I called this clinic on a Saturday morning to see if they had any appointments available for the day. The receptionist asked if I had been there before, I said no. She proceeded to book an appointment for 240 pm. I was early for the appointment and when I showed up, the waiting room was full. The receptionist then told me that because I had never been to that clinic before, even though I called earlier to book an appointment, that I had to wait 2 hours minimum because the doctor was behind. This left me with zero time to book another appointment at another clinic as most offices close by 3 pm on a Saturday. Clear lack of respect for my time along with poor communication skills of the receptionist.

I have been going there for about 8 years and Doctor Awan is always thorough. The problem is the reception at the front. I once showed up for a scheduled appointment only to be told the doctor was sick. No notice or phone call to advise me or to change my appointment. I had a second appointment and showed up on time and as scheduled. Was told the appointment was scheduled for 3 days later.I would have never agreed to that appointment they said I had made since I wouldn’t have been In the country. I understand that mistakes happen, but both times I have had to take time out of my busy schedule. When I brought up my concerns with Dr.Awon I was scolded like I had made the mistake. The reviews speak for themselves.

I’ve been going to Northland medical for a few years now. Dr.awan seems to not care about me as a patient. Terrible doctor. I’ve been peeing blood for a few days now and sent me to get urine, blood, X-ray, and ultrasound to see what was wrong. And was on urgent results list. And booked an appointment to see him for the results. And is now away for 2 weeks. Was an over the phone appointment and tells me to go to the hospital because he doesn’t know. I asked if he could look at the results and again said he did not know. So he didn’t care to even look. Pathetic.

My husband and I never had a single good visit here over three years. Dr Zang would barely look at you, would rush you, make you feel like you were a waste of time, and wouldn't hear more than one issue per visit. Every issue we had was brushed off. maybe had he listened to the Different issues I was having, rather than one at a time he would have been able to diagnose me properly. Went to another doctor years later and am finally receiving the help, refferals, and medication I needed to get better. My husband has lost all faith in medical doctors. He sees some alternatives but thinks all doctors will treat him as poorly.

Horrible receptionists i have been a patient at this clinic for years and the receptionists are just horrible. I had called on a Wednesday to book an appointment to see my doctor, the receptionist said we don’t have any space until next Monday but you can walk in on Saturday at 10:30 cause that’s when we do walk ins, so I wait until Saturday and walk in at 10:30 and the receptionist says “we don’t do walk ins anymore we are no longer a walk in clinic” even though it says online they do them and someone told me 3 days ago that they do walk ins so I leave and call to make a phone appointment. The earliest appointment date is Tuesday at 9:15 so Tuesday at 9:15 rolls around i wait all day and don’t receive a call. At this rate I’ll be dead before I can even speak to my family doctor. Don’t know what the point of having a family doctor is if its near impossible to see them. The hours also suck 9:00-4:00 they aren’t even open for 8 hours. I like Dr Awan but I will be looking at other clinics due to the receptionists here.

this one star is dedicated to the receptionist for not understanding my question of " Does Dr Hazem work in your clinic?". and she replied by " we don't accepted walk-in" on top of keep cutting me not letting me to finish. guess i am not their patient, so no need to be polite. i think this receptionist just tells something about this clinic.

Came here with my girlfriend for the first time because our regular clinic was closed for the weekend. The waiting room was completely full, and with only one attending physician, the time to see a doctor was excruciating - understandable due to the circumstances. BUT: Normally if you go to a clinic while bleeding, you are given priority to be attended to. My girlfriend had to wait almost 2 hours with a bad cut to her hand, while an elderly lady was complaining about chest pain. Two patients that should have had priority, did not get seen in priority sequence. The physician (I would have named him, but he did not greet us), seemed rushed and inattentive. After asking about the cut and vaccination history, he promptly took out a Tetanus vaccine...without even asking for permission. My girlfriend has a phobia of needles and after mentioning that, he got extremely defensive, used scare tactics and rushed out of the room saying he has to leave because other people need to see him. We weren't sure what to do, and awkwardly left the clinic. I understand medical clinics get busy, but doctors swear by an oath to provide quality care to all patients. The front end staff were welcoming, efficient, and friendly. However, I will not be returning to this clinic for my health care needs. Thank you.

I used to see Dr Charlie Zhang at this clinic. He was always approachable, supportive, polite and friendly. I am very grateful for his help and advice. When he was all booked up, I used to see another doctor (Dr Awan, as far as I remember). He was also nice. They both were knowledgeable. As for the receptionists, I never had any issues with them (I was surprised to see negative reviews). They were always welcoming and professional.

One should not feel entitled as a patient. The medical help is there, yes. But one doesn't need to be discouraged with anothers' behavior when they don't get something. Alberta's health care is free, yes. But getting what you need from it starts with a good attitude, a nice "please", and patience to see what happens after you get any results. Also connecting the dots of where <- >if + what you can actually do there. Yes the doctors are professionals - so maybe this office just asks you to be informed with how you'll get something and what you know you'll get. Can do attitudes + time management really helped me there. Or, else I'd technically not have gotten the help coming prepared (with can do attitude/my own time management skills) otherwise.

Tarik Awan has got to be the most useless doctor I have ever interacted with. I have never once had him fix an issue, he just loves hearing himself talk.

I would give this clinic a ZERO RATING. The staff especially the manager here is a joke. Very very rude, disrespectful, very unprofessional. This clinic cares more about the MONEY and not the patients. And everytime you want to book an appointment with the doctor no matter how urgent your condition is, staff would always tell you the doctor is fully booked and next opening would be in two to three weeks. Every single time. The doctor is too busy to see you. I would make sure people know about this on social media.

Doctors in the clinic are really good but the receptionist is too rude. May be she has problem at home and she brings it work with her.

If you are looking for a walk-in clinic, do not go to this one. It looks like it take 1.5 to 2 hours for the clinic to just issue One position for walk-in patients, while patients with appointment do get to see doctors right away with zero waiting time. In other words, if the clinic is not fully booked, walk-in patients might be able to see doctor soon, otherwise, wait for 1.5-2 hours even you are the first walk-in patient.

Went here for years for some reason and I would never go back. Not even sure why I stayed that long. Front desk is horrible. Their wait times are ridiculous. Dr Awan is extremely biased and judgemental. There have been multiple times where he has talked to my parents about the things I’m doing in my life that I had told him in confidence during my appointment times with him. Pretty sure that goes against the privacy act of Alberta as it’s supposed to be confidential and I’m over the age of 18 or is it not ?….. He’s way too opinionated to be someone I could trust with my health and life. No thanks. He’s proven time and time again that’s he a terrible person. Would give 0 stars if I could. Don’t go here !!!!!

Dr nyunt kyi does not feel like professional help. I have been getting sick 6-7 times a year and I mention this to her when I do get sick and ask if there’s a way to reduce that number and she has always dodged the answer or answers with something that doesn’t help. It has been up to me to contact and solve any health issues and I would have to follow up with her just for her to say “oh wow it looks good”. Planning on switching doctors asap.

Lied about being a walk-in clinic, they only take appointments. They also acted super exasperated with me that I dared walk on there with a medical issue needing attention. They didn't even have any clinics that exist on google maps that they could refer me to, giving up trying after one minute.

This clinic is ridiculous , only Covid matters .I have been coughing for like five weeks , no Covid symptom, it’s more like CVA. The receptionist rejected my appointment request because of I don’t have Covid test result. What a world! I called another walk in clinic, they told me five weeks coughing without symptom definitely not Covid. The receptionist was so nice and booked an appointment for me ASAP.

Dr Charlie Zhang is the best doctor i have ever been to. He listens to what i have to say and add his own thoughts to the symptoms. I would recommend him to anyone.

Went there as a walk-in …no patient was sitting in the waiting area and I asked receptionist for doctor appointment…she told me that they don’t accept walk-in…no more family doctor applications…and no waitlist…wow great doctors in Canada.

I like our doctor but it is practically impossible to get what you need from the staff who work at the front. We booked in an appointment today to have forms completed and a full medical check and upon arrival they mention that we never booked for that and they don't have time to accommodate. Not sure how they expect patients to make time in their work schedules and then they don't hold up their end and schedule appointments appropriately.

The reception let a lady in before me even I'm ahead of her. The reason she explained just because that lady didn't wear mask. It that funny? Clinic don't prepare mask?
