Our
hopes
were
high
as
we
eagerly
purchased
the
"Baru+islas"
package
for
120k
COP,
anticipating
an
unforgettable
experience
at
Baru
beach
and
the
enchanting
Rosario
Islands.
However,
what
awaited
us
was
a
series
of
disappointing
surprises,
leaving
us
with
a
bitter
taste
in
our
mouths.
Right
from
the
start,
the
tour
agency's
lack
of
communication
raised
concerns.
Despite
sending
two
messages
to
the
agent,
we
received
no
confirmation
of
the
pick-up
time
until
the
day
of
the
tour,
when
they
called
us
at
6:15
a.m.
to
inform
us
of
an
8
a.m.
pick-up.
Already,
we
were
off
to
a
rocky
start.
On
the
bus,
the
tour
guide
managed
to
cast
doubts
on
the
aquarium
and
snorkeling
options,
favoring
a
so-called
"snorkeling
VIP"
alternative.
What
they
conveniently
left
out
was
that
this
VIP
option
was
organized
by
their
associates,
raising
suspicions
about
the
objectivity
of
their
recommendation.
The
"snorkeling
VIP"
experience
turned
out
to
be
far
from
what
we
expected.
We
found
ourselves
on
a
cramped
boat,
navigating
through
canals
near
Baru
beach,
only
to
encounter
raccoons
being
fed—hardly
the
exotic
wildlife
we
were
promised.
As
if
that
wasn't
enough,
we
were
taken
to
a
hotel
for
staged
photos,
pretending
to
be
guests,
which
felt
contrived
and
disingenuous.
The
snorkeling
activity
was
no
better.
The
gear
provided
was
outdated
and
leaked,
and
the
crew
artificially
fed
the
fish,
making
it
seem
like
we
were
surrounded
by
an
abundance
of
marine
life
for
photo
opportunities.
Regrettably,
the
entire
snorkeling
"adventure"
lasted
a
mere
10
minutes,
and
the
boat's
inadequate
provisions
made
it
challenging
for
older
participants
to
safely
board.
Arriving
at
the
beach,
we
encountered
friendly
staff,
but
the
included
lunch
left
much
to
be
desired,
and
the
pricing
for
everything
else
was
exorbitant.
They
even
charged
us
for
simply
sitting
in
a
chair
for
a
few
minutes,
hinting
at
a
cozy
partnership
between
the
agency
and
a
particular
restaurant.
The
payment
process
was
another
letdown,
as
the
agency
claimed
not
to
have
an
ATM
terminal,
resulting
in
an
additional
15%
charge
through
a
third
party.
While
we
managed
to
negotiate
it
down
to
10%,
the
whole
arrangement
seemed
suspicious
and
profit-driven.
When
we
voiced
our
dissatisfaction
at
the
agency,
they
defensively
insisted
that
everything
was
well-explained,
which
couldn't
have
been
further
from
the
truth.
The
entire
experience
was
a
confusing
and
misleading
ordeal,
leaving
us
to
make
rushed
decisions
without
adequate
information.
Their
aggressive
response
only
subsided
when
we
decided
not
to
pursue
a
refund,
as
our
primary
concern
was
the
disappointing
waste
of
our
precious
time
on
this
ill-fated
tour.
In
conclusion,
it
is
rare
for
us
to
write
negative
reviews,
but
this
tour
turned
out
to
be
a
regrettable
tourist
trap.
The
agency
seemed
more
focused
on
their
own
gain
than
providing
an
enjoyable
and
authentic
experience
for
their
customers.
Their
claims
of
prioritizing
happy
tourists
and
using
feedback
for
improvement
were
clearly
hollow,
leaving
us
disheartened
by
this
misadventure.
I
strongly
advise
fellow
travelers
to
steer
clear
of
this
disappointing
tour
and
explore
more
reputable
options
for
a
truly
memorable
vacation.
