We went for the shusi special recently and to compare the experience with the previous experience was very shocking. The waitresses was unhelpful upon arrival after phoning numerously and being told its "just a walk in" special and when arriving we were told we should have booked a place. The belt was not being filled but when our food came it was amazing 😋 just a little better management would do wonderful

A lovely piece of hair on my sushi. No apology, the waiter just took it away. Do not recommend. The waiter did not bring the manager or even try to make it right. I had to inspect every piece of sushi my partner and I ate after that. The sushi belt itself was dirty. Pieces of food and hair. A bit of soap goes a long way!

What a delightful experience with friends. Visited on a Friday night, and we took the sushi buffet. All the sushi was very delicious and the variety was good on the slider. We were served by waiter Donné and received excellent and fast service. I recommend going on an empty stomach, because you will just want more!

We went for sushi at Asami's in Tygervalley on 25 July 2021 and attended the evening 18H00 - 20H00 buffet session. We were served by Cole Jensen. When we placed our order for drinks one of our friends ordered water, and because he didn't hear that Cole was organising a jug, he received a few sarcastic remarks from Cole. Cole sarcastically asked my friend "Are you also deaf in the left ear?" and this was a total put off from the start. At dessert time almost everything was out of stock, and Cole joked so much about everything, it really didn't feel like he took any of our questions seriously. Also, we had to repeatedly ask for napkins. Also, the kitchen closes at 19H30. It is recommended that you inform a customer about this when the buffet session start because we had to ask Cole about this as well. The food was great though and we could at least secure our bookings via their new WhatsApp system, which was positive part of the evening. Sorry Asami's, but this was not the way to end our day.

It's very refreshing to get a place that can take your attention away from burgers or chicken. Because that's the first items we think of when we want to eat out. So,we tried Asami's and wow a very very gud alternative to the above-mentioned fast foods. Stunning atmosphere and the location is beautiful. Kids loved it, because for them it was a food adventure coz they watch K dramas way too much. We loved the food and I would recommend it to anyone who want to try something else.

We visited Asami's on a Saturday night. Although they were very busy, the service was quick, friendly, and efficient. We ordered a platter to share for R165. The sushi was really very good. I will definitely visit them again.

Friendly staff, a refreshing experience to taste South Africa’s take on Asian cuisine. Sushi made in a sandwich style was great, since I’ve never had that before, and we got a fresh pack of noodles for free from the noodle Monday promo!

I do love sushi, and the great thing about Asami is that the sushi is really fresh. I know that's odd to say as one would expect fresh food when dining out, but overall the food was very fresh which is very important when it comes to seafood. However, I did find their portions small even when advertising R285 for 50 pieces, when said pieces are half the size than some takeaways for half the price. I think their buffet is a better option at R199 for all you can eat, but I suggest you go really hungry. It was a nice restaurant, but I have had better and slightly faster service from other established sushi places. Not a bad place to eat, on the contrary, but for those on a budget and with winter looming, I would recommend a good takeaway sushi place and stay indoors to watch some movies.

The sushi was amazing and fresh !! But getting a drink that isn't up to the description give on the table talker is a bit annoying and the service leaves something to be desired. If you are keen for a good time and dont mind raising your hand like a school boy everytime you want service, definitely give it a go.😁

Honestly one of the best sushi buffets I've been to. The R179 buffet is really worth it. The sushi off the menu is fresh and delicious. The staff is overall very friendly and helpful.

Absolutely phenomenal dining experience! Brilliant and friendly staff. We had the all you can eat for R149 and it did not disappoint. From the salmon roses to the prawn nigiri, every ingredient used was fresh and delicious. This is definitely my new sushi spot. Keep up the amazing work guys!

Would benefit from a family style seating area, especially for smaller kids but otherwise excellent. Menu options are fantastic and included fruit and desserts. Our waiter had good knowledge of the menu and could advise the best options for not overspending when dining out with a 4 year old they also insisted on having sushi. New family favourite location. Sushi is delicious!

The service isn't great as they appear short-staffed and the lighting is dull. I ordered for the duck spring rolls and it was terrible!!! I am a foodie and hardly spit food out of my mouth but I had to throw this out. It was that bad. However I totally enjoyed the calamari. I loved the fact that it was lightly breaded and simply seasoned. The waitress who attended to us was lovely.

The food was average. I've had a lot better. The service was good, the waiter came around a few times to check up on us. She also kept us up to date with our order because there was a bit of a delay which I didn't mind because I was informed of the delay and the reason. The atmosphere was terrible. Could be because the time I visited the place. The lighting was really poor.

Buffet is R179, but they have various specials on different days. Like a Tuesday they have buy one get one free. Seating around their very long belt or on their sofa or normal table seating. Sushi are good, small piece and tasty. Rice at times are sweet, but with soya sauce, tastes great. I would recommend this place. Oh and they have deliciously fried ice cream

Overall a good place to go out for a lovely meal. Probably one of my favourite places to go for sushi. (Especially the crunch combo)

The service is as good as it can get for a sushi place. But the food got me nauseated. Oily and just purely disgusting. I have never ever had such oily noodles in my life. Will not recommend

The tables were not clean (stickiness), and the seats were not clean but the service was good and they accommodated my need to make use of their online specials. I love that their prices are reasonable and the sushi is fresh. They're a busy establishment so be patient here. Milkshakes and Virgin cocktails are a generous size!

Heard a lot about this place, always see it busy as well. Finally went to eat there. Wanted something with tempura prawn and roses, combo 1 worked. The tempura prawn and cheese was a shock, they put processed cut cheese on my sushi? Like seriously? Firstly looked wrong, and tasted weird. We also waited forever to be served, sat for over 15min, but we were talking so we didn't notice it until we did.

Love their sushi although the deep fried could be a little less soggy. but overall everything was amazing.

Went there on 8 October 2022 just after 4pm. The waitress was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Note, there is a waiting time on drinks (alcohol or not). The cosmopolitan (wrong glass though) was devine but the blue drink was not. Average hot chocolate and chocolate milkshake. The sushi wasn't too bad (had salmon sushi, unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the sushi). Reasonably priced. Had to pay my bill in front (not sure why) but all good. It appears to be a cool place to chill. Music wasn't too loud. I brought my nephew (aged 12) here to eat sushi as it was his first time.

Had sushi with my 7 year old and we really enjoyed it. Only seating for 3 tho, so mostly take out. Specials are on various days are really cost effective . Will definitely go again.

Service was sickeningly slow. The quality of the prawn fried rice was inferior with store bought frozen veg used and prawns waterlogged and rubbery. Very disappointing overall experience.

Aomari is a lovely little restaurant. Their sushi is cheap and it tastes decent. Their portion sizes are great too. They have 2 for 1 specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
