There were other recommendations that people gave us for walking tours, but even though this is a small company, we felt that we would get a detailed and fun tour with this company. We absolutely LOVED the tour. Brian , our tour guide, did a fantastic job balancing out history with his own personal anecdotes. He was warm, funny, and seemed genuinely interested in the group. The tour itself walks by several important sites and again Brian did a great job. We went in early February and it was sunny, but chilly. However, since it is off season, our group of 10 were the only ones on the tour. When we come back, we definitely want to book a private tour with Brian.

We took a girl’s trip to Charleston, and wanted to enjoy a walking tour in the morning. We are so glad we booked through Sole and got Fin as our guide! Fin was so friendly and engaging. We primarily wanted to learn of the rich history of Charleston, and that’s exactly what we got! Fin is clearly highly educated but told the history in a compelling, understandable, and captivating way. There was also a perfect balance of walking, and also stopping to listen and learn. Also, safety was a high priority and there was a nice break halfway through. This tour made me want to go on so many other tours! I would book for certain and try to get Fin as your guide. Highly recommend.

What an awesome tour! And Brian was our awesome tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and we learned A LOT about Charleston. He was friendly and funny and spoke loud enough for everyone to hear. He made sure we were all in a shady spot to keep us cool before he would talk about the historic site we were looking at. The best part was when he took us by the Battery/Water and we were all surprised to see DOLPHINS in the water. It was fun watching them feed on the fish and Brian continued talking about the homes along the Battery and made sure we were getting our knowledge of Charleston in even though we were watching the Dolphins. He answered questions and added tidbits to the history and made everyone feel comfortable. He was the best and this tour and Brian will come highly recommended! Thank you!

Brian was our guide for my bachelorette walking tour and he was amazing! Professional, informative and passionate about the history of Charleston. It truly amazes me how he retains information. He made the tour everything we wanted and more— he had facts that tied back to places where my guests and I live, which was cool to see how many connections Charleston has to other cities. The gardens, homes and parks he took us by were beautiful and he clearly has many great connections in the area as well!

As part of a college reunion, I was part of a group of women who took a walking tour of Charleston with Brian from Charleston Sole Walking Tours. Honestly, he was the best tour guide I ever had. His knowledge was encyclopedic. Brian mentioned that he not only read a lot of literature but also went back to "primary" references. The librarians among our group, and the rest of us, were delighted to hear how thorough he was in his research. His breadth and depth of knowledge, and his ability to expand on any topic were phenomenal. As a group we talked endlessly afterwards how impressed we were and that we would highly recommend Brian to our friends and relatives. If you plan a trip to Charleston, treat yourself to documentary-level knowledge, all told in an engaging way, by Brian with Charleston Sole Walking.

Fantastic tour with a true story teller. Our guide Fin was terrific and told a great story of the city of Charleston and it’s history. He showed us the sites but interwove how the history of Charleston evolved and how it connects all Americans to this great city. I would highly recommend this tour!

Our entire family really enjoyed our walking tour with Charleston Sole. Brian as extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour was over two hours which felt like a huge bargain given how much he shared and how much we saw.

Really enjoyed Brian's tour. Learned a lot even though I've been to Charleston multiple times. Highly recommend, it's a great value and last just the right amount of time.
