One of the best bars in all of Charlotte. Comet has really good bar food, and if you’re a fan of burgers, be sure to try The All American. Also, the veggie chili is better than the regular chili. The fries are awesome. If you’re looking for a laundry list of overpriced IPAs, Comet is not for you. Instead, pull up to the bar and grab a PBR or a Miller Lite. At the end of the day, that’s all you need. Enjoy the patio outside on nice days!

Food is amazing, bartenders are great. The owner was very rude and disrespectful, he completely ruined my lunch I was having by his attitude and the way he talked to me. I feel like if you own a restaurant you would have more manners instead of being a mean drunk at 3 in the afternoon.

Was in the mood for a burger, read the reviews and decided to check on them. Ordered a drink, and the comet classic, the cook came in without washing his hands. Put a burger on the hot plate, went to what looks like a storage grab a bun with his bare hands. No gloves, No masks, and they’re talking over the food. Bad service. Burger tasted ok, not made of fresh ingredients. Go somewhere else! Don’t waste your time or money.

Great local bar with bar food better than most. Burgers are great! I like the plain one but others in my group like the others with added stuff. Salads are basic lettuce but good size and if you add the grilled chicken it is great. Soups and chilli good and made fresh every day. Great bet selection.

Would not recommend. Horrible! Went for lunch and the place was empty. A few others arrived after us and I watched others receiving food but took 45 minutes for us to receive our food. Reason was because the food literally sat for 15 minutes and was not brought to us. I could see it sitting there. The bartender kept our drinks full but not sure why the food just sat. Well, fries were burnt, cold, over salted, dripping in oil and grease was old. Asked for burger med rare and it was well done and cold. How do you even send out food like that. When the guy finally came around I told him the issue and he just took away my plate with no offer to replace it. He took it off the bill and apologized at the end but I left hungry after a few bites of nasty fries. Avoid!!!

Stumbled upon this bar and grill as I went to Food Lion during my lunch break and decided a burger and fries is what I wanted for lunch. It is right in the same parking center as a food lion, so there are plenty of parking spots to choose from. The inside is fairly small, but with bar seating and outside seating as well. Went around lunchtime, and it was fairly busy. I placed my Togo order and decided to head to Food Lion to get my shopping done. I will say it did take about 30 or so minutes to get the food, which was a lot but wasn't such a big deal for me. I got the Comet grill burger, which came with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and pimento cheese. Let's just say it was delicious! The burger itself was just exactly what I wanted. Now I will say that it did get a bit soggy just from the drive there back to my job. Mainly, it was the tomatoes at the bottom that made the bread soggy, so it was a bit messy, but it was delicious, so I did not mind at all. The fries were delicious as well. They had the right amount of crisp to them and were hot and not soggy, thankfully. I would defeintly come back as I wanted to try their wings out.

Best buffalo shrimp in Charlotte! Add this to the fact that the burgers are fantastic (hand patted, JUICY and cooked to order) and the fries sublime (hand cut, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside) means this is an outstanding place to grab a bit to eat. Great selection of beer on tap too....

Great burgers! According to their website, they have the best burgers in Charlotte. Their wings are really good too! I took my friend Kevin here who was visiting from Arlington, VA, we both enjoyed it!

Love this cozy spot. Food is excellent, service is too. And there's often great live music. Definitely an easy-going, casual bar vibe going on here, so it's not fancy, but not a dive either.

Lived around the corner from this place for 6 years. Consistently clean, nice, fun atmosphere. It’s a small space with second floor balcony seating that overlooks the bar. Food is always on point, ALWAYS. Good old fashion American bar food like wings, burgers, nachos and a few twists on some classics. I personally love their burgers and Philly cheese steak. They have a lovely little enclosed side patio with heaters and umbrellas and TVs to watch sports. Dogs are welcome on patio and the staff and regulars were always so sweet and happy to see my senior pup. Live, local music on some evenings. This is a hidden gem in Charlotte. If you’re looking for a little hideaway for a bite and a drink this is a great place to slip away from work on your lunch break, or to get some calm from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city.

This hidden gem has the best burgers in Charlotte. I get the All American burger and my wife gets the Smokehouse. The burgers come with hand cut fries. The prices are fair and the staff are always super friendly. Thank goodness I don't have to go far for pickup but I would if I had to!

Burger: 8/10 Fries: 5/10 Service: 1/10 They don’t seem to like giving good service to anyone who doesn’t sit at the bar. Server/bartender didn’t say anything to us the entire visit besides “how do you want your burger cooked?” which they still came out over cooked. Burgers were solid despite that, but everything else about our visit was awful. I don’t know how this place has such good ratings when good service and just as good burgers are right around the corner.

Great service in a cool little bar in a strip mall. Fries were fantastic and burgers were good. Beer was cold and fresh.

The owner was really nice. Wish her the best with the new ownership. Nice chill place for drinks. Plenty of parking. Kitchen available. I had a decent time.

Overall, I enjoyed my meal and appreciated the kind, “southern-hospitality” service. Fries were cut fresh and by hand. A bit soggy so I’d likely get chips if I came back. Was charged $1 for a “typical” side of BBQ sauce (for the fries). With the drink, meal came out to be ~$20 (including 18% tip).

A bit smaller than I expected, but a cute place with a homey feeling. The burgers were incredible!

Late valentine's day date. We get burgers at a different place every year since 2016. The Comet Grill did not disappoint. Had local Mom & Pop /dive bar vibes, seemed like everyone there knew each other. We started with a few local brews and the fried pickles. They were lightly breaded and cooked perfectly, the serving size was huge, we took at least half to go. I got the Biggz burger. Suz got the Comet classic. Both were pwrfectly cooked to order. Rory loved the fries. Rory was extra low and talkative, everyone was very amused with him, which was nice. We'll definitely be back.

Overpriced, burnt, inedible food. My husband ordered a Buffalo chicken sandwich and it came out black and burnt. It wasn’t worth eating and definitely wasn’t worth what was paid for it.

My friend and I had lunch here and we were treated to a really good plate of fish and chips and a wonderful Cobb salad. The draft beer was very good and the atmosphere was quiet pleasant. Thanks Comet Grill for a really enjoyable lunch.

This place has great character. I was recently introduced to Comet Grill by a friend after I commented that "Charlotte has no soul". Clearly, I need to re-evaluate my position. I was thrilled to find such an awesome establishment.

I've been here a few times. Drinks always on time and the burgers are really good. The atmosphere is amazing, this is the equivalent of a 3 star Michelin dive bar. It's that good!

Comet grill is the place you wished you knew about way before you discover it. Great food. The staff is very much a part of the 5 star rating experience. Come in grab a menu relax and find the flow....the food is great prices fair and the regular make you feel welcome and at home. Take out orders flow and the patio is a little oaisis.

👍👍 It was delicious, exceptional drinks, I expected a heated space, as it was cold. I definitely recommend wearing more then 2 layers in the Winter. 👍👍 Skeptical. I visited this place because of a research on brunch places in downtown. Ended here because of the Google rating. Almost Worth it! The Italian sausage hash was really good. But my spouse ordered an avocado toast and it lacked flavor. Also, the coffee was legit; really good! Also ordere...
