I just discovered this store, and I am so impressed. Extraordinary variety. Great prices. They had PlaqueOff for cats which is almost impossible to find. It is a bit of a drive for me, but I will come here every time. Friendly service. Most importantly, there is a bulldog sleeping at the cash desk. This is pretty much the only reason I need to come back.

I'm a new customer at Dexter's, and had a great first experience. I used their delivery service (which was free) so I made sure I placed a big enough order to justify it. Their prices were much better than the stores closer to me, and their selection was amazing. Their customer service was excellent and delivery was prompt (next business day). They definitely have my future business.

Another gem within the Ogden area. This store is honestly so much more than a simple store, it is our animals source of quality food and supplies, and the life blood of the neighborhood. For 3 years now, I have been consistently buying all my pet supplies from Dexter's and no one else. They have the best prices, the most helpful and friendly staff. Why did I start shopping at Dexter's? It's this simple. I am disabled. I cannot lug him heavy cat litter and cat food from the grocery store. A friend of mine would always get food and litter delivered from Amazon, so I thought to myself, there must be a local option.. I looked into it, and lo and behold I found Dexters. Who does delivery, so I can support a local establishment, and not attempt to lift heavy bags of litter which causes me pain . Dexter's provides the necessities for my cats and my snake. I simply couldn't get by without them.. I highly recommend Dexter's to anyone. In the neighborhood or not.

I'm a new customer of this store and I will absolutely be back. I live about 30 minutes away from them and decided to venture out after checking out their online store and seeing how much of a difference their prices were on toys vs the standard chain pet stores I go to in the city. It didn't disappoint! They ARE very affordable. I can buy KONG, Jolly etc. toys now in a large or XXL size for what would usually be the price of a small/medium at those other stores. They also offer delivery around Calgary, not sure if it's permanent, hope it is, and I'd love to use it for restocking on purchases. The only downside maybe for some, is their dog toy variety doesn't have many plush like toy options. They have many other kinds of toys and quality brands other stores in Calgary don't carry. Make the drive! Order online! Your wallet and your pet will thank you.

We always shop here for our pet needs, love that we can now get out dog food delivered for free on a regular schedule, that's been something we struggle with so this service has been a game changer! Great prices, excellent loyalty programs and festive promos make this pet shop the best in the City. The shop owner Drew is also amazing and kind and someone we love to see succeeding.

Some of the best prices and selection in the whole city! They have so many products! We used the Shine tag machine and made our dog a new custom name tag! Very neat tool to have in store! Friendly, helpful staff!

Great experience. The staff were all super helpful and knowledgable without being pushy. Prices were also great and we got a very good deal on a dog bed. I will be going here for anything pet related from now on, and you should too :). They also have a points/cashback system which is an added bonus. Check them out!

Absolutely love this little local family run pet store! They have tonnes of Canadian brand foods and pet accessories. They are super friendly even brought all my items to my car for me. They sell our favorite Alberta made dog/cat food brands Acana and Origins!

Aladdin's Cave for pets - Dexter's sells EVERYTHING you could want for ANY pet. At the same price, or cheaper, than any supermarket. They do the most amazing special offers - it's worth popping in just to see what's on offer this week... Drew will get anything in for you, and give you a latte and a hot chocolate for your kids. And a treat for your dog. We go in the cold weather as an outing for the whole family, including the dogs!

Sells food that can give your dog heart disease. Cut my parent's dogs life span in half. They never gave us a word of caution about the expensive brand we bought from them. They either don't know or don't care. To be fair, they aren't doing anything that other stores aren't doing. But we didnt go to other stores. We went to Dexter's. I guess we have to google everything we buy these days. I just expected that a local business specializing in pet care would be up to date on these things. Perhaps that's just too much to ask these days. When my parent's dog passes, I'll remember the food we bought at Dexter's killed her.

Abysmal Betta care on display. Filthy water, and half of them are dead. Shameful

There's a great selection of toys and food/treats! The reason for the 3 stars is every time I've come here, the staff have been kind of.. rude and unapproachable. I am by no means someone who usually complains about these things, but it was uncomfortable. I will go back and try again, but from the few times I've been there, this is my experience.

Dexter's Pet Shop is very affordable and with a great rewards system. The staff are friendly and always willing to help. I don't mind driving out a little further to get my pet's necessities from here.

What a great experience. I input my order at 13:26 today, realized I made an error. Called the store at 13:29, talked to an incredibly nice and understanding person on the phone. 13:32 my order was fixed (substituted product)...order was at my front door at 15:36...1000 thank you's Dexters from me and Boswell (a very excited Frenchie who watched me open the box)!!

This is the best pet shop in the city. No contest. Today I won a candy cane bully stick for our pup and I can’t even remember the last time a big chain store did something like that. If you live in the south and work downtown this is such a great location to pop into on the way home. They have everything. And the people are wonderful. This is local shopping at its best!

Dexter,s is a local pet store named after his dog Dexter who is in the store lounging around. His prices are bar non the best. Plus you get reward points. I'm not entirely sure how many points to redeem stuff. Gotta ask the owner. He is super friendly, very knowledgeable and I love buying my Bailee,s treats there.

Great little Pet Shop. You get top qualify food for your fur babies & excellent service. My mom is older and its hard for her to get around even though she is a 15 minute walk from this store. The delivery service is awesome and every time they stop by they have a treat for my Mom's dog. They also provide better quality food then your large big chain stores and price difference is not that big of deal (especially considering you want to keep you pet healthy). Her dog is 12, a Boxer and going on strong!

This is a fantastic pet store. The owner, Drew is a very nice person that really cares about quality pet products for great prices. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable on everything from allergy shampoos, indestructible toys, to top quality pet food and treats! My go to pet store!

I go here to get food for my bunny and cat. I love the variety of healthy food options available. They also have pets. Its local and I love buying locally. The staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgable. I highly recommend this place. They also have cats available for adoption sometimes. Other animals they have are guinea pigs, dagoos hedgehogs and fish.

Love that this store is local and not owned by a big chain👍👍👍 Great selection of pet food and often have treats you don’t find elsewhere. Last Christmas I won a year’s worth of treats in a draw and they were much appreciated and enjoyed by my pooches. Always worth having a look around as you never know what you might find!

I've stopped in a few times now and the service has always been excellent. I've gotten great suggestions with regards to treats, food and toys. The prices are reasonable and I would recommend it with 5 stars and 2 thumbs up.

Dexters is the best ! I ordered a large case of my dog’s favourite raw dog food. When I ordered a second case he would not touch it. The manufacturer must have tweaked some ingredients in the batch we received. I contacted Dexters for help. Drew not only offered to replace it, he also problem solved and recommended a very similar raw meat product , same manufacturer but just the raw meat and no veggies. Voila problem solved. My dog devoured it. That is customer service at its best! Hats off! Paws down Dexters is the best pet store!

They carry kitten milk replacement at $10+ cheaper than any other store. The prices are insanely good here, great selection and fantastic customer service. A bit of a drive to get here but definitely worth it. I will be back :)

Dexter's is the best! I have been going here exclusively for many years and actually didn't realize I hadn't reviewed it before now. I love the selection, they carry almost everything imaginable, and I know I'm getting the fairest price on quality products. Supporting a true community, independent store just makes me feel all that much better about shopping here.

Super helpful . I got a harness for my big dog it was too big I switched it easily. Also got some dog CBD. Free treat samples and served with a smile! Love to support local shops this is a good one! Got a litter box for 15 bucks !

Love this store! They have such an amazing selection of quality pet food and supplies. They have a great rewards program so if you are loyal and buy all your pet food here it literally pays off!! During the holidays they had a Christmas tree and were giving customers gifts for their pets. Support local and shop at Dexter's.

This has to be my favorite pet store, the owner is so genuinely nice and you can definitely tell that he cares most about you and your pet and the free gifts and festive decoration at Christmas was outstanding. Prices are great and selection is very good.

Nice pet shop with slightly cheaper prices for certain things (dog chew sticks) than other places. Also get 5% discount if it's your first time there. Additionally their loyalty gives you your 11th bag of dog food free. Probably our favourite place to buy things for our dog.

Took a chance and visited the store for the first time today and it did not disappoint! Prices were very fair and the lowest I have seen compared to other pet shops. Great variety and assistance from Drew and another gentlemen today. Very happy with our purchase and will definitely return for our future pet needs!
