The "pain management" department is a joke. They got so tired of my excruciating and constant pain I've been suffering with for two very long years leading me to calling & emailing in between appts because they're not accurately documenting how I'm feeling during the appointments that they sent me to a so called "pain rehab" program where they tried to tell me the pain is all in my head and to stop going to the doctor. They've loaded me up on the max doses of medications that aren't working & won't switch me to something else or try anything else because they simply won't listen to me. I am miserable!!!!!!! And my pain is making me crazy!!!!!

Worst experience. Dirty room, ‘brown stuff’ on the toilet, mold in the shower. Also billing me for medication that was not given because pharmacy was closed for the evening on night of release. Over 2 months later and they continue to bill for the medication without being able to prove pick up, because it’s impossible! Completely fraudulent.

I would not go to MUSC if it was the last doctor's office in the United States. My experience has been beyond horrendous with this office. I was originally quoted 4 months for an appointment then they "fit" me in two months later. (Oh, also don't forget the 2+ hours we were here for a 10 minute appointment. Apt time was 11, we were seeing at 1:15 PM. The whole waiting room was talking about how bad MUSC was - clearly, I should have listened.) . I was told I needed surgery - they scheduled it for 9 weeks out... Fast forward a while, they called me on 5/11 and told me that my surgery was approved, did the whole pre-op, told me where to go everything. I drove 3+ hours to Charleston for surgery, called them to see when I should be there for them to tell me I wasn't approved. No one bothered to call and tell me this. Nope, they didn't care. After spend 35 minutes on with them, they could care less that I wasted my day, my gas and paid for a hotel room to come for surgery. They claimed insurance denied in back at the beginning of the month. Didn't bother to tell me that. Instead the lady had the guts to tell me to call insurance and figure it out. Mind you, she told me this at 5pm when they were closing. After wasting all of my day and so much money traveling here, I am now back at square one finding a new doctor. Save yourself a few months, hours of wasted time and a massive headache and just find a new office to start with. MUSC has been nothing but issues from day one. I would not refer them to my worst enemy. I would give zero stars if I could.

I wish I would have listened to all the red flags before coming here. First, my insurance couldn't contact them because all of their emails, phone numbers, and fax numbers were old or not functioning. Then we were sent to a location farther away or we wouldn't have been seen in the next 4 months. All my husband needed was bloodwork and all we received was a $3,500 bill with the reassurance of 'oh everything seems fine, he probably doesn't have Lupus but we don't know why xyz are so high.' Avoid this place at all costs. It's a student hospital charging an arm and a leg for bandaids.

Do not go here unless you know the fees you will incur. I finally had health insurance and chose to use MUSC to set up my primary care provider. After a few doctors appointments and blood work- for which I paid a copay every time and they accept my insurance- I now owe them 450$. This is what I owe after insurance. Apparently you are charged once as a primary patient and then once as a hospital patient every time you go here. No one told me this and when I inquired about the fees they did not answer for over a month(by this time I had had multiple doctors visits) and when they did they were very rude to me. On top of these fees, when I went for my routine pap (which after the thousands insurance covered I still owed over 200$ For) the nurse asked if a student could come in to observe with the doctor, which I agreed to. Without asking me my permission the student preformed the pap and half of the breast exam. I did not agree to this and would not have if they had asked me. I usually don’t post bad reviews, but this place just perpetuates the disappointing health care system in America. I would have been better off going to urgent cares for health checkups without insurance than waiting for insurance and going here. Do not go here. Go ANYWHERE else that your insurance will cover.

MUSC Rutledge Tower, employees who assist with MRI’s are the worst as well as the patient liaison. Tameka and her manager you guys are horrible, and your attitude stinks… your here for the patients not yourself. Radiology learn to do your job and finds things out before trying not to help a patient. Patients are the reason you guys are employed.

Absolutely the best hospital in our state! Best medical staff I have ever had to communicate with. Compassionate, caring and attentive. The physicians on staff will make it their personal goal to heal you to full recovery. I love all of them.

Beware of deceptive billing practices and the way they bill facility fees. I recommend staying away from doctors affiliated with MUSC

Terrible service sat in the waiting room for about 6 or 7 hours honestly lost tract of time. Very rude staff at front desk. Didn't even check up on patient while waiting when he was struggling right in front of them! Went to the back doctor and nurses are nice. Try to schedule and MRI and 2 weeks later a day before the appointment they claim that it hasn't been approved. Terrible hospital terrible organization. NEVER going to musc again. Terrible.

I recently had an MRI done at MUSC's Rutledge Tower & it was probably the best experience of any MRI'S I've ever had. I was able to be dropped off at the door where the valet parking usually is. I had an evening appointment, so they'd already closed for the day. That entrance was still open & that's the one I chose. Radiology is on the 1st floor but it is a bit of a hike. However, assistance is available if you need it. There is a Help Desk located to the right as soon as you enter the building. Radiology was easy to find. Just follow the signs. It wasn't crowded at all, which I really liked! That's probably because my appointment was in the evening but Radiology is open until 8:00 PM if anyone would like to know. I didn't have much of a wait & the radiologists were super nice. They gave me ear plugs & put headphones over my ears so I could listen to music. I couldn't hear sound of the MRI constantly knocking at all which was a 1st! I was in & out of there in no time at all! One of the radiologists was kind enough to wheel me out so I could sit under the portico to wait for my ride to arrive. My visit to MUSC's Radiology at Rutledge Tower was perfect! I will definitely choose this location for my next MRI as well. My experience with them was without a doubt a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ one and I highly recommend them. 👍🏻

It is very difficult to find parking, and all the one-way streets make it even worse. Then you have people trying to drive through your back window, being impatient. The actual Rutledge Towers is right in the middle of town. It is difficult to know where you are expected to be for your appointment. I don't like going downtown to these buildings. I would much rather go to one of their other offices.

Parking is very poor. They have a small side lot, mostly for handicap parking. They do offer vallet parking, but it was $10 (cash) each time I've used it. If you are in need of the types of services provided here, it would be ideal for you to bring a capable person to help you with tasks. There are 10 floors. You may have to visit more than one. Staff is great. Doctors/future doctors are competent, and most seem to genuinely care about their patients. Nurses and other employees are mostly pleasant, and it's not uncommon to have the feeling that everyone there cares...

This Hospital is old, musky, outdated, dusty, small, stinky,.....that's just the housekeepers. I'm not going to get started on Bifocal Housekeeping manager. OMG they need to keep all the Blacks downstairs because they look and talk so ghetto and I'm tired of seeing those damn Bonnets. I wish they would have more class about themselves but after all they clean toilets for a living....go figure huh.

Doctor Michelle Hwang did a fantastic repair on my ear from a botched up job at Trident. She took great care in making sure every attention to detail was covered. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a separate charge for the facility and the physician when you go here but it’s worth it because you get the right care. Pay the $12 for the valet parking at the front door, so worth it.

The entrance to the handicap surface lot needs to be moved to the exit. When the valet is backed up, it causes an issue getting into the lot.

Dr Davis and the Internal Medicine clinic are the best!! They are always helpful and patient oriented. If you have to wait for your appointment, it is because Dr Davis is spending needed time with another patient. Don't get upset, commend them for the exceptional care they provide all day!
