A group of three couples had lunch here today. Two of us ordered the lobster, two ordered the grilled seasonal fish, one ordered the rabbit stew and one had eggplant with cheese. Every part of the restaurant was decorated with a mix of Bohemian, Spanish and Caribbean touch. Dined in on a Tuesday and the restaurant had a Friday or Saturday night vibe. There was a band that played and entertainers that danced through the restaurant. The bathroom had gold hardware and was unisex. The door handles had mustache or a lip and a friendly staff member attending it. The bill also comes in a cute red box with candies for the table.

Fortunately, I could get in without a reservation because I was only one person. The food presentation was excellent and it tasted good. There are very limited wine options by the glass and only one type of red wine by the glass. I was seated in the bar area but directly in the flow of all the traffic in a rocking chair. Therefore, I requested to wait for a table. After about 45 minutes and checking twice, I was offered a table, but it was not acceptable so I opted to go back to the bar. Well, I decided it best to leave when the waiter offered another option. At this point, the crowd was winding down and there were many options of 2-person tables open throughout the restaurant that I noticed did not get filled until we closed down the restaurant at midnight! I had eventually joined a group table of friendly travelers and a Colombian. They shared the same opinion of chaos yet good I got in without a reservation because they had been turned away the other day. The entertainment was nice and a mix of music. Note also there is a dress code.

This is my second time coming here and I really like the place but the service is not the best as some of the waiters are not friendly and they are not very accommodating. With that being said, I did enjoy the food the two times that I went. One of the plates that I ordered was not of my liking and I was offered a different dish which was really delicious.The drinks were really great. We made our reservation for 9pm, however, I recommend 7:30 or 8 as the atmosphere is a little more alive, but if you want more quite than 9 is the time. This is a place for couples, small parties or even larger 10 plus parties, but again make that reservation. One big perk was being able to make a reservation through Google maps rather than calling. You will not be disappointed in the choice of food as they have a variety but I do recommend sticking to a sea food dish. Check out their menu and you will see that the prices are very reasonable for the high quality, roughly 58-68,000 for a main. Drinks where on the spendy side but again the quality is well worth getting a higher end cocktail. Don't hesitate, if you need a romantic night with your partner or taking friends out for a classy dinner, this is your place. I was also impressed when they presented a white Rose to all the women for national women's day.

To be honest, I was surprised for the excellent food and service provided at Candé. I could easily guess this is one of the best restaurants (if not the best) to serve authentic Cartagenian cuisine. I suggest the "Posta Cartagenera" &"Cazuela de Mariscos", both excellent representations of our cuisine and great choices for a full meal. Add up the great chic environment and service from the waiters and you are in for a treat!
