The
hotel
is
old,
dingy
and
run
down.
My
room
was
full
of
deficiencies
and
poor
maintenance.
There
was
an
exterior
door
to
a
balcony
which
had
a1.5
inch
space
at
the
threshold,
letting
in
light/air
and
quite
possibly
vermin
(it
looked
chewed).
The
bedside
light
was
unplugged,
forcing
me
to
move
the
bed
to
plug
it
in
(and
behind
the
bed
was
grubby/dusty).
The
wall
socket
was
loose,
and
in
my
opinion
dangerous.
The
curtains
were
ripped,
there
was
a
tear
in
the
floor
lamp
shade,
the
air
con
unit's
filter
was
visibly
filthy,
the
heating
had
no
adjustable
thermostat
and
sounded
of
loud
rushing
water
all
the
time.
There
were
holes
in
the
wall,
water
damage
on
the
bathroom
door,
and
a
dark,
black
greasy
hand
print
on
the
shower
curtain.
In
spite
of
a
no
smoking
policy,
a
previous
guest
had
wrapped
the
smoke
detector
in
plastic,
making
it
ineffective.
Judging
by
the
yellow
tinge
on
the
plastic
bag,
I
would
suggest
it
had
been
there
for
some
time.
The
fridge
in
the
room
froze
everything
I
put
in
it
(even
after
trying
different
settings
on
the
thermostat).
Admittedly
I
did
not
find
bed
bugs
when
I
checked,
but
it
wouldn't
have
surprised
me,
and
by
the
state
of
the
room
I
felt
compelled
to
check.
The
water
in
the
sink
drained
very
slowly,
indicating
there
must
have
been
a
partial
blockage.
I
needed
a
desk
to
work
and
I
was
told
that
my
room
didn't
have
one.
The
front
desk
offered
me
an
"upgrade"
to
a
suite
which
had
a
desk,
but
when
I
saw
the
upgraded
room,
it
was
in
even
worse
condition
(burn
holes
in
the
comforter,
torn
curtains,
bad
smell,
etc.).
I
was
offered
a
table
(from
the
common
area)
if
I
was
willing
to
lift
it
to
my
room.
I
did,
and
the
underside
was
covered
in
bubble
gum.
I
would
not
have
swum
in
the
pool
if
you
had
paid
me,
as
the
bottom
was
covered
in
visible
brown
stain/dirt?
The
included
breakfast
was
a
bag
containing
a
juice
box,
a
commercial
little
loaf
of
chocolate
banana
bread
(which
was
so
bad
I
couldn't
eat
it)
and
a
granola
bar.
Overall,
I
knew
this
was
a
2-star,
but
even
a
budget
hotel
should
not
be
so
rundown.
The
front
desk
were
friendly,
but
didn't
seem
to
care
when
I
provided
a
list
of
the
repairs
needed
in
the
room
for
the
next
guest.
I
have
stayed
in
low
budget
(few
amenities)
joints
before,
and
I
don't
complain
easily,
but
there
were
so
many
things
wrong
with
this
hotel
feel
it
is
necessary
to
warn
any
other
travelers.
The
price
was
low,
but
my
advice
is
to
pay
a
bit
more
to
stay
elsewhere.
