My husband and I loved this place we came here everyday for breakfast. We did the full course meal experience where we tried a little bit of everything. As they served each course they explained in detail how it’s prepared. The passion fruit juice is so refreshing and freshly squeezed. Everything is freshly cooked, homemade and delicious. Definitely recommend!!

This is definitely one of the best places to eat in Cancun. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure our breakfast was enjoyable. The owner was very knowledgeable of the local ingredients and really made you feel welcome. The food was fresh and the prices were very affordable. Please stop by and experience high-quality authentic food you won't get at the many hotels in Cancun.

Wow wow WOW. We had a couple breakfasts here and they were very good so when the owner Hugo offered up a private 7 course Mayan dinner we were game. Amazing in every aspect. The food was so tastefully done and every course was delicious. Not overly spiced or bland. We brought our own beer and tequila since he does not carry any. We previously went to Ristaurante La Habichuela which was very good but this dinner surpassed the flavors and the personal touch. Hugo is truly proud of his heritage and his cooking definitely showed it. I highly recommend breakfast or lunch and if you appreciate learning about the foods of other cultures then this is the dinner for you. AMAZING!!

Great authentic spot in Cancun (something you don't find in the area!) I came here for breakfast and had the chilaquiles with eggs and chicken which was excellent and well priced (155 pesos). Hugo was super helpful and attentive and you could tell he was passionate about his food.

The food was absolutely amazing and very affordable! I had the chilaquiles and I will be going back to have them again. My sister tried the molletes. The restaurant is locally owned and beautiful inside. The server and the owners were really nice and helpful.

This place was very cute and hidden. It definitely looks like a deli but you are welcome to go in and eat your food! Customer service was amazing! Pancakes and omelet was great! I tried the tamarind water and was very pleased!

We found this place on Google and decided to try it because of the good reviews. It’s a small, unassuming “convenience store” from the outside, but the food and service were absolutely amazing. Neither of us speak Spanish, but the server did a wonderful job of getting our orders and explaining menu items despite the language barrier. My boyfriend and I both had the green juice — best smoothie I’ve had in a while. The owner came out and shared some Mexican history with us and offered us some fresh baked goods. I ordered the turkey croissant and it was fantastic, my boyfriend got the “bandido torta” - a massive sandwich full of several different fresh deli meats. We both left with full bellies and got some fresh baked goods to go. If you’re up for wandering a short walk away from all the big resorts, I totally recommend this place!

For our last day in Cancun, we wanted our “last meal” to feel authentic + Deli Barlovent overdelivered in every single way. The owner is unbelievably kind + takes immense pride in his restaurant. He recommended (with great knowledge) a couple of dishes to try and they were absolutely DELICIOUS!! 😋 We started with the Green Mayan juice (a must) and guacamole (amazing). Then we shared traditional chilaquiles + papadzul. Both were outstanding. We were fortunate to try local cactus, 15 pepper hot sauce and a green hot sauce (mildly spicy and so much flavour). This restaurant truly felt like farm to table in the most authentically flavourful way. Do yourself a favour when in Cancun … EAT here! Your taste buds will thank you. Save room for dessert (the purple potatoes with cinnamon was a pleasant surprise!)

I loved this place. It was an authentic restaurant with “home-made taste”. I recommend it. The owner is a very kind man that really respects the clients. He shared stories of how he got recipes of foods from his mother. We ordered coffees as drink and supreme burrito and croissant sandwich and we enjoyed it

Probably the best food we ate while in Cancun. Great breakfast food. Even better people and service!! We had the Chilaquiles (not pictured), took one bite and it was gone before i could get the pic. Pictured, is the Avocado toast and Chorizo toast. They gave us free cornbread and ice cream for our anniversary. Highly reccommended!!

Our food was fantastic. The service was awesome and the muffin was probably the best I’ve ever had. The guacamole with the chili sauces in it was amazing. I had the breakfast burrito supreme and it was so good with the mango sauce. My girlfriend had the burrito Tex mex and also said it was fantastic.

It’s is absolutely amazing what you get when you dig a little deeper past all the main places. This place was a huge hit. From the atmosphere to the host, the cook, and everything in between. They absolutely take care of you. The horchata was devine and refreshing. The hamburger was cooked to perfection with a good amount of guacamole. It is absolutely made from the heart and run by a caring group of people.

A hidden gem! This is some of the most delicious food I've tasted in my life! Everything is cooked to order and made on the spot. Very friendly service, and a great vibe overall. We had Mexican coffee and chocolate, Mayan "Hummus" made from pumpkin seeds, avocado toast, and my favorite: Papadzul- "Corn tortilla stuffed with hard-boiled egg and bathed with ground pepita and a touch of regional spices bathed in red tomato sauce and sprinkled with toasted and ground pepita." Thank you for making me fall in love with Yucatecan food!

Jugó is a great host. Their tamarind sauce is very appetizing. Their Yucatecan Pork leg torta is also really good, paring it with the tamarind sauce is fantastic. The vibe of the place is very comfortable and the speed is great

Came to this place having seen the impressive reviews, but perhaps we came at a wrong time or ordered the wrong dishes. It took a long time before our order was taken and food arrived, perhaps an hour after we first got seated. Admittedly, there were several other groups that came in at the same time too and it’s a small kitchen. Having ordered the recommended dishes (burrito), it wasn’t that impressive given the relatively higher price point. Still decent food and drinks no doubt! But my expectations might’ve been set too high given the high praise on other reviews.

Wonderful breakfast/lunch location! Staff was so kind, ordering was easy, and sat in a cute shaded outdoor patio area. Amongst my group of four we got the green maya juice, papadzul (pictured), club sandwich (pictured), vegetarian nachos, and breakfast burrito. Everyone was very happy with their meals! Absolutely worth visiting.

A very fairly-priced, intimate little eatery off the beaten path that we highly recommend! Try their chilaquiles! Both the green and the red are absolutely delicious and the portions are satisfying. Our waitress/chef was very pleasant. Added bonus is that they have (granted, very limited) indoor seating with A/C -- perfect for when we walked over at midday.

The BEST meal I’ve had in Cancún. The hospitality, the history behind each carefully shared meal, & the gluten-free care is incredible. We came for brunch & had a lovely experience. We enjoyed green Maya juice, papazul, guacamole, chilaquiles Barlovento & a dessert made with sweet potatoes, cinnamon and Agave. Also, our Apple Maps did not pick up this location, but Google got us here no problem.

Very nice place with delicious food. We had omelette and bannana milk shake which was the best shake I have ever had. We had a pleasant talk with the owner who explained us details about the food we had - special mexican sauce. We will definitely come back and I really recommend everyone to visit this place, it is worth it!

Small place, a little bit hidden in the back but definetly worth visiting! Delicious, fresh, home-made food with very good prices. We had club sandwich and hamburger and both were very tasty. It was so great that we decided to have breakfast there everyday instead of our expensive hotel one. The stuff is really friendly and helpful. It's easy to comunicate in English and they have English menu too. The Best place to eat in Cancun!

10/10 recommend! My fiancé and I wanted a local place with authentic breakfast food and this place did not disappoint! The owner greeted us and gave us recommendations off the menu and was super kind. Great local place with a welcoming feeling. I ordered the motulenos eggs and my fiancé got the Bandido torta — both were amazing and flavorful. 100% recommend both as options.

We almost passed this place up because it's tucked back in off the main road just a minute walk back. I'm so glad we didn't. The food was the best we've had all week and it was probably the cheapest too. We're currently contemplating if we have time to go back for breakfast tomorrow before we have to get to the airport. Highlight meal of our entire trip! Thank you so much.

Small and inviting, family owned feel. The owner sat with us the whole time and talked about the ingredients he uses and recommended places to visit. The food is absolutely fantastic. We loved everything about our experience. If you want the local and authentic experience, this is it. Smoothies/Aquas are fresh and delicious and we HIGHLY recommend the chilaquiles!

The best place to eat in Cancun full stop. Came here everyday that we stayed in Cancun (despite staying in el-Rey and requiring a 20 min bus ride). Fair priced, absolutely delicious and authentic, kind and thoughtful. They can do no wrong. Recommend the hot chocolate, the chilaquiles, the tortas, and the huevos motuleños. Come here and come here often!
