Delicious fresh food with amazingly friendly service. We've had the Tacos, Burrito and Ceviche. And it was all amazing! They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. None tourist place just right behind the main streets. Highly recommended!

A previous reviewer was absolutely correct about this place. It's a gem. One of the locals steered me here, and from the moment I walked in I was treated like their best customer. I'm in Cancun for dental work, and my diet is limited. I asked for something easy to chew and, without hesitation, they made me a meal that wasn't on the menu. The entire staff is great, but stop in and tell Victor I sent you. You won't be disappointed.

We'd just gotten a couples massage & pedicures & decided to take advantage of parking & walk around. A gentleman in front of this place stopped us & asked if we were hungry. As it happens, we were so we decided to give it a shot. We'd intended on having just a snack of three tacos between us, but the first trio was so good we ordered a second. We got a shrimp, a chicken & a pork for the first trio, but the pork was so good we decided to skip the chicken for the second trio. Very tasty & generous portions. I skipped the spicy sauce but the wife loved it. She's not much of a pork eater either, but gladly helped with both trios. Found out afterwards that we'd found one of the better street 🌮 vendors in the area. I was surprised to see the reviews, not because La Probadita doesn't deserve it, but I just didn't realize it was that well-known. In fact, the only ding I gave it was on atmosphere, because basically the location is nothing special. It's in a strip mall comprised mainly of souvenir shops and massage spas. That said, it's central to a number of tourist hotels so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Anyway, it was the wife's first authentic Mexican food, & she's sold so already she's talking of a second trip.

We actually stumbled on the place after landing in cancun, I believe one of the guys names was Franklin. The customer service was super he waited us took our orders and made our food! That man needs a raise , the bartenders drinks were strong,I was salsaing on the dancefloor... highly recommend for authentic made with love food

Yummmm! Food was great. Servers were nice. Loved the chalkboard menu, they would pull it over to your table. Guacamole. Tacos (pork shrimp or steak) or tostados.

Food was good and prices were good, but... i noticed another american complaining about extra charges on his bill. I decided to look at my receipt. The waiter kept trying to take my card and not letting me hold the receipt. When i finally saw it, there were extra charges. The waiter went to his boss who was looking at me like he wanted to fight. They ended up giving me some pesos for the "mistake" but charging my card the full amount.

Stopped in last night with a group of 12 people traveling from Cleveland.. Staying across the street and was told by a hotel employee that this is a perfect place to go.. He couldn’t have been more right.. The owner, who was also our waiter welcomed us with open arms and immediately put tables together so that we could be seated right away.. We started off with hand crafted cocktails and fresh made guacamole!! This was a great start to an amazing evening.. We all chose to go with different types of tacos, so we could share.. They even had vegetarian tacos for one of our guests.. Everything was made to order and was fresh and delicious!! The shrimp was cooked perfectly in a garlic butter before it was put in the tacos. The skirt steak & pork were seasoned to perfection and cooked soft and delicious.. The music was an upbeat vibe and the staff had great energy!! Everyone in our group had such an awesome time!! I highly recommend La Probadita if you are looking for an amazing experience!! We all gave it a 10 out of 10!!

Food was great and Frank was very friendly. Prices where great and portions were good. It was hard to find, need to get some signage.

Hand crafted cocktails, truly worth a little walk from the main strip! We came back for a second night. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the tourist trap spots and come get a truly great drink.

The best place we ate while in Cancun. The prices are great and the portions are huge. The shrimp ceviche is fresh and amazing and enough for 2 or to share for a table. The taco plate and sandwiches are also great. The pork is so delicious and tender. I was happy to come back to eat here multiple times. All the staff is also super friendly and the service is fast. The location is also very nice, and is mostly shaded all day so the outdoor seating stays relatively cool. There’s even a slight breeze that come down the stone alleyway that’s lined with happy hanging plants that makes the spot even more enjoyable.

The food here is excellent and similar price to anywhere else in Cancun. The Taco Mix (3 tacos shrimp, beef and pork) were really good. Ate here twice during my stay.

Excellent tacos—we had the shrimp and the pulled pork. Franklin was awesome and went above and beyond to help our 4 year old also have a good meal. They prepared a plate of pineapple and quesadillas for her even though those are not on the menu. Muchas gracias!

Exceptional spot! Little restaurant with inside/outside sitting, fantastic fresh food and great drinks! Service is phenomenal! Highly recommend

This is a great find if you’re looking for great local food. The portions are amazing for the price and the taste is even better. Service is fast and they’re so sweet. It started to lightly rain during our meal and they ran out to make sure we were covered by the awning. 10/10
