We came here for dinner on a recommendation but we weren't too impressed with the food. Between the three of us, for the starters we shared the octopus (the flavour was good but the octopus was a bit chewy), the lobster salad (lobster was dry and really small quantity for price point), eggplant (miso flavour was great) and for the mains, we shared the pesto fettuccine with salmon (sauce was very oily but salmon well cooked) and the shrimp and fish curry (completely underseasoned and lacked spices/flavour, it was almost inedible for me). The atmosphere was relaxed and staff were friendly, so that somewhat made up made up for the food.

High hopes dashed by terrible food and bad service. Booked with excitement a few days after they reopened in a new location near the clock tower. However, the food took forever to arrive (45 mins+ for ceviche appetizer) was expensive and some of it tasted horrible. The langostina was just shrimp so that was disappointing, but then chicken main dish was so bad we couldn’t eat half of it as the meat had strange hard spots that couldn’t be chewed. Either really bad meat or they use some cooking that makes it inedible. All this and the price is very high. There are many better places in Cartagena.

Good service and delicious food! We ordered Falafels, ravioli and fish... all excellent! I really liked the atmosphere, with nice people and a very chic tropical fresh and creative decoration. In addition, live music in the background is very nice and pleasant. Consider there’s a small walk near Cartagenas Clock tower which might get very crowded.. once you enter the restaurant it’s a delight in itself. We will definitely go back

Dinner at Don Juan was exceptional. The cocktails were great, the appetizers were to die for and the mains were impeccable. There is a lot of hype about this space and the new location and it was well worth the visit. It is located by the clock tower so it’s very accesible as well. When it comes to the service, the servers were very attentive but it took quite a while to get the food. Be patient and enjoy the experience :)

Beautiful restaurant with a nice selection of Italian-inspired or fusion dishes. We enjoyed the cocktails and dessert too. There were a lot of large groups dining when we went, so reservations might be a good idea!

Fantastic food, atmosphere, and service. We enjoyed the fresh salad, pesto salmon fettuccine, jumbo shrimp, and banana bread for dessert.

Delicious cocktails! Good service and about the food I can only speak about the meat: great! The area is not the best area, but it is still in the old city walls. If you are inside the walls I would absolutely recommend it.

So extremely happy to see Don Juan open again . Welcome back !! It is so evident that Every detail was selected with so much care. As always the Don Juan Team exceeded my expectations. The Uchuva mojito is a mus in this place along with the Muelitas de Cangrejo. If you want to eat the most amazing steak the apunta de Anca is a MUST ! The meat melted in my mouth .. no need for a knife . Just perfection .. the new location could not be better for this fantastic Restaurant Thank you Team Don Juan for always making the experience there memorable. Cant wait to be back

(Translated by Google) Terrible service. We waited 1 hour for the food and in the end we complained and a waiter came to tell us that the order had not left. They watered the wine when they served, you had to ask 2-3 times for things because they forgot them. In the end the food was made on the spot and nothing came in the cooking we expected, another dish (oxtail) was very salty. I will not return, and I do not recommend it. Very high price for such bad service and experience.

Great place for a big group dinner. We had the chef recommend s few plates and each one was amazing. The tataki stake was to due for and so was the dessert with pinnapple and ice cream.

Food is good but be wary of the drinks. They make many drinks wrong. This is not a matter of being trendy with interesting variations, when you put an espresso martini on the menu, it should be an espresso martini, not some hybrid with a fruity liquor or something in it. (Edit after restaurant's reply): I would propose that you change the names so it's clear what you're getting as a customer. For example "Espresso Martini with a local twist".

The drinks are phenomenal. The food was mediocre. The service was good until we needed the check. That took forever for the waiter to come back. I ordered the jumbo shrimp. It was bland. Friend ordered the oxtail, said it was mediocre

Best overall meal we had in Cartageña. Food was fantastic, service was excellent, and the drink menu ranged from local to classic. Loved the ambiance and general vibe - would definitely recommend!

Fantastic restaurant. Beautiful interior, attentive and friendly waiter and great food. Make sure you don’t miss out on the lobster tail or the tuna. Everything we had was amazing including the cocktails. We’ll be back for sure.

We just had an excellent dinner at Don Juan, clearly one of the best restaurants in Cartagena. In particular, the ceviche and beef tataki appetizers were great. Also enjoyed the corvina and shrimp in a coconut sauce. Do not miss the pineapple and vanilla ice cream dessert. Will surely be back.

Excellent quality food, tough to judge whether it is worth the price as it is significantly more expensive than most other restaurants in the city. However, excellent staff, great selection of wine and creative, tasty dishes.

Mmmmmm I’m not impressed. It’s got potential but the menu has some limitations. I had the Solomillo but the flavours weren’t just there neither on the meat nor the sides. Also, wine by the glass comes only on 3oz servings…Someone else in my table had the pasta and the sauce was rather watery…. I wouldn’t come back, unfortunately.

I have been coming to Don Juan for years—when it was a small restaurant that was hard to get into. Their sister restaurant, Maria, was also wonderful. Unfortunately, they have exchanged quality for earnings, replacing their small restaurant with a mammoth sized locale with poor service, even poorer food, in a less than desirable location. There are much better options in Cartagena. This is not worth spending your time or your money.

Very pleasant & relaxed atmosphere in a heritage building with lovely interior. We tried about 8-10 appetizers and were not disappointed in any way, the dishes each had unique flavours and were also nice and light (not heavy). We tried also 2 risottos with prawns and fish being our hilights of dinner (exquisite!). We finished with 2 amazing deserts - the bread pudding (delicioso...) and the pina colada desert just as lovely. Service was excellent and we were able to talk to the owner/chef who explained some of the dishes to us. Highly recommend this restaurant if you visit Cartagena.

Sadly, nothing like their old location [which was 5 stars]. Service was extremely slow, food was ok, and waited almost 1 hour for the check. Maybe they're still figuring things out.

It was a beautiful and excellent experience. I got to eat the best plates in Cartagena, Colombia. Hope for all the people that come to have a great dinner in this restaurant. Don Juan una comida excelente donde disfrutarás mucho tu cena

Honestly the best food I have had, not only in Cartagena, but in Colombia. I ordered ravioli con setas🏆, torta con tomates y tocino🫶 y lomo Wellington 🔝. Everything was excellent 👌 Few ingredients and excellent quality. The kind of food I really like. The service is sufficient. The place unfortunately is not up the quality of the food🤷
