Nice in depth tour but only in french. Very nice tiny village with an old church so there are more things to see than just the house. Very good souvenir shop with lots of books on Sand, Chopin ,Liszt.

Delightful old village in the very centre of France with George Sand's house and garden. Beautifully maintained house in a wonderful old village with a small hotel-restaurant, a very old church and the local tourist office. The village reminded us of a National Trust village somewhere in the British Isles. The domain is run by the French Centre for Historic Monuments and there is a super gift shop ;-) There's also a tea room which is open July through October for both sweet and savoury dishes. The guided tours run several times a day in French only. The guides speak clearly so it's not too hard for a beginner French speaker to understand. We very much enjoyed our visit.

This very pleasant French manor house and gardens make for an agreeable excursion. I'm not entirely convinced she would have approved of its being so faithfully preserved as she knew it but it certainly gives a sense of what it must have felt like to the numerous illustrious contemporaries of this very independent woman.

We walked around the gardens and had a coffee at the small cafe. All very pleasant.

There was a four hour wait for the next available tour so we were unable to go in the house. The outside, garden and gift shop were nice. It’s worthwhile strolling through the village.

Too bad they closed the tearoom they used to have here. Makes it less worth the visit now. The place is still pretty especially in Spring.

Stunning location stunning house. Downside is you get a tour of the house in French which is absolutely epic... hard if you don't speak Frenchand you be then be standing around for an hour and a half. I don't understand why they not let you just walk around or at least have an English guided tour. The marionette exhibition upstairs bookshop is free. Closed between 12 and 2 restaurant opposite little church has an amazing tart tartin but is very expensive. If you go on a Thursday the little cafe in the house grounds has a nice affordable menu.

The House of George Sand is an enlightening journey into the life of the famed French novelist. The museum offers well-preserved rooms and artifacts, providing an intimate look into Sand's world. While the exhibits were captivating, some sections might benefit from more detailed explanations. Overall, it's a must-visit for literature enthusiasts and anyone interested in 19th-century French history. Highly recommend for a cultural excursion.

Beautiful estate, very well maintained, with a great gift shop / library. The guide was very competent. The team in charge truly honor the memory of George Sand.
