Very good meal. Had about 40 people in are party. We had either salmon or beef. The salmon had a passion fruit sauce fantastic. The smashed potatoes, that came with it were great. Price for either was 62000 pesos. Beer was about 4 times the price on the street. But for where they are located well worth the price. Mostly Americans by the bar. Me and my Grandkids the only ones born in America in are party. Small band by the watchtower. Very good. Family loved dancing to it. Excellent staff, would go again. Great place to watch the sunset.

Beautiful place to sit and have a drink and listen to live music. They have a full kitchen as well. Nice ambiance, view and a cool wind off the ocean. Small tables and lounge chairs as well.

Service non-existent. Weak drinks. They had live music which was nice but the disgusting fetid water around it makes it unenjoyable. Waitstaff had to be called over and over and forgot about us once they brought us our drinks. We of course didn't stay for dinner here for all these reasons.

Unless it's super high season, I don't think you need to pre book this place. Service is slow because they have lots of tables, and then compounded with it being Colombia. But the staff is very friendly and the sunset views are worth getting even a single drink

We had booked a table at El Baluarte for our last night in Colombia as we had been looking forward to it based on the good reviews. It was raining so not busy and sat near the bar, the staff did not acknowledge us despite there being lots of staff walking around and the restaurant not being busy. We scanned the QR code on the table for the menu and were looking at the menu however after 15 minutes of being ignored and walked past we left.

Beautiful place to watch the sunset while enjoying drinks and live music. It's outdoors on the wall with a view right over the water looking west. There are great views of the city architecture. Drinks are reasonably priced for such a busy, touristy area. When it gets really busy it can take a minute to flag down a server for more drinks. But one of the most comfortable atmospheres for such a busy location that I've experienced.

Wonderful place to enjoy a cute (juicy) beverage and watch the sunset but the food is not so good. As a starter, I ordered the ceviche de pulpo (i think that was its name) and that was really good. For dinner, i ordered what was something like a meat sampler. It was gross. The only good thing on that plate was the potatoes and the chorizo, which was just fried hot dogs. Take your appetite elsewhere. There are plenty of amazing restaurants in the area.

This Ceviche de chicharrón was new on the menu and it was delish. It was perfect as an entrée.

If you like Salsa music, this place is for you. The prices are the same as any other restaurant in the historic center. There is food and drinks to have a good time.

if you are looking for a better option to look at the sunset and have a hand crafted cocktail in Cartageta this is it. This place is 100x better than Cafe del mar, i dont know why cafe del mar is so popular if its always so packed and drinks are not even good.

One of my favorites in Cartagena to watch sun or live music on weekends- very yummy cocktails and good service. I started coming here because Cafe de Mar didn’t have best cocktails or service but I wanted to see sunset - this place really stands out because of staff like Kevin, Fernando, Endir, Edwin - they definitely make the difference with detail and making you feel at home. I wish they had better bathrooms then the small shared ones downstairs. The menu has sandwiches from 26/29k pesos to ceviche, and larger steak and seafood dishes 60-80k so a range for everyone. Definitely worth a visit while in CTG ☀️.

The bar of el baluarte its amazing. Located above the city wall with incredible views it’s completely stunning. They play really good music, really fun and not club style, with classical simple drinks. Its a great choice to enjoy the old city.

One of the iconic places in Cartagena. In the entrence, there are many sellers for traditonal shopping. Especially in sunset times, incredible. You can take many photos, drink something or just sit. There are two good cafes in two sides of historical wall. You can enjoy with some drinks or snacks.

Went for cocktails and sunset. About 60% full, slow and inattentive server. Cocktails were VERY sweet, which I’m not partial to but I understand others like this, so take that with a grain of salt! Views were nice for sunset.

Best seafood meal we have ever had, and the passion fruit dessert was awesome. The server was so attentive! The live music, the ambiance, absolutely the place to be in Cartagena.
