As a pub restaurant I was impressed by the range of on menu and various specials available. And service was decent and attentive sat in rear restaurant area. I made a mistake in not going for Venison steak special and other's starters were all impressive and good portion sizes. Of the deserts the cheese board was huge for 1 person and good value at same £4.50 as other desserts. I however had (slightly disappointing) pulled pork and chorizo topped burger + then warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. Overall would give it a 'good' 4/5 stars, but might have made it to 5/5 if I'd had the venison steak that other person in our group had.

Potential to be a great pub. Needs a decent clean out. Get rid of the loud, aging pool table chavs They smell as bad as their language.

Great to have live music, the venue is vibrant and full of live music revelers. Band fugitives were excellent. They played two sets music for all eras, well done to staff and management for a well run establishment.

One of cardiffs nicest pubs. It feels like a ‘proper’ pub and not just another one in a chain. The staff are amazing and the restaurant is great value for money. I just wish it was my local.

Excellent fish dishes, my Mother had the sea bass and I had the fish platter. Both beautifully cooked. My husband had the venison and loved it. The house white wine was very good. We will definitely be going back

Lovely cosy local pub and great staff. Nice covered area out the back. Would be nice to have a sunny spot though.

We had dinner on a Friday evening. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. In our opinion, this restaurant/pub is a true hidden gem. It has the seal of approval from our 10 year old son, which is probably the equivalent of an Olympic gold medal or a Nobel prize 😉

Booking is recommended, although the team did great to fit us in. The food was exemplary, two of us had deep fried cod, chips and garden peas, and one chose the vegetarian chicken (plant protein) and noodles. The dessert choices were great, the lemon meringue roulade was delicious. Fairly busy, and we left before the live band started. Will definitely return. Enough disabled parking is lacking, however the overflow car park has many spaces very near the beer garden entrance.

I get the same antipasto sharing board everytime and it is ALWAYS different. There is no consistency. Some days it's not worth ordering because it's small or the selection is so limited.

Remember drinking in this pub back in 88,89 brought back alot of memories. Not a lot changed, still a good vibe. The staff very friendly and polite 😀 many thanks 😊 👍

Quite busy on a weekday evening which is a good sign. Restaurant was full so I ate in the bar. Menu wasn't huge , but full of Welsh classics. The pate was nice and smooth and a large portion. The hunters chicken I chose because of the accompanying sweet potato fries. It was all well cooked and tasty. Notable was the speed in which the food came out , quite quickly. Also notable was the fact that it was a little cold inside ( review written in Feb 2023, outside temperature if around 8 ). A lot of people had jumpers on. There was a nice selection of ales at the bat including two of my favourites , Doom Bar being one. I will go back. Reccomended.

Friendly staff but not impressed with the food. Pulled pork burger was a beef burger with a bit of pulled pork, rare to medium steak was way over cooked. Food was all very quick to arrive which was very odd. Pricy too. Tables were crammed in - if it had been busy we would have been very close to those next to us. Too much choice on menu which raises concerns about how freshly cooked the food was. Would suggest reducing menu options and number of tables. Felt a bit like 1988.

Had 2 years of lovely Xmas meals here. If it weren't too far away I'd make the effort to go for food here more often.

Very comfortable surroundings. The restaurant was lovely, our meal came quickly and was delicious, l had the chicken curry. It's ground level but has a few steps to enter the pub.but is fine for wheelchair users Lovely toilets, including a disabled one, clean well kept. Pub is good for children, good variety of food including vegetarian options. They dont deliver. Has a beer garden as well. We enjoyed our evening.

Pretty representative of the vast majority of cardiff pubs. Beers ok, staff nice, decor pretty gross, unappealing and tacky and food pretty darn average.

A quiet Thursday night. Piping hot food. Maybe on the pricey side for a pub but very good choice.

A popular local pub located close to Rhiwbina village, traditional decor, good range of ales, multiple screens showing live football.

We were let down by the Deri Inn and made our way here. Grateful the Deri let us down as we would not have found this gem. Great welcome, great service, great food.

Beautiful country pub with lovely staff however having eaten there one night my husband had food poisoning after eating fish and chips I sent mine back and therefore wasn't effected. When the landlady eventually came back to me after several calls, she asked if it could have happened in my kitchen. Not the attitude you need. There was a smell of stale frying oil that needed changing, it's common in fast food pubs. Disappointed to say the least.

My wife and I had a meal on Wednesday 25 May even though they where busy we were served quite quickly we had the set menu for the day and to honest couldn’t fault it. As we were going out with friends on Saturday we booked a table for 4 people I informed the waiter my wife is disabled and she would be using a small mobility scooter or her wheelchair. On Saturday after parking the car I went ahead and asked about disabled entrance (“They don’t have one”) which I found strange because I thought it was now law. We had a nice meals , but “ in my opinion the steak was expensive “ our meals that we decide to have were very nice and worth the cost. I would go again if the disabled entrance was sorted out even if just a mobile ramp. My wife wheelchair ie electric

👍👍 Great Jamaican food, we had a great time! I highly recommend the bottomless brunch, our waitress, Lucy, was very attentive and we had a great chat about nights out in Cardiff! The bar staff's cocktails were beautiful, too!
