First thing to note - the service here is awesome. Friendly staff, funny and yet straight to the point to help you with your order. I would highly recommend the platters opposed to a wrap if you're hungry. The wraps come in two sizes (regular and large) and starts at $10 meanwhile the platter start at $13. The regular size wrap felt more of a small appetite type of meal and a tad short of balanced content. Everything (both wrap and also platters) get particularly portioned out in terms of toppings (salad, picked vegetables, sauce). I feel that's where it fell a little short compared to some other places that just plop on a bunch of this and that. BUT where quantity didn't fully suffice, the protein quality here is very good - not dry chicken (based on the few times I've gone) and it's moist + non fatty. They have the option of grilling the onions and tomatoes which I think is a great option. The space overall, the team there ensure its well kept and organized ! The baklava also - would recommend, a perfect balance of sweetness and flaky without being entirely drenched/soggy.

It's a solid small business, looks like run by cousins/brothers. Food is par for pricing though not super outstanding. The mixed plate feeds 1 comfortably, though you might want to get the large wrap Instead. The rice is flavourful, pickles are fresh though I wish they gave just a little more salad. Garlic is very good, make sure you always ask for extra! I don't like that they grill the meat after shaving as it makes it more dry even if they add water onto the grill (to make sure it's cooked). It also looses its flavours and natural juiciness. The servers were very friendly and generous with their service.

Got the chicken donair here and wasn't disappointed. Service was fast and friendly, despite the shop being packed with people. They also gave me a water cup, even though they usually don't provide that which shows that they go above and beyond in terms of customer service. I would definitely come here again.

As people say when you find a great place 'run don't walk'. So so happy I've found this place. Everything is freshly prepared, flavourful, friendly service and great ambiance . Everything you need to make an amazing restaurant. I truly hope this place will succeed and I have no doubts it will reach the top. If you live in Calgary or just visiting I highly recommend Damascus. I've been searching this city for a great Mediterranean place and I'm happy my search is over. I will be a forever happy customer. I thought there was no way this place would live up to the hype but I was definitely blown away by everything here. The food, the hospitality from the workers, and the value here is top notch. Even when they were busy, they kept the line moving with excellent service. They are in dire need of expansion because the demand was certainly there. I went with the Damascus platter (left) and my wife got mixed platter (right), both choices were excellent. Even the little things I typically don't eat like the salad on the side - was excellent.

I went to Calgary last week for vacation with my friends. I was looking for had a great time and experiencing different food but it turned out as a nightmare when I got to know every restaurant in town close around 10 or 11 pm. However the first night, when I was really tired finding a restaurant near my hotel for dine in , I found this Gem. Food was terrific and authentic as they were making it fresh and serve it right away. Especially The front staff Steph was super amazing host and superb friendly made our that night really special. He gave us fries 🍟 as complimentary while I was asking to substitute with Salad as we were visiting the restaurant for the first time. Not only that He gave us complimentary Baklava(Dessert) while I went to ask his name and give him a cordial thank you! He said he will make more great dine in experience for next time. Trust me steph that was too good! That night will be memorable for so many other reasons but this restaurant’s experience will stand out among those.

I recently had lunch at Damascus, a fantastic restaurant in Calgary that offers a unique traditional Middle Eastern cuisine. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, however, they have a couple of tables, so it’s not a dine in place (one or 2 persons max). The menu was quite rich, offering a wide variety of dishes to choose from, including falafel, kebabs, and shawarma! The flavors were bold and flavorful, and I was especially impressed by the rich spices and herbs used to season. The sandwiches/wraps were generous! I was able to enjoy a delicious and satisfying meal. I also appreciated the service I received. Ahmed and Ayham were knowledgeable about the menu and provided great recommendations based on my preferences. They were friendly, generous and attentive! Overall, I highly recommend Damascus for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience.

First of all the food was just amazing. I’d easily rate is as the best Mediterranean food in town. Secondly the staff was super warm and welcoming. Highly recommended visit!

Love this place! DELICIOUS FOOD! Polite and friendly men making your order FRESH! We always get the Damascus shawarma Arabic plate. Kebbeh. Baklava. Chicken shawarma. Mixed platter. Mixed shawarma. Big portions! Very authentic taste. Their kebbeh! Simply perfection! My favourite is the Arabic plate! I got the flavours that reminded me of eating a meal at my Lebanese best friends house. I can eat here everyday! Try to eat everything fresh, as they make it! It’s best that way! 😍😋

I am very picky and particular about middle eastern food and have eaten from countless places in many different cities. I ordered the beef donair plate from here and I am extremely impressed. This is easily the best I have EVER had. The meat is very juicy when other places are usually dry. The rice is very flavorful and aromatic. Everything is perfectly spiced and the garlic sauce is not too overpowering and does not have the typical metallic after taste to it. This is easily my new go-to restaurant in this city. I haven't even finished my plate yet and had to write this review before finishing. That is how good it is.

I'm surprised that this deli is rated so highly by customers; unfortunately, that's what led my wife and me to go there. The food was completely average, with high prices and a minimum parking fee of $9.30. I wouldn't give this deli more than three stars; in fact, I wouldn't give it any.

The food here is a real deal. We got the three meat platter and the parsley (taboleh?) salad. The generous portion of meats and sauces. The food here is flavorful. The parsley salad is super sour. So it is quite subjective to decide if it is good, but my mom and I LOVE it. It is like a whole garden of lemons packed in a bowl lol. The wraps look stunning too (we didn't order the wrap though).

It is whole different experience of authentic Mediterranean food from Syria. Best customer service. Shawarma lahem n shawarma shami were the best! It is a must try in downtown Calgary

The large shawarma lahem was hefty, and packed with vegetables, meat, and best of all flavour. I ordered it with the garlic tahini and can definitely recommend it. We had the mixed grill platter and it was not bad too, though the pickles may be a little too sour for everyone. The surroundings outside the store is a bit dirty, so for those not a fan of street-style dining, better to have it to-go.

Could be the best of two cities. I overheard some out of town construction workers say that Damascus is the best shawarma ever, so I decided that I had to give it a try. The chicken shawarma platter blew me out of the atmosphere! Fresh ingredients, seasoned nicely, balanced professionally. I dislike giving a five star review because I don’t want it to go to their heads, but these guys are true chefs. Thanks for the tip guys from Winnipeg if you happen to read this.

We ordered Chicken Shawarma platter and Lemon Garlic potatoes. Our customization wrt addons was not followed and the potatoes were dry. I was very disappointed in comparison to how impressed I was in September, 23. But I'm still giving it 4 stars because the food was still good and I think it was worth 5 stars back then.

Got lunch delivered from here twice in the last week. On both times, the food was so flavorful and fresh and the portions were pretty good. Everything was very delicious! This has quickly become one of my favorite shawarma places in the city!

We decided to ‘eat in’ at this tiny shawarma bar. Amazing!!! Super friendly people, delicious food, generous portions, this could be addictive.

Can't say I'm in the majority here with most of the positive reviews. The price of their Shawarma here is higher than most in Calgary and it has a pungent smell to it. It's quite thin for the price paid. Other than that, the taste is decent but needs more seasoning. The shop is also quite small and fits maybe 10 people max.

If your craving some shawerma in Calgary this is the place to go. The staff are super friendly and they have a good variety of Arabic sandwiches

Tried the place out for the 1st time they had this new beef and lamb shawarma that they have been tryin out...I must say it was AMAZING!! Took me right back to the Mediterranean the flavors in their food hit home the Greek salad was so good I wanted the recipe 😅 also the service was real good and the ppl there r really friendly I will definitely be going back honestly the food was really really good!! We recently discovered this gem and tried it twice so far. It's always busy with orders which is reassuring that food is fresh. To be honest I am currently eating leftovers from yesterday and couldn't but comment how tasty it still is. Even their salad has flavor which most places lack. I highly recommend you try it. It is one of the best if not the top shawarma place I've tried in Calgary so far. Thanks for your hard work

Exaggerated price and bad service! I didn’t like the way they deal with me. I was telling them my first sandwich details, when they started serving other customer. Then he asked me are you done? I told them no, i have just started.They did no action with continuing serving the other customer. I told them this is not appropriate. I came first and not done yet. They said sorry, but nothing happened, they continued serving the other customer. Was totally non respect behaviour

This place is decently far from where we live but every once in awhile, we make the trip to satisfy our shawarma cravings. Service is nice and the food tastes good. The thing I have noticed though is that it takes them awhile to clean the tables sometimes when it’s dirty (there’s a total of 2 tables inside) and there was a couple times where we got slightly dry chicken in our order. That being said, we will continue to go here as this place has one of the better tasting shawarmas in the city.

Tried this place for the first time! I just got a a basic beef donair, or so I thought. This wasn’t basic at all. It was nice and light but crispy on the outside. Then juicy and flavourful inside. My husband got a platter and the rice was delicious. Definitely worth the drive. Thank you for the yummy food and extra garlic sauce! :)

Everything on the menu is so good that on the drive home I regretted not ordering more. The shawarma with the pomegranate sauce was to die for and the mixed plate was delicious! I didn’t even mention the chicken skewer or the baklava. And the service was some of the best we’ve ever had. No contest this is the best Mediterranean food in the city… maybe even Canada!

Pretty good shawarma! Had their chicken and falafel platters and their large chicken shawarma which we asked them to cut in two and it looks pretty big still! The sitting space outside the restaurant is pretty basic and nothing fancy so we went home and ate. Prices are steeper compared to Toronto but portions were good.

Busy, short 3 staff members but staff on duty still smiling and worked through together. Gave us free baklavas for the inconvenient of wait but really it didn't feel that long with the genuine connection. Great food too! 🙂 We had the Arabic plate and mixed platter!
