😠 I considered booking with them until one of their employees made racist remarks towards me. Since I’m Asian, one younger employee kept calling me Japon when I wasn’t interested in hearing him out. Do not book with Samaria, a company ran by racists People often mention tour, experience, snorkeling, agency, beach, para, minutes, time, Baru, guide,

We did a day trip to Tayrona National park with Samaria Tours. The bus was not too comfortable but clean and the staff was nice and helpful. Since we were the only non-spanish speaking people on the tour, we got our own translator for the whole trip- free of charge. Lunch was included and we had the choice between three different menues, ours was tasty. The negative side of the trip was that after all we only saw one crowded -but really beautiful- beach. I expected to see more of the park.

We purchased a package called "Baru+islas" for 120k COP, expecting to enjoy a relaxing stay at Baru beach and explore one of the Rosario Islands. However, from the start, there were clear signs of trouble. The tour company failed to confirm our pick-up time despite two messages to the agent who sold us the tour, and we were eventually informed at 6:15 a.m. on the day of the tour that the pick-up time was 8 a.m. During the bus journey, the tour guide discouraged us from choosing the aquarium or snorkeling options, pushing us towards a supposedly superior option called "snorkeling VIP" that was even cheaper. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a major disappointment. The boat took us to canals near Baru beach, promising to spot exotic animals like anacondas and crocodiles, but all we saw were raccoons being fed. Next, we were taken to a hotel for a staged photo opportunity, pretending we were staying there. The snorkeling part of the tour was equally subpar. They provided old and leaky snorkeling masks, and the boat crew artificially fed fish to create the illusion of a thriving underwater world for photo ops. The entire experience lasted a mere 10 minutes, and the boat was not well-equipped for less agile participants. Upon arriving at the beach, we found the staff to be pleasant, but the included lunch was disappointing, and everything was overpriced. They even charged for simply sitting in a chair for a few minutes. It was evident that the agency had a cozy relationship with a specific restaurant, leading us to question the fairness of their recommendations. The payment process was also questionable, as the agency conveniently lacked an ATM terminal and charged an extra 15% through a third party, which we managed to negotiate down to 10%. This practice gave the impression that they were trying to squeeze more money out of tourists at every opportunity. When we tried to express our dissatisfaction at the agency, they became defensive and claimed that everything was clearly explained, which couldn't be further from the truth. The entire experience was confusing and misleading, leaving us to decide on the spot without proper information. Their response became aggressive until we dropped the request for a refund, as our main concern was not the money but the regrettable waste of a day on such a disappointing tour. In conclusion, I rarely write negative reviews, but this tour experience was by far the worst I've encountered. They seemed to view tourists as mere sources of money and were willing to exploit every opportunity to extract as much as they could. Their claims of prioritizing happy tourists and using feedback for improvement rang hollow, as the reality was quite the opposite. I strongly advise others to avoid this tourist trap and seek more reputable options for an enjoyable vacation experience.

Our hopes were high as we eagerly purchased the "Baru+islas" package for 120k COP, anticipating an unforgettable experience at Baru beach and the enchanting Rosario Islands. However, what awaited us was a series of disappointing surprises, leaving us with a bitter taste in our mouths. Right from the start, the tour agency's lack of communication raised concerns. Despite sending two messages to the agent, we received no confirmation of the pick-up time until the day of the tour, when they called us at 6:15 a.m. to inform us of an 8 a.m. pick-up. Already, we were off to a rocky start. On the bus, the tour guide managed to cast doubts on the aquarium and snorkeling options, favoring a so-called "snorkeling VIP" alternative. What they conveniently left out was that this VIP option was organized by their associates, raising suspicions about the objectivity of their recommendation. The "snorkeling VIP" experience turned out to be far from what we expected. We found ourselves on a cramped boat, navigating through canals near Baru beach, only to encounter raccoons being fed—hardly the exotic wildlife we were promised. As if that wasn't enough, we were taken to a hotel for staged photos, pretending to be guests, which felt contrived and disingenuous. The snorkeling activity was no better. The gear provided was outdated and leaked, and the crew artificially fed the fish, making it seem like we were surrounded by an abundance of marine life for photo opportunities. Regrettably, the entire snorkeling "adventure" lasted a mere 10 minutes, and the boat's inadequate provisions made it challenging for older participants to safely board. Arriving at the beach, we encountered friendly staff, but the included lunch left much to be desired, and the pricing for everything else was exorbitant. They even charged us for simply sitting in a chair for a few minutes, hinting at a cozy partnership between the agency and a particular restaurant. The payment process was another letdown, as the agency claimed not to have an ATM terminal, resulting in an additional 15% charge through a third party. While we managed to negotiate it down to 10%, the whole arrangement seemed suspicious and profit-driven. When we voiced our dissatisfaction at the agency, they defensively insisted that everything was well-explained, which couldn't have been further from the truth. The entire experience was a confusing and misleading ordeal, leaving us to make rushed decisions without adequate information. Their aggressive response only subsided when we decided not to pursue a refund, as our primary concern was the disappointing waste of our precious time on this ill-fated tour. In conclusion, it is rare for us to write negative reviews, but this tour turned out to be a regrettable tourist trap. The agency seemed more focused on their own gain than providing an enjoyable and authentic experience for their customers. Their claims of prioritizing happy tourists and using feedback for improvement were clearly hollow, leaving us disheartened by this misadventure. I strongly advise fellow travelers to steer clear of this disappointing tour and explore more reputable options for a truly memorable vacation.

A Frustrating Tourist Trap Our decision to purchase the "Baru+islas" package for 120k COP turned out to be a major disappointment. We were promised a delightful stay at Baru beach and an exciting visit to one of the Rosario Islands. However, right from the beginning, we encountered several red flags that left us skeptical. The tour agency failed to fulfill their commitment of confirming the pick-up time despite our two messages to the selling agent. Eventually, on the day of the tour, we received a call at 6:15 a.m. informing us about an 8 a.m. pick-up time. During the bus journey, the tour guide discouraged us from choosing the aquarium or snorkeling options, advocating instead for the "snorkeling VIP" experience, claiming it was not only cheaper but superior. Little did we know that this "snorkeling VIP" option was organized by their own friends, making us question the fairness of their recommendation. Our disappointment further escalated as we embarked on the "snorkeling VIP" adventure. The small and overcrowded boat took us to canals near Baru beach, where the promised sighting of anacondas and crocodiles turned out to be nothing more than feeding raccoons. As if that wasn't enough, we were taken to a hotel for a staged photo session to pretend we were guests there, which felt utterly fake. The snorkeling experience was equally lackluster. They provided us with old, leaky snorkeling masks, and the boat crew artificially fed the fish to create the illusion of a thriving underwater world for photo opportunities. The entire snorkeling activity lasted a mere 10 minutes, and the boat lacked proper arrangements for less agile passengers to comfortably reboard. Upon reaching the beach, the staff seemed friendly, but the included lunch was disappointing and everything else came with exorbitant prices. To our surprise, they even charged us for simply sitting in a chair for a few minutes. We couldn't help but suspect a cozy business partnership between the agency and a specific restaurant. The payment process further raised doubts as the agency claimed they didn't have an ATM terminal and charged us an additional 15% through a third party, which we managed to negotiate down to 10%. This arrangement felt suspicious and suggested an attempt to squeeze extra money from unsuspecting tourists. When we expressed our dissatisfaction at the agency, they defensively insisted that everything was explained clearly, which was far from the truth. The whole experience was confusing and misleading, forcing us to make on-the-spot decisions without proper information. Their aggressive response only subsided when we dropped the request for a refund, as our main concern was the unfortunate waste of an entire day on such a disappointing tour. In conclusion, I seldom write negative reviews, but this experience was one of the worst tourist traps we have encountered. The agency seemed more interested in maximizing profits than ensuring a genuinely enjoyable experience for their customers. Their claims of prioritizing happy tourists and using feedback for improvement rang hollow, leaving us disheartened and regretful of choosing this tour. I strongly urge fellow travelers to steer clear of this tourist trap and explore more reputable options for an enriching vacation experience

This tour is a SCAM! Do NOT take the Rosario island tour. They snatched our expensive phone worth more than $2000 in the Cholon island and the tour guide did not offer any help. In fact it's clear everyone in the island is in this phone theft scam together because they rushed us to get back and not letting us look for our phone. During the rest of the tour, we constantly got bothered with overpriced items to buy. We felt unsafe and and had a very bad experience.

(Translated by Google) Regular. They sold us the 4 islands tour more expensive than other people who did the same tour. They took a long time to pick us up. The islands where they take you are overcrowded. Cholón is like hell but with water. Snorkeling the best, too short. They sell you that they are going to take pictures of you underwater with the fish and then nothing at all. The guide knew little of everything in general. I would not repeat (Original) Regular. No repetiría

(Translated by Google) Appalling. Worst impossible. We hired an excursion through Civitatis from Spain, to go to Tayrona a month in advance, for today. Last night a person, Nicolás, from JetSet wrote me telling me that at 4.30am they would pick us up at the hotel and that a guide would contact me before that time. Waiting at the door of the hotel, no one has come to pick us up, and no one has written to us. I contact the person from JetSet again and they pass me the contact of Carlos de Samaria tours, responsible for organizing it. He replied that the message from JetSet, he received it late, that he was already asleep at that time and could not include us on the list, that is why they did not come to pick us up and the tour was already leaving. And it stays so calm. We have been left standing at 4.30 in the morning, without a tour. of shame And I put a star because it is a requirement to be able to publish the comment. (Original) Pésimo. Y se queda tan tranquilo. Nos hemos quedado plantados a las 4.30 de la mañana, sin tour. De vergüenza. Y le pongo una estrella porque es requisito para poder publicar el comentario.

(Translated by Google) The worst tour I took in my life. We went to Parque Tayrona and in every detail they ripped us off. They stop at stops where they make you pay to go to the bathroom that is in completely unpleasant conditions. The path of the tour is in a terrible state and it is not for everyone (something that is never clarified) in addition to the fact that the guide leaves and does not accompany the rest of the group. You are only 40 minutes on the beach. The tour included coconut water, and they don't give it to you, also if you ask for it they tell you what you have to pay. They make you pay $50,000 to get back on horseback (the price set by the agency guide since the guys on the horses told us it was less) because they say that walking is worse. It is not like that, the people who return walking go through Plata and the ride is along a completely dangerous path, both for the animal and for the human. When they return they say that they leave you at the door of the hotel but they leave you blocks away at 10 at night, whichever is best for them, always. TOTALLY A DISASTER. I do not recommend it to anyone (Original) El peor tour que tomé en mi vida.

(Translated by Google) The seller of the Tairona Tour was very good. But what was accomplished during it was not the same. He offered us a panoramic tour of Barranquilla and Santa Marta, but they did not comply. If you don't have time for that. They shouldn't offer it! For the rest, Tairona is wonderful. (Translated by Google) Regular While staying in Cartagena we contracted to do a sunny day in Playa Blanca. We paid $40,000 per person and the next day someone from the same company offered it to us for $30,000. They pick you up at 7:30 am and it takes about an hour and fifteen more minutes to pick up all the other people and finally start the trip. They tell you that the trip takes 55min but in summary we arrived at the beach at almost 10 am. The bus leaves you about 10 minutes walking from the beach, the road is very unpleasant since it is full of garbage and there is almost no shade. Lunch was acceptable, a normal portion and a very small drink with those “juices” in powder. They sold us the rental of an umbrella on the beach with chairs for $50,000 At the time of the return we had to walk approximately 20 minutes to take the bus again. The guide Elías is very kind and honest. As a recommendation to be clearer with the times and handle standard prices since this generates distrust (Original) Regular Estando hospedados en Cartagena contratamos para hacer un día de sol en playa blanca.

Every single customer paid a different amount, you def have to negotiate a lower price. Very limited alcohol and beer for the open bar. They are trying to cut corners and save money. The trip felt rushed on the islands. Not really professional in my opinion. Music was terrible on the boat, rarely played music the customer’s wanted to listen to.
