I
am
currently
writing
this
from
the
comfort
of
my
Marriott
hotel
room.
Tonight,
I
arrived
at
The
Homewood
Suites
by
Hilton
Charlotte/Southpark
after
a
business
dinner
only
to
be
told
there
is
no
room
available
for
me.
I
booked
my
reservation
a
week
prior
directly
through
the
hotel
website
and
have
a
conformation
email
and
number.
I
am
also
Hilton
honors
Gold
member
and
was
surprised
when
I
was
told
there
was
no
room
for
me
to
stay
in.
The
front
desk
attendant
reccomended
I
stay
at
their
overflow
hotel
The
Double
Tree
only
to
come
back
and
say
they
are
also
overbooked
and
there
are
no
rooms
available
there.
I
asked
to
speak
with
a
manager
and
the
front
desk
brought
out
the
food
and
beverage
manager
to
speak
with
me.
As
she
came
out,
two
men
checked
into
the
Hilton
side
of
the
hotel
and
received
room
keys…but
there
wasn’t
a
room
for
me?
How?
Is
this
even
real
life?
She
told
me
there
was
nothing
they
could
do
and
that
this
was
an
unfortunate
event.
So
here
I
am,
by
myself
in
a
city
I’m
unfamiliar
with
at
8pm
with
no
where
to
stay…I
looked
up
the
Marriott
and
they
had
a
room
available.
Of
course
I
immediately
booked
it.
As
I
am
walking
out
the
door,
the
food
and
beverage
manager
comes
to
tell
me
that
now
all
of
the
sudden
they
have
a
room
available
for
me?
How
is
this
possible
if
they
told
me
they
didn’t
before?
I
travel
to
Charlotte
for
business
often
and
chose
to
stay
at
the
Hilton
in
Southpark
Charlotte
since
this
location
is
where
we
have
all
of
our
clients
stay
when
they
visit.
I’ve
personally
stayed
at
this
location
twice
in
the
past
and
it
has
gone
downhill.
As
a
national
organization
with
a
lot
of
travel
to
the
Charlotte
market,
I
can
assure
you
we
will
not
be
sending
clients
to
stay
at
this
hotel
again.
I’m
glad
this
situation
was
just
isolated
to
me
and
not
our
clients.
