We stayed one night only for a local staycation. The hotel was under construction which would have been nice to know if posted on their website. The rooms have been renovated but the quality of fine finishes (caulking, grout, fire sprinkler head covers falling off, etc) are very amateur and at $500-600+ per night is no where near standard. The restaurant downstairs breakfast was very good and recommend. Recommend walking around the lobby and outside as the building is an incredible piece.

We had a great stay overall at Mills House! The rooms are small but nicely updated, lots of charging options, bathrooms are nicely appointed and styled. With the rooms being small the bathrooms are tight as well, but no more than most hotel rooms these days. They’ve done a fantastic job maintaining the charm of this building. A couple things to note about the service, all staff were very hospitable, but there were times when we couldn’t find someone when we needed to. Front desk was empty at times, no service rounding the pool area etc. Housekeeping was great, but the lack of staff presence is odd at a hotel like this. The pool is very small, so be prepared to hunt for a spot on busy, hot, weekends. It can have some a party atmosphere depending on who is staying at the time. We had younger kids with us so finding the right time to enjoy the pool was tricky. The best part about this hotel is the location, it’s absolutely perfect as a jumping off point for visiting Charleston. Lots of great things to do and see within walking distance. Parking is a bit pricey, valet $55 nightly, or $20 public garage parking behind the hotel.

We have been staying at Hilton hotels for many years as diamond members and have stayed at many Curio collection hotels all over the US and Europe. This hotel was the most expensive Curio we have stayed at, and unfortunately we will not be staying again. The hotel is beautiful and in a great area, but the staff and prices do not exceed our expectations. Overall the stay at Mills House was nice. The location is perfect to walk to all the shops, restaurants and more. If you are an active person the location is perfect, however this hotel is not perfect for relaxation. The pool is quite small for the size of the hotel, there are few places to lay out unless you're there early, and the water was cloudy and green. We only stayed up there for an hour and barely got in the water because it was gross. However the pool is lively and the bartender was fantastic! If you are at a swim up room I would be hesitant to stay there, it is quite loud. The valet does take a little while but you could tell the staff was working very hard. Sometimes it was difficult to find someone to give our keys back too when we returned. The iron rose has very good food and the drinks were good. The service staff was fantastic and we loved talking to them. However, the bar staff was sub par. They could use more training to keep up with the liquor selection and pricing, as well as being in the location they are in. They were not very friendly and didn't know much about classic cocktails all while having exquisite drinks on their menu. Rooms were nice but they are small and lack space to put your belongings. There is decent closet space but very few places to put any of your clothes. If you are staying more than a weekend you will not be able to unpack everything. For having a corner room only staying a few days we had trouble finding space to put any of our stuff. The bathroom also has minimal space to put any of your toiletries as well. Overall, we are not upset with our stay, it just wasn't special. If the price was different, my expectations would have met this hotel's amenities.

A near-perfect hotel in every way. If you're expecting the period-appropriate decor of the Wyndham Grand days, be aware it's had a major update that won't be to everyone's taste but we loved it. Beware - the rates you see posted don't include what was for us $85 a night in a multitude of taxes, fees, and "charges." Try to get the final price if you're watching your spending.

We loved our stay at the mills house! Great location walking distance to everything! The morning coffee from the cafe was perfect! Loved the vibe of the whole hotel! Having the pool was great too, but it’s very hard to get a lounge chair. They only have loungers around the pool itself but I’d be fine in a lounger and having to walk over to the pool, just an idea - they should add more loungers and unbreo all over the second level deck rather than chairs and tables! We made it work and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! When we visit Charleston again we would definitely stay at the Mills house!

Beautiful boutique style hotel with a great courtyard to sit and relax at and small pool that feels like a resort. The rooms are spacious and clean and have an elegant feel to them. The hotel also has a nice bar for those who enjoy a nice drink with good atmosphere. The location is also great, it’s a short distance (2-4min walk) from King St and all the shops.

My boyfriend and I stayed four nights this summer on a vacation. Aside from the stunning southern charm feel and the fantastic courtyard, the first thing we couldn't stop talking about was beautifully intoxicating smell! The lobby smelled like the freshest flowers grown atop of the most beautiful rainbow, haha, but really, it was amazing. The room staff was very friendly and accommodating in every way. The waitstaff at the restaurant were knowledgeable and hospitable to every request. I would highly recommend having a cocktail in the courtyard before each dinner in or outside the hotel. That really sets the mood. Mills house is a great location to almost anywhere downtown. A short walk to the waters edge or to the shops and restaurants. During that short walk you can take in all the ambience of the town and it's famous architecture.

Location is great, coffee shop is great, vibe is awesome. Good luck getting a chair by the pool. We were there for 3 days and could never get a chair by the pool. People save them for others and sit on them for the entire day (at least it seemed that way). I guess you could pay someone to get a chair by the pool at 7 am and sit on it all day so that you could have a chance in getting a chair? I couldn't figure out the pool-chair system. Our in-room Keurig didn't work; we had to call 5 times to get a new one. Otherwise, great hotel and location.

The hotel is beautiful. The staff is amazing. But the reason we booked here is because they had a pool. People are going out to the pool at 6am and 7am and laying their stuff out on chair then leaving for a while. Then people are out there from 10 am - 6 and there’s a bunch of people waiting to get a chair. The attendant are trying to make everyone happy but there needs to be some kind of time limit and or regulation on pool chairs. We have been here for two days and couldn’t sit by the pool.

Unfortunately we only stayed here for one evening. This hotel is majestic! We loved sitting out by the pool and the fountain and listening to the live music. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

The hotel staff was very nice. The room is very nice and the little patio was a nice place to sit outside. The only issue we had was the wedding that was taking place during our stay and the Music was heard throughout the hotel. You could hear it all night Saturday as well as a Friday night party they had including a band and it was very disturbing. Both nights. I would check to see if there is a Wedding there on the weekend you plan to book. Besides that the hotel was awesome and the location is perfect.

Incredible location. Close to the Charleston Market and so many restaurants. Many of the walking tours and carriage rides start close to the hotel. Restaurant serves all 3 meals, upscale but comfortable and great food and service. Cafe for lite fare is open till 8:30pm. Too chilly to use outdoor pool. Happy hour by the outside fireplace was wonderful

Looking for a great place to stay in Charleston then look no further than The Mills House. This is a remarkable hotel in every respect. The staff is fantastic and willing help where they can. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Also, the rooms match up with the impression you get in the lobby when you walk in. An amazing place to stay that is really close or centered around everything. Touring, shopping on King Street, eating at fine restaurants it's all close by.

Excellent location. I booked a king room. It was pretty small but very well decorated. Seems like most hotels are changing to all showers these days, but I miss being able to soak in a tub. Bed was comfortable, there was a coffee maker and small fridge in the room. No noise problems. Wi-fi was not great. Be prepared for lots of add on taxes and extra fees though.

My stay at the Mills House was absolutely lovely. The property is a beautiful historic building and my room was upgraded to a very spacious suite, complete with fluffy robes. The front desk staff was very friendly and the location is extremely convenient for sightseeing. I was also able to use my $15 food and beverage credit to grab breakfast at the on-property cafe. Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here for a conference in October. The hotel was VERY cute inside and out. A cafe is in the bottom of the hotel and perfect for morning coffee. Excellent location, extremely clean, and fabulous lobby. Walking distance to the water. Would definitely stay here again!
