Great experience! There are certainly many flamingos in August, even though some guides say the season is October to April. The place is very orderly with good parking, toilet and shops. A boat costs 2400 pesos for 1.5 hours trip. We enjoyed ours a lot, it was nice and windy in the boat and no mosquitoes at all. Well worth a visit.

The tour boat from the river was only an hour and a half long, which is an hour shorter compared to the boat tours offered from the beaches (where you don't even get to see anything during an hour of the boat ride). Unlike the boat tours from the beaches, we didn't have to wear a mandatory life jacket. Our boat sat six people, and we only had to wait for 40 minutes to get a full boat. Our English-speaking guide was very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions. I was particularly interested in seeing Roseate Spoonbills, and he knew just the spot where they were hanging out in the afternoon. I highly recommend this tour.

beautiful view of nature and its surprisingly uncomplicated, sadly for mexico the prices are rather expensive, we payed about 120USD for 6 people, every person more wouldve cost an additional 20USD

What a great boat trip! On arrival in the carpark you are immediately 'attacked' by people wanting to become your new best friend and share a boat (and the cost) with them. Once you have formed a party then you can hire a boat from the tent in the carpark. 2,400 pesos seems to be the current going rate, which is split between the number of people in your group. If you want to swim make sure you get changed in the bathrooms before getting on the boat. On the boat trip itself saw masses of wildlife. Whizzed and then drifted through the mangroves. Went for a swim in a jungle pool with slightly sulphurous water bubbling up. Great experience.

It was nice that my daughter and I didn't have to share the boat with anyone. It was an enjoyable boat tour but too short for the amount that was being charged. We visited in May and there wasn't nearly as many flamingos as we were hoping to see but that was my fault for not checking the peak months... there was a crocodile near the area we were supposed to swim at so we passed up on that opportunity.. they didn't accept card or American cash so we had to get money out of the ATM which was inconvenient. It was a cool little adventure but meh, not a must see.

Beautiful experience and fair prices. You have to be patient as you have to wait until there are enough people to fill the boat. But the wait is not too long as there are some friendly and tame raccoons behind the house.

Great little spot to take a motor boat tour of the river and mangrove. We saw tons of flamingos, a couple alligators, and lots of other birds. We also got to swim in the mangrove natural spring! The price is per boat and ours could seat 8. I believe it was a little under 2000 pesos.
