Came here on our holiday travels for a friend's Birthday and it was just divine. 3 of us had chicken curry as a main and it was just heavenly. Also we had appetisers prior and that was just amazing. Friends had a shared platter and it looked amazing. Staff here were very helpful as our Hostess for the evening mentioned all the specials and guided us to our table. Sails is great top night and TOP STAFF. Thanks Sails see you next time.

Dined here after reading TripAdvisor reviews. I will be honest overall it was ok. Server was not that knowledgeable. Recommendations were about 2 things on the menu, could not tell me the origin of the steak for the fillet. We started with the coconut prawns. They were alright. My son had the cheese garlic bread which he really enjoyed Mains both son and I had the chicken curry which was very mild. It was flavoursome and alright Wife had the pork belly which wasn’t crispy, flavour was really good as was the salad and sauce. Wine list was ok, maybe not the premium league we are used to but drinkable- we went for the alkoomi. Overall a 3/5 dining experience. Perfectly fine if staying at the best western but average food quality.

The food didn't look like the photo in the booklet. I had the local rankin cod with veggies which was tasty. My husband ordered the lamb rack. Was a bit disappointed. A bit chewy.

Busy restaurant. The rave reviews given for the meals are well n truly justified. My partner had a curry and I had the seafood chowder. So delicious! We had half a dozen oysters each for entre. Partner had Kilpatrick...no need for the onion. Mine natural...seems they were washed because there was no salty taste. The wine list was extensive, but several varieties weren't in stock. The windows need a very thorough clean. Being close to the water, the view would be lovely. The unused Bain Maries need to be stored elsewhere when not in use. The restaurant could do with a spruce up. Charming waitress and motel owner.

Windows need cleaning. They have a reasonable wine list, but only one of the white wines on the list was available and that was a sweet Moscato. Service was good and so was the food. Regrettably, with my wife's meal the plate was far too small for all the food on it.

Carnarvon hospitality aplenty. Our dinner was delicious with an Asian twist. I had local fresh caught Rankin Cod.....beautifully cooked and served with tasty veg sides. Bookings are required.

Clam chowder is superb - fish, calamari, prawn, mussel - all tender cooked and the broth packs a taste. My wife had the miso cod - nice char and tender juicy - first time in her life she ate everything on her plate.

Had dinner here. It was a good meal, served by friendly staff and promptly. One of the guest's meals was overcooked, but the rest of the meals were fine. Given it was recommended as one of the better places to eat, it did not quite live up to expectations (which might say something about other places in Carnarvon).

Lovely customer service and staff members were friendly! Our food came out quick and tasted delicious! Ordered the French braised chicken (sauce was fabulous) and the scotch fillet! Was perfect as we arrived bit late in town but was craving a good meal and they are open later than many other food places!

It appeared from some reviews the restaurant has the most amazing food. Absolutely wrong. The “signature” dish, seafood chowder was terrible. Zero flavour combined with tinned fish? Repeat tinned fish including scallops. (I’m in the fishing industry) Bits of mussel shell amongst the sauce. Here’s the real punchline. Never have I been served Seafood Chowder with a garden salad in it. Disgusting. The cheese platter? Hardly any cheese and the cracker biscuits were so stale they were inedible. A very expensive, costly mistake.

👍 It is more expensive than your average fish and chips but fish, prawns and squid were really fresh and chips and salad good as well. The serves are large so if not hungry, I recommend sharing the seafood platter and salad. Iced coffee had cream and icecream and was huge! We chose battered and was a...
