😠 Be aware, "Playa Banca" (White beach) is NOT in the middle of the town called Barú. That town is really dangerous, dirty, and without any paved street. Avoid at all cost, and please correct this marker (a tourist trap) which should be relocated right on the beach several KM north. People often mention beach,

OMG Save yourself the cost and time from this horrible mess. Beach itself was fine one time...some years ago and still looks fine in leaflets that are used for maketing but what you get today is a totally different story. Absolutely full of platic chairs and umbrellas....all the way to the waterline. Local hustlers ask for like over 100 000 pesos for two plastic chairs and an umbrella and you will sit 15 cm away from next guest and in the shade. You must hire....they say for safety reason......so much BS. If you find one sq meter to put your towel......local vendors will constantly disturb you like every 5 seconds. Dont even let someone offer to give you anything or start massage.....they will try to......and to get rid of them will cost you a lot.....and if you dont pay....you will get in troble. There are so many boats that come and go....as well as guys who rent jet skis....that drives wrecklessly among snorklers and swimmers so I was waiting to see blood......seriously.....really mad. The fumes from diesel, petrol and so give you the impression that you sit at a gas station....really awful. I am a seasoned traveller that travelled the world for 45 years.....like 4 months a year at least.......and this was an awful experience. It can hardly get worse. The whole place is like a bad joke......but tragically it is reality. How can any visitor appreciate how this place gets abused like this......who will ever return after seeing this. Nothing....could make me go back during theese conditions. Choice i yours.... Cant understand recent positive reviews....did we really visit the same beach ?

If I could give this a zero I would..The Ocean is beautiful here but the criminals who follow u around and want you to pay them just to show u where the beach is is f..ing annoying.. Also, the walk from the parking lot to the beach is a disgusting disease infested , road.. There were dead animals laying around and dogs ripping through garbage bags.. Damn shame that the government does not take control and clean up the mess since the beach and ocean are truly beautiful ..

Such an amazing place. The sea is so clean and with is white sand makes it one of the best beaches near Cartagena.

Una locura. Mucha gente y demasiado vendedores. Falta control de las motos acuaticas. Imposible relajar. Would not recommend. Went earlier in the year with the family and it was chaos. Way too many people and vendors. I love and live in Cartagena, this is one of the few places I would advise against going. Deter from going to baru, instead go to the actual islands which isn't far from baru.

Baru is sold as the best beach in Town bit honestly is too crowded and you won’t have full rest since there are many many street vendors coming to you. If you are there help the dogs and animals in the area, their condition is critical and a piece of food will help them a lot. You can tell how skinny they are. Be part of the solution, be a good tourist.

My review is about the beach, not a private place! Map points wrong way. Is it worth visiting Playa Blanca? Yes definitely! The water is gorgeous and warm, it’s close to Cartagena. We went for 2 days but 1 day felt enough. Here what is good to know: • bring your drink water! • bring sunscreen and hat • bring pesos (if you have to use card “tajeta” ask if there’s a “fee” before seating anywhere on the beach (we were victim of a major cc fee scam) • bar infrastructure is very simple • Playa Blanca gets VERY busy and loud Recommend La Peruana or Nativa (Argentina pizza) on Playa Tranquila for quiet • if you look like tourist - you may become a target, we were followed by a creepy young man for a while who was watching where we seat to get money from it • not much beach sand space to seat when tide comes up This is a small local beach/island worth visiting.

Beautiful ocean, unfortunately this beach has no sandy area where to chill, and vendors as well as sky jets are all over the place, at some points all you can smell is the gasoline, parking was also mess and so was the exit at then end of the day

The most stressful 'relaxing' thing I've tried. We got conned as tourists and fell for the sales pitch. The relaxing beautiful private beach... Lol no - too many boats and jetskis coming in to land where people are playing in the water, and motorbikes driving right up next to you on the sand - smell of diesel in the air from all the vehicles - overly aggressive vendors - people offering massages that touch you without permission - tour we booked said we'd have towels - sure, a few hours after we arrived we got them - terrible food - sketchy walk down from the parking lot though sand with broken glass -the water was pretty, but there are other beaches.
