Loved Dish in Charlotte NC. Had a really great vibe and atmosphere! They have drink specials daily and a fantastic menu. We shared the sampler plate with deviled eggs, potato puffs, fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese with ritz crackers and homemade potato chips! Everything was delicious. We also had the meatloaf sandwich, the chicken fried steak and the shrimp and grits. Everything was phenomenal but the shrimp and grits were by far the best we’ve had in Charlotte. Will def go back! And a shout out to our server Lee, he was super friendly and quick!!!

They used to be very good, but I guess the fame and popularity made them complacent. Since then their food quality has decreased drastically and their prices have increased significantly!! Their parking is very messy and it’s extremely hot inside the restaurant. The servers are friendly especially Christina. The biscuits they serve with the meals are probably the hardest, driest and tasteless biscuits in all of North Carolina!

Food was really good, but only issue I had was that I asked for cheese in my eggs and they forgot so the waitress took it back, I was thinking they would make me a fresh batch. But nope just slapped some cold cheese on top and brought back out to me. Thankfully the eggs were hot so least it’s melted once I mixed it up some. Wait staff was very friendly. Sweet tea was the perfect example of how a southern staple should be. The fried chicken thigh was juicy and cooked just right. I would go back.

As much as I dislike to give a local business a less than favorable review, specifically a restaurant, I have to. I have had not so good experiences in the past but even so, 99.9 of my reviews are 5 stars - with a comment (if anything wasn't good). We were looking forward to visit Dish for some time before they closed. Unfortunately the food today fell WAY short. And short on the very basics: the mashed potatoes, the mac and cheese and biscuits, definitely were not fresh. Good flavor on the country fried steak and OK meat loaf but the rest was not good at all. Good service.

I got the country fried steak, with mashed potatoes, deviled egg and mac n cheese as well as chocolate pecan pie for carryout. The steak and potatoes were amazing. Thebsteak was crispy, well cooked, and flavorful. The mashed potatoes had a bit of the skin in and went great with the steak. So good! The biscuit was nice and fluffy, I just wish they gave me some honey or jam to eat with it. I also wasn't crazy about the pie, deviled egg and mac n cheese. They weren't bad, I've just had better. But this place was really good and I'd definitely return to try other things on the menu.

Dish is Charlotte’s hidden gem! FANTASTIC comfort food served by a great staff! The shallot dressing and curry turmeric hot sauce are homemade and so uniquely delicious. Great country fried steak and delicious mashed potatoes! Our waiter, Maxwell, was so helpful and friendly! 10/10 a must-try!

We had dinner at Dish tonight. The chicken and dumplings were delicious. One of my friends had the salmon and said it was moist and had good flavor. The service was quick and to the point. The ambiance of the restaurant made it feel like we were in a 70’s diner. I thoroughly enjoyed this place.

One of the better places for brunch in Charlotte. We arrived at 10am, and it was amazing there was no line or reservations required! The place exudes a down home southern style, and is beautifully simple and unassuming. But the food here is quite the opposite, so tasty and full of flavor! I ordered the tomato biscuit casserole, and an egg + cheese croissant sandwich. The casserole was something new, I've never had anything like it, but I would definitely get it again. The combination of tomato, onion, celery and crumbled biscuit was delightful. It is small though, so you'll want to get something to accompany. The croissant sandwich was perfectly flakey, and the scrambled eggs fresh and flavorful as well. The cherry on top was superb service from Jenny, who found her calling as a server, and was fun, friendly and a joy to be around. Next time you're looking for a good brunch, definitely give Dish a try.

This longstanding Central Ave. establishment has stayed a consistent favorite since we first tried it years ago! The menu is a fresh take on Southern comfort food. If you like deviled eggs, nearly every dish comes with one! Thanks to Covid, we discovered there's a really spacious patio in back that's perfect for a sunny brunch. Actually, they seem to serve brunch every day! The Down South Benedict comes with 2 thick slices of pork belly, and the veggie cajun lentil loaf is filling with a little spicy kick! Their service and prices are unbeatable too. When I commented that the cauliflower mash was good but a little salty, our server cheerfully said he'd pass that along. Overall, highly recommend!

My first meal was amazing. The freshness of the ingredients could be tasted with each and every bite. The second time around I tried the Cajun Meat Loaf over Mashed Potatoes with a side Salad. The meatloaf was equally as good as expected, the consistency of the mashed potatoes added that extra touch of goodness and made the gravy more delicious. The salad had crisp fresh tomatoes and crisp fresh onions and the spinach was divine. The homemade Cheese cake with it's unique crust is indescribable. One word sums up my experience. DISH.

We found this place when looking for breakfast. Most places had lines so we landed here. This place is a hidden gem for affordable and good. If you want just a good quality soulful southern breakfast this is the spot. It’s eclectic much like the staff. Our host was welcoming and our waitress was very attentive and nice. The service from start to finish was fast. They had so much more to offer that I would have loved, but breakfast was the aim. The main thing I appreciated was the price. You can get so much for under $10! I had the southern breakfast which was choice of meat (I chose livermush), grits, hash brown casserole, biscuit and gravy, egg your way (sunny side up for me), and coffee. My fiancé had the breakfast bowl which was eggs (your way), choice of meat (bacon), grits, cheese, and a biscuit. Bacon looked perfect! He had coffee as well. $25! They also had alcohol 🍺

Floored! My first time having chicken and dumplings, it was heavy but so so delicious. My husband got the country fried steak and we both shared a slice of banana cream pie afterwards. Couldn’t recommend this place enough - the servers were so kind and lovely. Also, I loved the deviled egg and biscuit we each got with our dishes.

This was one of the best and most creative restaurants I have eaten at in Charlotte. The Manager gave great service and the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly - it felt like a neighborhood place. I had the Frittata which was an egg custard with greens and goat cheese and beets. Most unusual. I Everything there looked very good and fresh. I will be back!

This was our first time at Dish and the service was great! I got the biscuits & gravy with eggs and hash casserole & my wife got the breakfast bowl. The biscuits & gravy was great! And the price wasn't too bad.

After reading a few negative reviews I had to go see for myself. We had an ideal meal at the alway classic Dish! Service is friendly, food is fresh. I had the vegetarian lentil burger and husband had the country fried steak. We ate every bit! My side of collard greens was delicious! I’ll be back for more This cafe has been a staple in Plaza Mid-wood and I’m glad to see it’s still serving up good food in a great atmosphere. Don’t miss out on the chocolate chip pecan pie! We fought over the last bite.

Upon entering the diner, the hostess was very nice, sat us at our table. Our waitress wasn’t as friendly but polite and attentive for the most part. Food was not good as other reviewers mentioned, we ordered the chicken and dumplings (funk it up) and Salmom patties (funk it up). My girlfriend didn’t enjoy her food the dumplings, it had an after taste which was unpleasant and I had the salmon patties it was pretty good. The sides dishes were average, we will not be revisiting unfortunately. Good parking options. Clean silverware. Our seating area had flies on the window 😳

👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
