Very busy high street Spoons that is very sports orientated inside.Definitely a drinkers pub and a place to go after you've done your shopping.Only had a drink this time but I did see plenty of food going out and it looked great.Service at the bar was quick and the staff were friendly, well worth a visit if your in the area!!!! Mary St Car park just across the road and down the alley ,pay and display .

Cheap Meals for a Comfy place. Although many people are coming in everybody is polite and the staff were easy to approach with. We both ordered the steak with 5 chicken buffalo wings. It was good!

A perfect location for a catch-up with friends and for football fans to enjoy the match on the big screen. We had a simple and reasonably priced meal, which included unlimited hot drink refills. We also indulged with a small amount of reasonably priced alcohol too. There was a good choice of background music, which was not overpowering. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the premises were clean with the toilets kept in a reasonable condition. I would definitely use the William Rufus as a location for a catchup or get-together again. As a word of caution, this location is definitely part of the popular weekend night-time economy, so do be mindful if you're thinking of a quiet Friday or Saturday evening/night.

Had a few beers and a breakfast wrap in here before catching a train. Had 4 pints of Worthingtons and was as good as you'll get and a just over a couple of quid was bang on for value. Breakfast wrap was lovely and very filling. Was in William Rufus around 10.30am to 12pm and was nice and chilled. Served by 2 different staff and both nice and chatty and very helpful. Definitely be going back

Came here today good service and value like most spoons. Looks more modern loads of TVs everywhere showing sports which I've not seen before There where two spoons within a few yards of each other haven't seen that before either!

Does what it does. Lack of bar staff taking orders meant serving person was very efficient but overloaded and it showed. Not her fault. Coffee from the machine surprisingly good and repeats are free! A good experience, but please find more bar staff for busy times? I wasn't in a hurry (waiting for a train) but once ordered food was quick and a good quantity. Cheers!

I was traveling back to Scotland from Durham and to get out of the rain while I waited for my train change I went to this nice wee place. Was on the morning and the evening visits an ecelctic mix and when the evening football was on everyone was well behaved and the staff at both visits extremely helpful. Highly recommended.

Good food at a good price. When I went in yesterday we had excellent service, food arrived quickly. The biggest downfall that every spoons has is the men's toilets. Not Very nice at all.

It's not a headliner but it does the job. Everything you expect and will presented. The only downside is the furniture is like something from a crèche. Toilets upstairs nice beer garden no parking. Would go back.

We had breakfast here on 2 consecutive days, it was clean, and not too busy. We went in for a few drinks on Friday night. The music was good also must say it was busy but not heaving with people. The prices are OK too.

Very dissapoint

Great bar with drinks at reasonable prices. Food always good. Atmosphere great at weekends with sport on numerous TV screens. Can be nice and quiet during the week. Good for meals with the kids.

Called in for a meal with my son between trains (just round the corner from Carlisle Station). Beer was good, food was out quick despite it being busy and tasty too. Two meals, four drinks, less than £20. Can't complain!

My first pint of real ale was ok Then we ordered a couple of pints delivered through the APP, after a long wait they turned up and one of them was flat I took it back to the bar and the lady behind the bar asked me what was up with the pint, with a surprised look on her face, when I had to inform her it was flat. Just one look at the pint, would've been obvious to anyone with a bit of knowledge 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Same as every other spoons. "MID" prices have went up on everything the steaks are terrible now. Ultimate burger is probs the only decent thing on the menu now. This spoons is better then most because it has bud on draft.

Bog standard Wetherspoons, mediocre food and varied but basic drink options. There's not much of a beer garden and it's pretty grim anyway, there's a couple tables on the street as well. It was generally clean and quiet on the Sunday night I went but still somewhere most enjoyable after some drinks

We normally love Wetherspoons and visit one in every town we visit, where they have a presence. I can say that this is the only one that I've ever been negative a out. They have done a great job with the building, as always and the staff were friendly and pleasant. My only complaint was the beer selection. The real ale we normally go for was out of stock and the alternatives not up to much, by our tastes any way. We eventually settled on Worthington's Best which kind of saved the day.

Great place to eat, drink and meet friends. Can be very busy at times but if you have the Wetherspoons app it's a good queue jumper and you get served quicker. Great selection of food and drinks all set in a good atmosphere and comfy setting. Located centrally and close to the main train station. A good place if you are on a budget for food or drink. Good place for groups to meet staff are very friendly.

This was a nice pub to visit with my family on a day out in Carlisle, positioned closely to the station so we did not have to leave too long before our scheduled journey. I ordered 3 family drinks at the bar, though one of us had to change their choice because the drink was out of stock sadly. My double absolute vodka with a Pepsi mixer was brilliant however, like the seating afront a curtain and the marvellous cylinder lights overhead! I went on to have a Chicken Jalfrezi curry deal for tea that is truly the full package, featuring two poppadoms, rice, naan bread and a sauce! A great Pepsi Max Cherry drink accompanied my meal and the service was quite good, delivered to my table where cleanliness was proper like the rest of the pub and the floor has an interesting pattern.

👍👍 Visited whilst staying locally, used Tesco vouchers and staff were knowledgeable, helpful and kind. Most of the site that we used was well decorated and clean, we played pool and had gorgeous food & drinks. Site was quite busy with families and other diners. Highly recommended.
