Booked a room for our family of four. The hotel in general and the room feel in need for an upgrade. The room was big enough for us BUT, not the cleanest. The sheets looked like were unchanged. Kids found hair in the sheets and socks on the side of one of the beds. Asked for the sheets to be changed and was promised new sheets. Going back to the hotel after 2h were told all changed but I don’t think they did. Reception staff was polite though. Not a good experience overall.

Attending a friend's wedding over the weekend and what a lovely place Future Inn Cardiff Bay was. Everything for this day was made extra special from the welcome and friendliness of staff to the lovely food provided for the Wedding Breakfast and Party food in the evening. From the lovely area's to sit and be made comfortable to cleanliness of the toilet facilities. Bar staff helpful at all times. Plenty of car parking including disabled parking. Wheelchair access is excellent and toilet facilities for wheelchairs. You have to register your car as you enter so you are not charged. There are plenty of sign's telling you to do this. Situated right in Cardiff Bay and the sights and sounds a short walk from the hotel. You will not be disappointed at a stay over here when visiting Cardiff. The Bride told me this was a Jewel of a Hotel they had found for their special day.... that says it all.

We really enjoyed our stay, probably the nicest food we have ever eaten at a hotel however drinks are a bit expensive at the bar. If you sign up and go to reception they will give you a complimentary first drink. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and tidy, though we could hear the louder vehicles as we are so close to the busy road. Still quite a long walk into the bay from the hotel if you don't like walking. The railway station is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel with a regular every 6 minutes service to Cardiff Central station and back again, the journey costs £6.20 for 2 adults and two children return as children travel free with adults, though don't purchase online or at the machine you will only get the discount from the conductor on the train.

A fantastic cozy place to stay. Huge rooms, comfy beds and wonderful breakfast. But the best is the hotel team. They still now how to run a hotel like in the good old days. If you have a wish, whatever it may be, they make it come true.

Great hotel, exactly as advertised. Only a short walk to the waterfront and free parking. Room was clean, beds comfy, breakfast was lovely and staff were friendly. You can hear the road noise, but I'd still stay there again.

The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful from the moment we approached reception to check in. Every part of hotel and the room was spotless, everything worked was in good condition and we had a good nights sleep. The cooked breakfast selection was very tasty while the very friendly staff were very attentive even dusting off the chairs between guests. Having stayed in many hotels across the world this is one of the cleanest and friendliest I have ever stayed in

We stayed in a family room. It was clean and spacious. Breakfast was cost £15 each if booking in advance, otherwise it would be £17. However it was weird because I can pay my room fee with apple pay, but they told me the breaskfast need to be paid by card because they needed to enter my full card information into their system. So make sure you have your card in hand for that.

Nice hotel, quiet area, close to shopping center and the bay. 30 minutes walking to city center and Cardiff central station. We stayed 3 nights, family of 4 with 2 kids, the room is nice and wide, 2 double beds. Throughout the 3 nights, they never replaced the hand towels, never given face or bath towels. Also they didn't provide toilet roll, we had to ask the reception. The room is clean, however the bathroom/toilet has a bit bad odor. They asked for a credit card details to allow us to check in, which was so strange that I never experienced before!

Brilliant hotel for 2 adults and a baby. Easy to find and a massive car park. 10 minute walk to the bay. Lots of eateries nearby. The room was clean, comfortable and functional, nothing too frivolous, just right. All of the staff members we encountered were polite and helpful. We didn't use the restaurant, but it seemed very busy of an evening and required a pre booking, which seemed to take some guests by surprise. A very good hotel that fulfils its purpose perfectly. We look forward to staying again!

Great hotel in Cardiff bay, it is slightly dated but clean and roomy and the bathrooms are spotless. The bar area is nice and served good and drinks. Water supplied in room and is replaced daily. Had a really good stay, would visit again

Lovely hotel to stay in. Customer service was great, everyone was very friendly. Breakfast is not that cheap but good options in the local area. Good distance to tourist areas in Cardiff, definitely recommend.

Great modern build. No creaky floors. Nice comfortable rooms and beds. Aircon. Helpful efficient staff. Plenty of free parking. Good restaurant. Some traffic noise, so use earplugs if youre a light sleeper. Free drink if you join the club.

Stayed here last night. Good value, comfortable beds, good air con in the rooms, quiet. Really enjoyed my breakfast and good service throughout - gave me cutlery for my takeaway last night and toothpaste etc. as I'd forgotten mine. Thank you!

What a wonderful experience we had. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Check in was quick and easy with no issues. Our room was much larger than expected and was spotlessly clean and well provided with clean linen, coffee, tea and biscuits . The bar restaurant area is clean, the beer well kept and at reasonable prices. Breakfast is buffet style with much to choose from all well cooked, just perfect The location is just perfect for the city centre, the bay and theatre. Don't forget to enter your car reg & room number into the display screen in reception to avoid being charged. If you are a light sleeper then I would recommend taking earplugs as the noise from early morning traffic at the adjacent roundabout could be disturbing.

Perfect place to use as a base. The rooms are really good, plenty of space and lots of additional things to make your stay comfortable. Great attention to details. Breakfast has a really good selection and the staff are exceptional. Location is slightly out of city centre hence the 4 stars but it was only around £7 in an Uber. Highly recommend this place and suitable for a group booking for a weekend away, eg stag do, but equally as suitable for a couple or even family. They have it catered very well for all needs and requirement. Thank you Future Inn, spot on. 🙌

The Future Inn Hotel in Cardiff Bay is an excellent choice for those looking for comfortable accommodations in a convenient location. The hotel boasts spacious rooms that are well-appointed and provide great value for the money. The location of the hotel is perfect for those looking to explore the Cardiff Bay area, as it is within easy walking distance of the bay and many other popular attractions. The on-site restaurant is also a great option, offering delicious meals and a friendly atmosphere. Additionally, there is a great steak restaurant opposite the hotel. One of the best part is the free parking and great service provided by the hotel staff. All in all, the Future Inn Hotel in Cardiff Bay is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in the area.

Convenient location with plenty of parking. Room very comfortable, would be better if it had a fridge though. Friendly staff in reception and restaurant. Good selection to eat for breakfast, just needed topping up a little better.

Decent rooms for the price I thought. Decent breakfast in on-site restaurant. Parking for EV spaces (only a few available) are very tightly spaced. At one point we simply couldn't get our car in till other cars left. Close to waterfront district (with bars etc.) but a little way from the downtown area (30 min pleasant walk).

A lovely hotel and the reception was very helpful. We had a great room with a bath/shower. Breakfast was plentiful, lots to choose from. They also ordered a taxi for us as the city centre was about a mile away. A 40 minute walk there for me.

We stayed for a couple of nights. Large room with sofa, and good size bathroom with bath. An excellent hotel, close to the Bay with its good choice of venues. Also, easy access to central Cardiff. Staff brilliant and helpful, easy check in. Breakfast was superb with a good choice on offer. Would certainly stay again.

Good rooms and service BUT… - the EV chargers were impossible to use because the hotel has lost 3 of the 4 cards they have. - the WIFI doesn’t work on floor 6 (or at least in room 608) - the halls and vestibules are nauseatingly hot So if you’re looking at this place because of the EV chargers, be sure to call ahead and ask about those cards.

It's OK, one of the places you book for business not for the experience. Upon arrival we tried to check in and they had told us someone has already checked into our room which was strange. The women behind the desk was very straight, didn't have much character to her and didn't really explain much either like where to go or breakfast times etc As for the room, it was alright like, we were given another room which was bigger but still wasn't anything great. The beds were pretty large which is the best thing I can say about it and the TV was good, decent channels to be fair. Shower wasn't great, no plugs next to the bed which is really annoying. We didn't actually take any pictures of the room as we had just forgot too. Not one of those places walk in and makes you think of taking a picture before you dump everything in there You do get access to the gym, didnt get the chance to see it as we were so busy, and as for food we decides to order both evening and morning as the prices were ridiculous in the restaurant down stairs. Think it was £17 for breakfast or something like that.

It’s a good hotel in a good space but the rooms are quite old and found a big on my bed the carpet is a bit dirty. The breakfast place isn’t too bad. If you are on a tight budget it’s a good place for price but if not I don’t really recommend it too much.

Great NYE Family Party All 4 Rooms I booked had a few problems such as no towels, robes, No glasses and missing ice buckets that we had to call down for. Took about an hour to be brought up and we were all waiting to get ready to go out. So that was a let down. One room wasn't cleaned properly and also had a broken phone. Beds a bit hard for my liking and I could hear the traffic all night.

  • 4/5 Peter H. 6 months ago on Google
A very comfortable and quiet nights sleep at this hotel, which is about a ten minute walk from the bay, and we could slightly open the window if fresh air was wanted rather than using the air conditioning. Breakfast was completely self-service, and had everything you would expect but was the same every morning a typical hotel chain one.We did in enjoy the bubble and squeak crouchetts which are probably made with leaks and potatoes to make it a Welsh breakfast.

Unsafe hotel and disappointing customer service. The crux of it is that there was a hairdryer on fire in our room which filled it with smoke and was extremely dangerous, especially given we had an 18 week baby in the room! Managed to get the hairdryer with flames coming from it out to a supposedly ‘alarmed’ fire exit. With the room and corridor filled with smoke no fire alarm… Called the internal ‘emergency’ number of a phone in public area… no answer. Had to eventually run down to reception to alert them as at this point I didn’t know if anything else in the room had caught on fire as the door had locked behind me. My wife and baby were in shock with my baby being repeatedly sick and had to be attended by paramedics. My mum was staying in a room on the same floor. We all missed a 70th Birthday meal that we were in Cardiff for. This experience caused quite a lot of shock and distress. I have been refunded for my room yet my mums rooms has not been refunded. This is really disappointing given she missed the very occasion we stayed at this hotel for, due to the failings of the hotel! They did reassure me that the booking would be refunded in full. I got a call and shared by disappointment and was told that they would check with the ‘general manager’ and get back to us… no response.. If you’ve promised us to refund us in full and then not done so, when they say they have done a full investigation as to the safety of the room, the alarms etc have they done it?! I would like to hope so but charging my mother for a room after what happened has made me doubt that their customers are the priority.

Everything about the hotel - staff, welcome, service, food, room cleanliness & facilities, was excellent and worthy of 5⭐️, but the mattress and the bed was like sleeping on a jelly. You always wish for a sound night in a hotel bed, but so many fail to deliver. This bed did too! When asked by Reception when checking out if everything was OK, we tend to say 'Yes' because it was one night, and it's over. ....back to our quality comfy bed. What could the staff do....it's too late. You have no way of knowing before you hit the sack, and even then you hope for the best. Otherwise, we have absolutely nothing but praise for Future Inn - just improve the beds!

Comfortable hotel. Within easy walk to Mermaid Quay or a quick bus ride to city centre. Walking to the centre is reasonable walking distance. Has a laundry room you can use at a small price. Free parking for guests.

Lovely hotel, room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful, only 1 lift working though and one person at a time. I know there is social distancing in place but if you live in same household you should be allowed in lift together and many people ignored the request I saw. Breakfast could be more organised as fruit was brought first with pastries then toast then cooked breakfast all at the same time and this caused a snug fit on the table!! I'm a bit accident prone when it comes to pots so it was lucky there were no breakages. We also had to wait and ask for another cup of tea and coffee. Little gripes I know and it didn't spoil my time away. Would recommend the hotel to others and would stay again. Situated in Cardiff Bay, a lovely place to stay.

A great hotel in an ideally situated location for all Cardiff Bay & Cardiff City Centre. We were welcomed politely and nothing was to much trouble at check in, rooms are spacious and really comfortable. The restaurant has great choices and reasonably priced too, our food was cooked to perfection of our requirement. Overall a great all round hotel which was a pleasure to stay as a guest.

Good location, spacious, comfortable room, easy parking, friendly reception...however the bar/restaurant was a real dissapointment with inadequate staff, resulting in our inability to get 2 drinks ordered at the same time, served within half an hour, we left without drinking or paying, but there are many alternative places around the hotel to get a better service, but this does not take anything away from the main hotel service.

Lovely staff but; 1) checkin takes a long time, had to wait in line. 2) lots of noise from roads. 3) rooms not cleaned well, lots of dust and streaks. 4) no fridge in rooms. 5) cupboard really small & awkward to use. 6) bathrooms small & as a result layout is bad. 7) carpets & seats stained & need replacing. 8) cheap poor quality biscuits in room. 9) expensive breakfast (about £11-12 which I’m not going to pay. The hotel feels cheap, but the price isn’t.

Afternoon Tea Martin I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and your team,in helping organizing such a wonderful afternoon tea for my daughter in laws surprise baby shower . Princess and …I’m sorry I forgot the name of the gentleman that came in on his day off… but they went above and beyond to help with everything… even helped us with the decorations lol . We all had a fabulous time, the cakes and treats, scones, sandwiches and especially the wraps where a highlight!! All the guests had an amazing time, You and your team were amazing from start to finish and I couldn’t have wished for anything more. We would all like to say a specially thank you to princess for helping with everything go smoothly and resolve any little issues that cropped up. Staff super friendly very accommodating to all our needs, rooms super clean, great selection of different pillows, good TV. Not much hanging space for three girls sharing room. Made a fantastic soup for me, the rest of the family didn't like the Christmas dinner veg cold roast potatoes not roasted enough and neat was very rubbery. But the hotel very very helpful as I have a special diet due to ill health. Front reception was so friendly and helpful. Drinks from bar were fantastic. We will definitely return in the summer. Corresponding to my emails were very professional. Could do with more than 3 disabled spaces. Parking was free. Thank you for your service

Loved our short stay here. Staff all really friendly and accommodating. We were upgraded to a suite for no extra money. Very comfy huge double bed. Good choice for breakfast. Would totally recommend.

  • 5/5 Martin J. 1 year ago on Google
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Paid £40 more for the night to get a suite which was well worth the money. The hotel even gave us a bottle of bubbly and some fresh fruit. Breakfast was good with full English and good hot drinks selection. Bar was reasonably priced too. Location was okay, great for being close to the bay but 30 minute walk to get into the city centre... Lots of taxis available. We did have an issue with the TV signal however this was looked into and although they couldn't fix it they dealt with the situation the best they could and got a partial refund... Can't ask for much more.

Great location, on the bay and close to the city centre. Free parking which is rare in the city. Great value for a full service hotel. Nice restaurant with a good menu, room service, laundry available. Room was very comfortable, plenty of space for a 5 day stay. Very clean and good safety protocols in place and being followed. 1 person / group per lift, etc.. felt very safe and comfortable. Very helpful front desk staff, printed multiple travel doc free of charge with a smile. Definitely recommend and have already booked our return for when we visit our student again.

Was very clean , staff were very polite, eager to please. Corresponding was excellent, I have a special diet and they went out of their way to accommodate me. Sadly the Christmas dinner wasn't great. Vegetables were cold, roast potatoes not crispy. Meat was rubbery. But the hotel itself beds were super comfy. Lots of pillows of different texters from hard to soft depending on your preference. I will definitely return.

Its not bad here at all. You get a nice room 2 double beds, kettle and its clean. You do have a toilet look behind the door in the bathroom. Only thing I would say is a bad point is if your a night worker book a different hotel as the curtains are rubbish. The light it let's through is ridiculous. The restaurant facilities are great food is good. Its a nice environment to be in.

  • 3/5 AJ P. 2 years ago on Google
Hotel rooms are okay at a reasonable rate and the free parking great. Breakfast experiance was awful. Have to fill out a form to choose items which are then picked and given to you due to "covid". Waiter never gave us the fruit salad we had ticked, choose really small items and then when we asked for a second orange juice handed over the glass my holding the rim of it!

Stayed a couple of nights. Hotel is well located to both the quay and Cardiff central. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and allowed for peaceful sleeping despite being located near a busy road. There was ample parking space which is free to hotel guests. Did not eat at the restaurant but visited the bar in the evening which was a convenient last stop for the evening. The stay was reasonably priced and would gladly do it again.

Love staying here, our first choose for visiting or fleeting visits. Fabulous breakfasts, full fry ups, pastries, cereal, fruit, pancakes & yogurts. Rooms are a lovely size. My only negative is how close I find the rooms in the nights, I personally need the windows open which is ok if you don't mind the noise from the traffic. It's not too bad, not for the light sleepers though.

Ideal location if you're seeing a showing in the Millennium Centre, being within approximately 5 minutes walking distance and the on-site parking is very handy. Rooms and hallways are very spacious, with modern decor and a decent breakfast to round it off.

Me and my wife have been here a few times over the years and have always had a lovely stay. This time was no exception. We stayed for our anniversary. We upgraded to a suite with an extra room and complimentary prosecco which was a lovely touch. The extra room was nice to sit and have drinks before heading out. Also had a nice coffee machine with pods as well as the usual tea and coffee sachets. Only downside was the bedroom TV had been smashed by one of the last occupants and this wasn't picked up before we arrived. We did let reception know before we went out for the evening but were still contacted the next day after we checked out to see what happened. They were fine with us though and understanding but I don't know how it wasn't picked up before we came and only after we had left. The good TV kept turning itself off for some reason which was annoying. The room itself was stunning on the 4th floor. Bed was big and comfy and we had a great night's sleep. My only criticism was there were no usable plugs next to the bed for a phone charger, only special ones for the lamps. We opted for breakfast at £13 each. Breakfast was buffet style but was really good and worth it. Overall, we've been before and will be back!

Beautiful hotel with high standard. Breakfast is fresh and lots of choices. Two Double beds in the bedroom, hot water is available anytime and stable. Toilet is dependant from wet room. Location is good and in the city centre. WiFi is stable. Only problem is the car park is not enough and we had 5 rooms booked for 2 nights, but struggled to find a parking space for a car.
