Beautiful historic Cartagena. Colorful, vibrant and a must see. The only downside is that the local street vendors are pretty aggressive and will follow you to get you to buy. Just keep that in mind. Still worth seeing if you like Spanish Colonial architecture

Magic! It’s a great place to visit with the family or friends. The city has great plans to do both in the morning and the night. Please visit the museums too (Inquisition Palace for example).

Beautiful buildings and construction. Historical aspect is super. Very clean and inviting. Food is amazing. Taxis are clean and plentiful and drivers respectable. Street venders are for the most part out for a hard sell. Labors all were clean appearance and respectful and helpful with any questions. Only dislike was it was crowded and for the most part safe. Police were present and professional....

Next to the clocktower this plaza was dominate in the walled City....the venders selling sweets were a big hit with everyone! And there are lots of sweet treat venders... This plaza is called Portal de los Dulces....and under each of those "arches" ...or portals....is where the sweet treat venders were....all down that plaza!!

This place is excellent, not just for its history but for the beaches that sourround it. Full of pubs, discos, restaurants where you can find both local and international dishes; a perfect place to be visited accompanied by the couple, the family or even to do new friends! And most of all: affordable for all budgets :) I simply love Cartagena!

It is a very important place and usually part of all the walks inside the historical center. If you want to try the big selection of African heritage sweets that are available in Cartagena, you should go to the arches next to the Clock Tower. By the way, just available during the day. At night you will find several night clubs.

I will say this, The Historic Center is a must place. You want to come and spend days in it to learn so much history. NOTE OF CAUTION: do not swim between Bocagrande and Crespo, THE ICEAN WATER IS CONTAMINATED. The ocean waters ARE NOT SAFE. Go to Baru Island, Playa Blanca definitely a place to bathe and swim and have a phenomenal time.

It is not place for walking, there is not space for walk side. A lot of cars, very tight streets and cars are endlessly buzzing. Yo can’t just walk and enjoy.
