This is a free fountain in the historic park. The fountain is indeed shaped exactly like a pineapple. You'll almost certainly be waiting in line for a photo if you visit on a Saturday. That said, it's a very well sculpted fountain and worth your time to visit. The waterfront is next to it where you'll likely be able to see dolphins and a nice sunrise if you get here early enough.

This is a very beautiful fountain. I want to look at him and look at him. I think this is the main attraction of the city. Nearby there is an embankment with a large swing, another fountain, where there is also some information about the history of the city, and a water taxi stop. From the embankment you can see a beautiful bridge on the other side. We parked on the next street, it was close. I recommend visiting this place!

Neat little walk on the pier. We saw dolphins, the bridge, and the aircraft carrier across the river. Also, you can see Fort Somter. Walk a little more to see the pineapple fountain. It's a cool area.

Nice place to spend the day on the waterfront. The pineapple fountain is so picturesque and a great place to cool your heels. The swinging benches along the pier are a welcome place to rest those same heels.

Hellooo!!!! Well maintained fountain. Not much too say about one of the Charleston’s biggest landmarks. Recommend visiting this pineapple shaped fountain during the day to appreciate the water in the background!!! Also it is very nice to walk around this area…

It was a beautiful place to walk around. Must be nice to watch sunrise or sunset here. We would love to come back in the fall or spring. It's too hot but we still enjoyed our visit.

It's a pretty area. Depending on which direction you go, there are a lot of things to walk around to see or do. *So, be prepared for a lot of walking! Plenty of: Old Charleston History, Shopping, Dining, Sight Seeing or just sitting to relax ... Parking can be tricky; expect to pay a meter or parking garage/lot fee (be aware - some are way higher than others per hour, especially if you don't plan on staying long).

A great place to cool down from the summer heat of Charleston. Whether you dip your feet in or not, kids will enjoy splashing around in the water (just note, according to the sign there is "No lifeguard on duty." ;-). The riverfront park is a nice easy stroll and you can walk down to the docks easily too. If you're visiting Charleston, be sure to stop at this iconic fountain and snap a few photos.

I recommend going in the morning. A lot of people during the day but a pretty place to visit while you’re in Charleston. There are benches in the shade nearby if it’s too hot. Great place.

A great place to take photos. You can also have the kids play around and in it. It's a beautiful place. The park has wonderful views of all the sail boats. And also you can see Fort Sumter from there too. Had a blast there. Will definitely be back to this park. Can't wait 😁.

I love this place!!! There is something for everyone. There are waterfront swings, tables, chairs, and other seating options. You can walk on the pier, take a boat ride, the floating tiki hut, jet skis, dinner cruises, etc. There is also a waterpark for parents with kids.

In all honesty, the pineapple fountain is the most overhyped and underwhelming attraction of Charleston city. If you TRUELY want to enjoy Charleston, TAKE A WALK!! Follow these directions - 1. Park your car at the public parking near the Old exchange and Provost dungeon. 2. Once parked, start walking onto broad street. Super nice area. 3. Wander off into small alley streets left or right of broad street into the surrounding neighbourhoods. The nicer ones are easier to spot because a lot of people are walking into them. 4. Alternatively, follow the carriage tours. You will easily spot them close to broad street, and all they do is essentially take you down those beautiful neighbourhoods next to broad street. They are super slow so you can easily trail behind them. 5. You can explore the whole downtown/old town area in about 1hr 30 min by foot and the parking would cost you roughly 3 dollars (1$ every 30min.) Plenty of nice restos/art galleries in that area too if you are interested. Added some extra pics after my fountain photo so that you know what I am talking about. Thank me later 😉

Pineapple Fountain is a must stop when you are visiting Charleston! The entire Waterfront Park is a beautiful place to walk through. It is conveniently located right off of King Street. Take a few moments, slip off your shoes, and wade in the water. It is perfect for kids and for people of all ages!

The Pineapple Fountain is a must see for anyone coming to Charleston. The fountain represents restoration and hope. After Hurricane Hugo hit, the fountain was opened to the public to show everyone that the Waterfront Park wasn’t going anywhere despite the natural disaster. I think seeing it at night is a little more dazzling because you’ll see it all lit up. It can get very crowded during the day but you also wade in the water on a nice day.

Beautiful! The surrounding waterway and walk are fun to explore. We visited in January and the weather was perfect, 75F and misty. The public areas in Charleston are kept clean and an army of arborists keep everything green in order.

Nice fountain on the waterfront surrounded by benches and lots of shade. Nice place for a picnic or just to relax and let kids play in the water. (Several fountains in the area allow wading in the water)

A gorgeous Charleston landmark. Was super sweet to see some kids playing in the fountain and just a beautiful view. We walked all along the waterfront to see many sights including this one.

Very awesome! It was fun to see! Not a super important highlight of your trip, but if you can and have time, go ahead and check it out. There’s a great breeze from the ocean and the water is cool.

Beautiful fountain located in the Charleston Waterfront Park. It's such a peaceful place to enjoy the beautiful weather, dip your feet in the water and take some photos.

A Sweet Stop in Charleston: The Pineapple Fountain The Pineapple Fountain is a must-see for any visitor to Charleston, SC. This iconic landmark is located in the heart of the city, and it's hard to miss its towering pineapple sculpture. The fountain was built in 1827, and it's been a popular spot for locals and tourists alike ever since. The Pineapple Fountain is made of white marble, and it stands over 20 feet tall. The pineapple sculpture is topped with a crown, and it's surrounded by a pool of water. The fountain is a popular spot for people-watching, and it's also a great place to take photos. If you're looking for a sweet stop in Charleston, SC, be sure to visit the Pineapple Fountain. It's a beautiful landmark that's worth seeing. #charleston #charlestonsc #charlestontravel #charlestontourism #charlestonattractions #charlestonfountain #pineapplefountain #southcarolina #southcarolinatravel #southcarolinatourism #visitcharleston #visitcharlestonsc

Pineapple Fountain is really pretty and unique, but sadly due to time of year (Nov), it wasn’t turned on. Lovely park area to walk around right on the coast and take lovey photos of the palmetto trees at sunset. Would be great to eat a picnic there.

The park where the fountain is at is nice to take a stroll and relax after your lunch or dinner. The fountain is nice but don’t expect to take a photo without someone in it. Kids love to play in it and everyone who visits wants the same photo you do.
