Amazing place for picnic and playing with kids in the kids park. Lots of place to lay your mat and have a nice barbeque picnic and play with friends and family. During summer, it's completely green and there is bow river pathway trail which goes all the way North Glenmore via wetlands. One of the most beautiful trails open to hiking, biking and walking, running. The wetlands are beautiful and give a great shade and cool trail to be walk during hot sunny day. Highly recommended for family time.

South Glenmore Park is a scenic waterfront green space at the Glenmore reservoir on Elbow river. It has a colossal children playground with lots of amazing equipment to amuse children of all ages, a sizable splashpad, and an area with several musical instruments such as pianos and drums for music lovers, near the reservoir. There are hiking and biking paths, a large number of unpaved and winding trails, and beaten paths. While walking on the gravel trail, right beside the elbow river - the narrow and somewhat challenging trail is squeezed between the river and forest, it is not uncommon to see people fishing at various places and sailing in their own or rental boats. The park has a sailing club and school from where canoes, kayaks, or sailing boats may be hired and boating may be learned. It, also, has tennis courts and a bicycle pump station. I parked my car at the Weaselhead park's parking lot and walked the 5.5 km paved trail from Weaselhead park to South Glenmore park and back; it has incredible landscapes of forests, jungles, river, valleys, myriads of trees, wild vegetation, and many beaten trails on either side of the trail. The park has clean washrooms, picnic tables, and a water fountain near the playground, and it has several view points, a gazebo, and tons of benches all over the park. This is an alluring, scenic waterfront place with splendid views - a must visit place - that has lots to offer to all kinds of people.

Our favorite walking path. It is about 15-16 kilometers if you walk the whole thing. Lots of great views, picnic areas and fishing too. If you go earlier in the day there is a good chance to see wildlife. Lots of photo opportunities. Paths are well maintained and marked for activity for walking and cycling. If you are walking stay on the correct side of the path to avoid run ins with cyclists. Most people on bikes let you know they are behind you. Fantastic place to observe lots of sailboats.l

This is one of my favorite places in the city. The sun sets perfectly over the reservoir and it has the most spectacular golden hour. There is an upper and lower path along the sailing club, they are currently doing construction on the lower path and it is closed. There is also a Starbucks, good earth and McDonald’s near by if you went to grab a drink for your walk. Total is 14.5km around the full path.

I Love running in the mountain biking/dirt paths next to the reservoir. Park has washroom, parks for kids, tennis courts and multiple paths for bikers and walkers/runners. Views are breathtaking. I'm always at peace along the water.

Wow had no idea the pump track was even here! The kids had a great time and even though it was busy the kids were careful and took their time waiting their turn. Beautiful spot to get some exercise for the whole family.

My favourite place to chill on my day off, whether I just want to sit by the water or trek along the path around the perimeter of the reservoir. I look forward to canoeing or kayaking before he summer ends...

Went to an outdoor concert at the Quinterra Legacy Garden. Truly an amazing option for supporting local music. It was a perfect evening with the sail boats on the reservoir in the setting sun.

Love taking our kids here. The parks are so versatile for all ages and disabilities. There are lots of shaded areas to set up for the day. There are even picnic tables close to the park. The restrooms were open but were extremely dirty. There wasn't any soap in the dispensers.

Ample parking. Good playground with a good variety for children of all ages. There are public bathrooms right next to the playground that seem to be in alright condition (only used once and they were as clean as one could expect). There are a few picnic tables in the playground area, too. It looks like there's a splash pad in the warmer months, too. The trail along the reservoir is well maintained and has a nice view. There are benches sporadically off the trail overlooking the reservoir. The music garden is next to the playground and near the trail so sometimes you'll hear music from kids and adults trying out the instruments. Reservoir looks to be a good place to fish (usually a few people scattered fishing). The dock is large (no fishing off of it, though) and there are sailing lessons offered to kids and adults. Kayak rentals are also available.

You can walk, bike, run, sail, kayak, and canoe! There is lots of room and parking both in the south and north parking lot for anyone to come enjoy. You can even walk past heritage park and go to the candy / ice cream shop outside of the gates if you need a refresher!

Its a great park for kids! Plenty of activities to do, especially in summer. Although the park is open year around, the toilet and spray park are open only in summer. The proximity to reservoir with fantastic trails make it a go to place year around!
