I room 45 right now. The doors don't work, the Jacuzzi doesn't work, the fan above the bed doesn't work. Didn't realize any of this until it was time to sleep. Tiny bugs swarming all over our belongings and counters. I was so excited to stay here. We booked 4 nights, but will be leaving in the morning. Would not recommend this hotel. Such a shame. Hopefully they do better in the future. Waste of money and time.

We were ready to fall in love with the hotel, but it didn't happen. We only stayed two nights in a bungalow, and had the following problems: • One day the jacuzzi worked, but the next day it didn't: the water was cold. We did the same as the previous day to no avail. We called the reception and they said they'd send someone, but after waiting for over an hour we gave up. • The AC didn't work in one of the rooms. We had to call to ask and wait about a half hour for someone to come over and fix something with the gas outside. • Twice we had to wait for about a half hour for transport. The first time we had asked for a car at 13:30 which arrived at 13:56. The second time, when the car arrived, one of us was in the bathroom, not ready to leave, so the driver said he'd come back later. After waiting for him for 25 minutes we had to call the lobby again to ask for another car. • The 2nd day we noticed that they had taken away some of our used towels (even though we left them hanging) and not replaced them. We had to call again. The bungalows themselves are very impressive. It is impressive that they managed to put a jacuzzi and a pool sustained just by a few stilts. However, many things in the bungalows don't work so well, which was a bit annoying. For example, opening and closing the balcony door is so annoying (because you have to lift it and you're afraid it might break) that you end up not bothering after the first time. The bungalows are very airy and spacious. The floors are built of nice stone. The views to the trees and the sea are beautiful, fostering a nice connection with nature. We saw many interesting birds. We booked a tour of the mangroves, which we enjoyed. The staff is always very friendly, though not the most efficient. The food in the restaurants was pretty good. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of fresh fruits and Colombian foods. But in general you want to come here and have things Just Work, not to spend time just waiting (for the repairman or the towels or the transport or ...).

The bungalows with private pool overlooking the ocean was a truly unique and special experience for us. You are very much in nature though, with many animals around. The beach is small but the water is nice and there aren't too many rooms so it never feels crowded. The breakfast spot it great. We just stayed 2 nights, I imagine if you stayed for longer than 3 or 4 days you may get a little bored of the menu which is the same in both restaurants.

Las Islas is a wonderful place. The location couldn't be better. However, we were quite disappointed with the service. We paid (all in all) roughly a thousand USD a night, and I think for that price you can expect smiling faces, or a service team that makes you feel welcome and makes you feel that they want to make your stay unforgettable. This, unfortunately, was not the case. We felt, that when asking for something, they were like annoyed about our request. Just as an example, when we ran out of sunscreen one lady told us they had it, 5 minutes later another one said the first one was lying. Even among themselves they seemed to be grumpy. We were talking to one employee about it and he said "yes, we have heard that before...". So Las Islas is located on a wonderful island, the views from the bungalows is breathtaking, there's nothing to complain about the food or the cleanliness of the place, but - as mentioned - the service is not matching the price at all.

I will start off by saying the positives during our stay but it has been a NIGHTMARE dealing with the staff & reception after our stay after they fraudulently charged an additional $600 CAD to my credit card for no reason. We stayed here for two nights in August and it was a lovely stay - Karen was great for customer service and remembered our names. The treehouses were amazing with jacuzzis and loungers. We had no issues with bugs or the AC. The food was average and expensive but we were expecting this going into our stay. The private beach was lovely and easy to access. Now for the nightmare of the additional charges and hoping this review might actually provoke a response from their management team. I booked our reservation using my personal credit card in July - this was used to reserve our stay and no charges should have ever been posted to my credit card. Upon our arrival, my boyfriend used his credit card for the damage deposit and at check out, he paid with his credit card. My card was NEVER ONCE used by hotel staff other than reserving the stay. We arrived on time and never missed our reservation so we have no idea why a charge appeared on my credit card for $600 CAD. Our payment made was $1,300 CAD which included all of our charges & we reviewed the folio in person to confirm. We are now paying almost $2,000 for our 2 day stay because of their fraud which is ridiculous. I have been emailing hotel staff since August 29th and I receive the same automated response every time. At check out, they said they would email my hotel folio and we have never received it. I have been in the process with my credit card company to dispute the charges but it’s posing difficulties without the folio and lack of the hotels responses. I STRONGLYYYY recommend you review your credit card charges and retain a paper copy of the folio at your departure as this hotel will steal your money and make it impossible to communicate.

Pros: Beach and facilities are great. You couldn’t ask for a better location and the size of the hotel is really big so you can spread out. Rooms had really good A/C and were fun for a few nights to be staying in the trees. The separate private island is easy to get to with not much wait time. Karen was a great employee and managed the restaurant facilities really well. Cons: Our stay was mainly let down by the terrible service. We found the reception staff really hard to communicate with and the restaurant staff. You have to get the golf carts around the area as the facility is so big. There were many times when we had to wait a significant time for transport and staff weren’t very proactive. The area is amazing for stargazing. I confirmed with reception that I wanted to use the telescope and when I went at the right time it was closed. I was very dissatisfied that there was no answer why it was closed. The diving that I did was really good. However I had booked two dives and was looking forward to them. When I arrived for the first dive I was told that ‘other people want to dive this afternoon so you can only do one’. I don’t agree with this because if I had booked in advance then I don’t see why I should have to give up my place. The food in the hotel is extremely expensive (for Colombia, and the Cartagena area). The quality of the food is awful. There are no other options for food due to being so far out, so I’d think carefully about staying here for that reason. Nothing was local, and we were really disappointed. The only exception was breakfast, which was quite nice. The main issue for our stay was that we don’t speak Spanish and most of the staff don’t speak English. The language barrier meant that a number of frustrating issues compounded to create an overall disappointing stay. If you don’t speak Spanish I would seriously think twice.

Don’t let the bad reviews scare you off — my boyfriend and I had a great stay at Hotel Las Islas! We opted for the sea level bungalow with private pool and had the best time. The room itself is spacious and clean with VERY GOOD air conditioning, a queen bed, two closets, a hammock, TV, and a super nice bathroom (with a great shower and a bidet!), and the outdoor amenities were even better. The private pool was lovely overlooking the ocean but it’s worth noting that the pools are filled with salt (/recycled sea?) water — if you’re expecting crystal clear chlorine pools you’re at the wrong resort. It rained very hard during our stay and we didn’t have any issues with leaks or bugs in our bungalow during our entire stay. Now for the amenities. The isleta was incredible and so beautiful, with comfy beach chairs on a clean and quiet beach, great pool area, full bar, and just a quick boat ride away. Stay to catch the sunset, you won’t be disappointed! We loved having bikes available and found the resort to be super walkable (but you may get turned around a few times — it’s huge!). The 3rd floor bar area was breezy and quiet, perfect for reading, playing cards, etc. Def check out the telescope if you have a clear night. We also loved being able to arrange a car service to/from Cartagena. The food is decent — not the best lunch/dinner we had in Colombia but not bad either, but the breakfast spread was where the hotel shines (plus breakfast was free). Tons of fresh fruit and juices were available, along with made to order eggs and arepas, avo toast, pastries, cereal, etc. We also grabbed ice cream one day and it was a fun little midday treat. Drinks were really good and worth the price. Definitely order the frozen tropical lemonade. Overall, great 4 night stay at Hotel Las Islas.

The accommodations were amazing! We really enjoyed having bikes to ride around the resort as well as being able to call for a golf cart. We also really enjoyed the private beaches and excursions (snorkeling) that were offered. The spa massage was also amazing! We gave the resort 4 stars because the food was good but nothing wow-ed us. Overall, we had a fantastic get away here and would definitely recommend the resort!

The hotel is in a beautiful secluded area, where you can truly be one with nature. This includes the the roofs leaking everywhere when it rains, bugs all over the room from the wholes in the roofs and windows without glass panels in them, ac that can't make the room colder than outside due to all the openings your room has, and a bathroom that's so hot and humid the ceiling is dripping from the moment you walk in. The food is very average in quality and flavor, and crazy expensive for what you're getting. The entire facility has a very cult-like feel with all staff wearing white everywhere, and while it appears that there are 3 restaurants, there is only 1 staff group that runs all 3, meaning that 1 restaurant closes and an hour later the next one opens. This would all be fine and I would still give it 5 star rating for how unique it is if the price wasn't so ridiculously high. My wife and I spent 2 nights there and were charged over $1,300. We stayed at several nicer hotels while in Columbia and paid a quarter or less of these prices everywhere else. If you really want to be one with nature, you could drive to the middle of nowhere and sleep on a beach, and it would be a similar experience for free.

This hotel is amazing! Lots of different entertainment options, the rooms are top notch and views are to die for! My wife and I came here for a mini honeymoon and then back to the Sofiet Legend Santa Clara in Cartagena. This hotel blows the Santa Clara out of the water! When making reservations, ask them to not out you in room 14. It wasn’t a good view at all. The staff is super accommodating and made the switch for us for the next night.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, food was outstanding (would absolutely recommend the cherry lemonade). The diving experience and luminescent plankton were incredible. The views from the rooms and surroundings were spectacular, and as the resort is very much in nature you can see a host of wildlife.

For the money, Hotel Las Islas may be the best hotel we've stayed at. Amazing property, staff and accommodations. Really unique experience all around and we will be back soon!

Remote, beautiful resort for a quiet getaway. The bungalows are private and lovely whether in the trees or on the water. Recommend 3 days or so here to experience the resort and local offerings. Staff are very attentive and responsive but not overly so. Food is very good with a wide variety of choices for all meals unlike some similar resorts. Great value!

The most incredible honeymoon spot I could have ever dreamed of! We stayed in a Sea View Bungalow with a private pool and the accommodations were amazing. Luxurious, private, and connected to nature. The attention and integration with the nature surrounding the property really impressed us. Each bungalow gets two bikes to ride around the property, and there was a beautiful winding path around the property. Every bungalow was nestled into nature with as little trees removed as possible. The food was delicious and staff was so kind. Emil really made our stay special and we enjoyed every time we got to talk to him at lunch and dinner. What an awesome guy you have on your team. Our favorite meals were the Muelas de Cangrejo (Crab Claws), Lobster, Baru Ceviche, and the Vulcan de Chocolate. If you are in the Cartagena area and are looking for a city escape to relax and indulge- this is your place!

Sincerely the best hotel experience of my life. The place is beyond beautiful, the service is absolutely stellar, and the rooms/beach are just stunning. The staff is just incredibly kind and most are locals, making it an extra special experience to chat with them (Jose and Keider from the dinner restaurant made our experience just wonderful). I can't recommend highly enough. I definitely recommend taking the boat to the hotel instead of driving yourself.

Contrary to many reviews, my friend and I had an excellent stay at Las Islas, mainland. I would say we have high standards and whilst we actually reduced our stay based on many poor reviews to two nights, we extended to a third. We were in cabin 24 which is a standard treehouse with one of the best views on the island. You can see out to sea and are located very close to the restaurants and beach. The staff were all very welcoming and whilst English isn’t their forte, everything worked very well from start to finish. Some reviews comment on the condition of the hotel/facilities and I would broadly disagree with the scathing remarks. The treehouses are in very good condition and have many small touches such as an ice machine, a dry bag for water activities, cute drawstring bags for getting around, and the gold buggy service was excellent. I wonder if some reviews are targeting the ‘Isleta’ sister hotel on an island c 4 min boat ride away as we didn’t encounter the same challenges others seemed to apparently face. The ‘app’ doesn’t work super well but the phone in your room achieves the same outcome and indeed whilst service isn’t the Four Seasons, they are very accommodating and keen to help and be as quick as possible, taking into consideration some cabins aren’t that proximate to certain facilities. Breakfast was a highlight and a lovely setting to start the day. In terms of activities, the plankton tour and the massage I had was very good and a great experience. Onto some cons. Restaurant offering is average and they couldn’t cook my fish properly which was a bit of a shame. If you’re staying for over 3 nights you risk getting bored I think there is some work to do around training and management. Whilst not drastic, things can feel disjointed communication wise for example between staff and the spa and issues can easily be pushed onto the guest rather than being taken away and resolved behind the scenes as one may expect. Would definitely recommend going to Las Islas.

Well worth the visit!! The amazing food, the breathtaking sunsets, and the serene atmosphere that surrounded our treetop bungalow made our stay at Las Islas a memorable one. With a solid noise ordnance constantly enforced, this place leaves you to take in the natural soundtrack that mother earth has in store for you. Combined with the surrounding beauty of this well kept hidden gem, our experience was like no other. A must see for nature lovers, and quiet seekers.

It was a good experience. We had some issues at the beginning with transportation and their phones did not work. The receptionist was not the warmest of employees so the welcome was not as we expected even less so after all the hassle we had to go through to get there. The rest of the staff was super friendly and accommodating though. They did invite us to a free dinner at their restaurant to make up for the transportation hassle. They also organized a private boat tour with Teddy, who was a great guide. They were very well prepared and accommodating, the tour also included a snorkeling tour and we got to see a few of the islands around. Highly recommend that tour and the bioluminescent night tour. The rooms were good but needed a little tlc.
