Staff are very helpful and cheerful which is nice to see. It is a very clean, older but well looked after hotel and the beds are comfortable, i don't have a dog but it was nice to see they were welcome. Included hot breakfast looked good even though I chose to order off menu, the coffee was very good too. Starbucks Verona in rooms so will assume restaurant uses it too.

I have had an extended stay here over winter, so I feel like long enough to say , I love this place! It is across from a lovely board walk and park on the waterfront, with the main street of a beautiful little town , restaurants , shops, amazing art , murals, sea side vibe Good parking. Nice well kept older building Always Very clean. Nice relaxing feel. The entire staff here is consistently friendly , nice, helpful and seem happy here, which speaks volumes to me. And a big shout out to the kitchen staff for great service and delicious food !♡ Thank You!, Ann.E.

Guests should know during summer stays that the room they are booking does not have AC. Please just throw out the gross rubber mats in your bathrooms. They're dirty, stained, falling apart and I can't understand why you would even leave it there for guests to use. Also, your cleaning staff should be made aware that the BACK of the bathroom door needs to be cleaned. I stay in Campbell River often and won't be back to this hotel.

Hotel was a total let down. Was told there was ac when in fact all there was, was a fan. Phoned to ask why we were told it had ac. The lady said only certain areas have ac. And that our room didn’t. We asked to switch and we were not allowed. There wasn’t even fitted sheets on the bed. Bathroom had a fowl smell as well. Had to ask 4 times to have the shower curtain replaced, that stunk of urine. Overall not happy.

They do NOT have AIr Conditioning in every room. Buyer beware! We are paying $500 for 2 nights July 29-30, it’s 34 degrees outside and the room is just as hot! Ask for the marine side rooms which apparently have AC.

My son's school booked rooms at this hotel for a school soccer tournament. My son's stay was a complete disaster thanks to the severe bed bug infestation in the room he was assigned. He came home covered in itchy painful bites. I called the hotel and the managements response to our complaint was equally appalling. Only saying they would get house keeping to clean the room again. This is a much bigger problem then cleaning the room! I've had to throw away some of my sons items as I do not want them in my house. I urge anyone considering this hotel to think twice before making a reservation here. If you value your health and sanity, avoid this hotel like the plague!

I had booked 3 rooms for an overnight stay at the beginning of July. Pros: Consistent with previous experiences at other Coast hotels, the staff and service was excellent. We enjoyed the free breakfast buffet in a nice eating area which provided a lot of different food options. Cons: However, I was quite surprised that none of the rooms had air conditioning. All that was provided were tower fans that were placed by the windows. We also didn't notice much ventilation in the bathroom. We were also disappointed that the hot tub was not working as well.

I stayed here for 4 nights this past week. At check in, I asked the front desk staff about the bed bug issue reported in a previous recent review. Employee was honest and told me that there was an issue in the tower that was being treated. I was assured my room was nowhere near that affected rooms. I did not see any bed bugs, nor did I get any bites. However, the paranoia made me not enjoy my stay. I kept all my belongings in plastic garbage bags the entire time and couldn't really settle in. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Restaurant served me a burger that was very raw in parts. Server offered to have another one made up, but by then I was turned off. Server did not offer a discount on the meal. Rooms are dated. Bathroom fan didn't work at all, curtains were dirty and old, noticed a cockroach outside my door one morning. Overall, I can't recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.

I've stayed in Coast Discovery Inn in early November. After saying there, I got bed bug bites and emailed its director but no follow up. The restaurant is also terrible. I ordered sea food pasta. There were lots of clam shells and ruined the dinner.

It;s a pleasant hotel to stay in. Roons are clean and well maintained. but.. On Nov 25,2022 we booked one night to celebrate our 35th Wedding anniversary. We inquired about their "prime rib night" which has been a favourite of ours for some time. We were assured that it would be available when we made the reservation, when we confirmed the reservation and when we checked in. When we asked the dining room they advised us that it was not available and we could not have dinner until 7:30 because they had a large xmas banquet. We will readily admit that the dining staff were overwhelmed with the banquet. Eventually we were offered and accepted a reasonable settlement and did manage to enjoy our meal. Breakfast is very good with sea, bled eggs and sausages, Coffeys and juice. A thank you to the dining room manager and Mackenzie who was our server in the dining room. She made it all special for us.

The only reason this is getting two stars is because of the updated lobby. The rooms are small smell horrible and are not cleaned properly. Stains on my duvet and finger prints on the mirrors and taps with a view looking into a gas station. Highly recommend finding a different spot. The outside of the hotel is in need of a revamp/ repair. As a pilot who stays in multiple hotels I would not recommend staying here. Driving down the main road you will pass a nice looking comfort inn and suites unsure of the rooms but would recommend looking into staying there if able for campbell river.

We stayed 2 nights. We were in "the tower" which I think is an older part of the hotel. The age showed in the single glazing, no air con and there's a lot of wiring or ducting visible in the corridors, presumably updating fire alarms and such over the years. The room was bright, clean, modern (despite the age of the building) and very pleasant. There were two fans. Add in an opening window and we were able to get a comfortable temperature. In hotter months you might struggle. The staff were friendly and helpful but staff shortages (all too common) meant that some of the facilities were not consistently open. I'd happily stay again. Just one gripe, PLEASE replace the carpet in the lift... ugh!

The front desk staff here are all very professional. My room and the facilities here are all very clean. The water view in my room was excellent. Breakfast here was good as well. Can’t ask for more, will stay here again.

Rooms are older but renovated. No AC! Room was very warm. Bed didn't have a fitted sheet. Bathroom was very small and the counter/sink area was very low. Skip the complimentary breakfast. $300 a night for this, not worth it. I'm being generous with 2 stars.

Nice, clean, quiet rooms. Very nice staff at restaurant. Enjoyed the stay.

Bed was comfy and room was clean but the first room we went into was a disaster so had to get a second. Then we were awake all night due to noisy neighbors. Probably wouldn't stay here again.

Disappointed that the hot tub was closed for maintenance and that this information was not disclosed ahead of time. I would have chosen a different hotel if I had known. Breakfast was not great (cheap white bread, rubbery eggs, and single-serve condiments), and used tickets so you can only go in once (no coming back for more coffee). No glasses in the rooms, just plastic-wrapped Starbucks cups. Lots of plastic in general, which was disappointing. Will stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites if I return to Campbell River; it's only a few dollars more per night and has many more amenities.

This...ain't it. The location is convenient and you'll likely appreciate it as you won't want to spend much of your time in the hotel or rooms. They're dated, no A/C, (fans to move the air but this really only goes so far--it's stuffy), no glassware (disposable cups and a grey plastic tub for the ice bin) and things are pretty bare bones. Hot tub/"health club" was not working and was subsequently closed which was not communicated or posted anywhere; ice machine was broken. Overall, lacklustre.

It was a nice stay, until a strange guy with a cigarette in his mouth, a crown on the head and a bear mask ran through the corridors shouting "Hey Bär, Ho Bär" or "Bis du Deppert", along with a pumped-up Austrian who was flexing his biceps. Very wild experiences.

Hotel and restaurant were nice. Low rating because i asked about the hot tub , was told they have one and it is running. 2 days later i arrived and it did not work. Was told at that point that it had been down a few days before i booked and would not be up for a while. Felt decieved.

We recently had our wedding reception at the DI and highly recommend their services. They were very accommodating, AMAZING food and pleasant staff. Rhonda was a pleasure to work with. We cannot recommend them enough.

I enjoyed my stay here. Clean and comfortable for a three star. All staff were friendly. Would have given five stars but no working elevator or air-conditioning. Overall though great value.

We had a pleasant two night stay. Beds are comfy and I was pleased to find fluffy robes in the closet. The Dyson fan was a huge bonus, as we always sleep with a fan and my husband likes a lot of air movement. The staff were friendly and helpful. We are Coast members, so I asked if we could be upgraded to an ocean view room and my request was granted. I also made use of the workout centre. Hopefully the hot tub will be working soon.

Tidy rooms and nice staff. I felt uncomfortable at check out as drunk people were also checking out at 11am and there is nowhere to sit in the lobby. Clearly they book rooms for people to party in. Glad I wasn’t next to one.

Great staff and service. Been staying there every week for 1-2 nights since July 2022. Will continue for another 6 or more months. Great location downtown. :-)

Very clean and comfortable room. Excellent value for the price. We would definitely stay again if we are back in Campbell River for a night

I would have rated this 4/5 because it’s great for what you pay for and most of the staff is wonderful, however it lost another star because the woman who checked us out today was rude. When my partner checked us out, she completely ignored him & didn’t respond when he said “have a nice day”. SHE forgot to charge us our pet fee and when she called to receive the payment, I asked she call back later (as I had no phone service) and she started lecturing ME about it not being her job to call and ask for payment. Actually… it is her job and had she provided us customer service when we were trying to check out, this wouldn’t have been a problem.

Staff is very friendly. I am especially pleased by the excellent service of Emily who took care of my breakfast during my 5 day stay at the hotel. She is super nice and sweet.

I booked a room with 2 queen beds over the phone. This reservation was non-refundable. Upon arrival I was informed that there is no elevator. ok. When I finally found my room (the stairs are unmarked and 2 separate sets are needed to get to the 4th floor) my room was 2 double beds. Also the doors do not fully close behind you if you do not pull them shut, and i accidentally went out and left my room open. The fish and chips from the restaurant were amazing. The staff is delightful.

The staff was friendly and professional. The interior of the hotel was clean and the room was nice. At breakfast, the eggs and bacon I had were delicious. However the fruit salat looked good as well.

Affordable, friendly staff, relatively quiet experience and we went during a busy week when the fair was in town. Only issue was the heater in our room was busted so at night it was very hot. It felt like most of the heat was coming from the bathroom so we had to keep the light on randomly and close the door. Keeping the light on seemed to open up a bit of a vent. We have small children and I found the large windows SHOULD have a safety feature such as a tethered window restrictor. This is a very inexpensive childproofing safety feature. We were on the 5th floor and the windows are very large and can open out completely. The height of these windows start a little over hip level for a taller adult. So we did not feel comfortable having the windows open with the kids. Wanting the window opened wouldn't have been an issue if the heater wasn't stuck on full. Other than that, it's affordable safe hotel with a good breakfast, great staff.

We stopped here for a night as the roads were closed for our onward journey. The hotel is great with ocean views. Rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was great too. I recommend

We stayed a few nights while we travelled up island to visit family. Friendly service and AMAZING room service. Rooms were clean, and felt like a home away from home. Will definitely be staying again, and definitely recommend it

It's was alright, but a bit expensive for a three stars. The room had been renovated, the bathroom was alright, but one end bath is tighter than the other one, there is no handle on the wall to get out and no room around the bath to put a bottle of shampoo or a beer. There was a one seater and a chair in my room and both were disgusting. The gray one seater had some dark, oily spots and hairs from unknown origin and the fake leather on the chair has been peeling for a while now. Time to toss these out and get something new. Great location though. Right across the pier/marina and a lot of restaurants around. The area is pretty quiet during the night.

Beds are really comfortable. I stayed on one side of the hotel and had AC in my room and my friends were on the other side and had no AC. Staff was friendly. Food was ok.
