My first time trying African food was here in North Carolina. I got the fufu and okra soup. It was spicy, but delicious! The young lady that was working the counter, needs training on customer service. The guy had to keep coming from the back( which i was told is the owners son) was super sweet and polite. But the girl, I was ready to jump behind the counter and tell her to get out and let me do it. She doesn't greet anyone when they walk in, and she kept rolling her eyes whenever the people in the back was talking to her. Definitely want to try other foods from them, but I will definitely request for someone else to serve me.

Delicious! The plantain was tender and sweet but not too sweet. They were generous with the beans. Will definitely revisit when I'm in Charlotte but this time I'll be prepared because there's NO dine in. On Google it says there's dine in, but that's inaccurate. When you get to the door, there's no dine in and there's clear instructions on how to pre-order your food.

This place was recommended by my brother who is a truck driver and it did not disappoint. On a recent visit to NC, my family and I enjoyed our take out meal from here. We ordered Banku and Fish, Banku & Okra , Fufu and soup. Everything was delicious. Soup was a little small for the size of fufu provided but very tasty. My favorite was the Fufu and soup

Baby!!! Y'all Betta get down here and get some of this egusi stew over this rice. I just ordered it. I'm in my car eating it RIT NIE. Y'all. This food is good. A lil spicy but it's not over bearing. Very friendly staff. They didn't make me feel stupid when I didn't know what to order nor did I read the menu right. There's a gorgeous lady in the kitchen not sure if she cooked this or not. But baby I'm going back! Very good portions for the price. And this beef is as tender as it wonna be. Smh. All these years I rode past this establishment and never stopped. I'll slap my own face. Go get you some y'all. Trust me

Loved this restaurant, its take out only but the food is absolutely delicious, think I'll be going there for some lunch tomorrow 😋 The owner is a beautiful woman named Gifty. She has an excellent reputation and personality and is so sweet. The portions are hugh, its African food, and if you've never tried it, stop in and ask her to recommend something. Oh please get those plantains, they're so yummy.

I’ve never had African food before and wanted to try it. I got the waakye. It was smoky and a little spicy.

It was my first time there and first time eating Ghanaian food. The guys working the counter were helpful very sweet, and patient. I'm Puerto Rican and eating this food reminded me of some of the foods we eat ( which btw are AFRICAN ROOTS- DUHHH LOL) . I felt a deep connection to those roots eating the food. I came all the way from Indian Land to try the food and I WILL BE BACK AGAIN. ❤️❤️❤️👌👌👌

The guy behind the counter was very nice and helpful. Lady cooking the food was definitely throwing down back there. Food came out super fast. Great portions! Okra soup was 🔥. Plantains were on point. Had 3 different dishes and they were all delicious. Got some heat so be prepared for a flavorful kick

As soon as I saw this place from the outside, I knew the food was going to be legit. It's take-out ONLY but that parking lot stays BUSY. We had Waakye and Red Red with chicken, and we ate on those plantains all the way back home to Virginia. Some of the most wonderful spicy food I've had in my life. I want to say a special Thank You for the employees who chatted with us and helped educate us on these dishes, as well as coming out to let us know everything was ready. We'll be back, and this time we'll call the fufu in nice and early!

The Best African Food in the Carolinas! We've eaten here on several occasions: being in the area, hungry, just because we took a breath! Uhm! One thing about them is they are consistent!!!!! So many places have fallen off since covid & they some how mastered it! Everything We've tried we liked it!

Arrived @12pm to grab a plate of beef with rice and plantains. The flavor was there but I got a BUNCH of rice and majority was scorched and only two pieces of beef which one was over cooked.

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
