of kids there. Facility is in great shape.

Would have given it 5 stars but the concession wasn't open!

We come here for swimming and I have only 2 minor complaints: 1. None of the lockers allow you to use your own lock, they all cost 25¢; and 2. The showers are not very hot. Other than this, we love the facility. A large wave pool, 4 water slides, a diving board and a water "park" make for a fun couple of hours. There's a separate small pool for the littles and it's a comfy, warm temperature. The large hot tub and steam room are quite hot.

I've gone here since I was a kid. The facilities are well maintained, the staff is friendly and it really is good for all aged and activity levels. This is a family pool with waves, slides, a low diving board, toddler pool and splash park. On top of that they have racket courts, basketball courts, a climbing wall and gym which they offer programs for. Take your kids, have a blast.

Nice wave pool. Lots of excellent facilities that are well maintained and very clean. Lots of lifeguards on staff. Place was busy, but well managed. Worth stopping in for the hot tube.
