Let me begin by saying that my husband grew up with an Indian family and he not only got to eat authentic homemade dinners, he watched the patriarch of the family cooking the meals from scratch. He got me hooked on Indian food and no matter where we go we always compare with restaurants we’ve eaten at before. We are very thankful to our son for recommending this place. It is a MUST when in Clarksville Tn. I love the decoré and they offer 3 seating options. Table, booth, or traditional Indian table with pillows. Now for the meal. The sauces were all thick and buttery not runny. The lamb was very tender and the okra and eggplant were cooked just right. The chicken however tasted like it was just added to the sauce as opposed to being marinated in it. But we are giving them 4🌟 for service, ambiance, cleanliness, and overall experience Be ready to pay. We are considering them a bit pricey compared to similar restaurants we have frequented before.

This is what a $18 dish look like before tax/tip (not including a 18% automatic gratuity and a $2 tip written in making my total $24). The waitresses kindness threw me off, I assume she is well aware that the tip is built into the total on the receipt. I simply feel ripped off. Perhaps the gratuity should be made more noticeable on the credit card merchant copy of the receipt. …not to mention the portion size was small, the food was warm, and it took a long time to prepare. No to go utensils, napkins or a receipt of sale. I felt the entire experience unwelcoming and bad business practice. As a customer I feel a bit scammed.

The food was good, the server was very helpful. You can seat a regular table or booth. Or you can choose a traditional seat, where you sit on a carpet with a low height table with cushions around. Definitely a great Indian restaurant to dine in or take out.

Great food, authentic and fresh. Service was very friendly but could use some more staffing.

Was my first time dining at Tandoor Indian Bistro. My friend took me out for some food and we decided on Tandoor. Arwa was an excellent server. We never had to ask her to top off our beverages. She checked on us frequently but never hovered. We had the crab cakes and samosas with chutney for an appetizer. We chose the Saag with goat and the Chicken Vindaloo (sp?) for our entrees. On the side we had some butter and garlic cheese naan. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. Will definitely be returning! 😊😊😊 Also ordered some food to go since it was that delicious.

We ordered two dishes and we arrived there by 5:15pm. We got our food and drinks refilled by 6:30pm. Nobody came yo us to tell us that they were short handed or nothing about the long wait and nobody asked us of we wanted a beverage refill during that hour. Lack of consideration. We won't be back. The flavor of the food was okay. If you are looking for hat sweet flavor of the Tikka masala this isn't. The hummus was great.

By far, the best mint chutney I have ever had. Typically, I push it to the side immediately. But the waitress said the chef makes his own from scratch. Perfection. The entree was delicious. We ordered medium since we have not eaten here before. Normally, our spice is at a 7 or 8. We asked for more spice, and they delivered! Goose bumps and a little forehead sweat. Awesome service and atmosphere. Excited to come back and try the buffet on Sundays. Daughter said they have the nicest bathrooms she has ever been in!

Great environment to enjoy a nice dinner traditional style! Lol I tried the Vindaloo entree and it was delicious! The naan bread is a must! I’ll definitely be back to try more! The Kulfi is very delicious, great dessert! Thank you!!

My husband and I had a great experience overall at this restaurant. We had dinner here on a busy Saturday night and we believe there were only 2 waitresses working the entire restaurant. Despite this, our waitress did a great job and our food was phenomenal. Seriously some of the best samosas, naan, and chicken tikka masala I’ve had in my life. As for the people complaining about prices/sizes of entrees in the other reviews - The prices are fair for such high quality, authentic, Indian cuisine, and the portions are large enough you can absolutely make 2 meals out of one entrée.

The crabcakes and chicken samosas are wonderful. Not to mention, it's the best mango lassi I have ever tried!!

Name Indian restaurant but served American style food. Chicken curry tastes like baked chicken with marinara sauce. Chicken 65 taste like bowl chicken with BBQ sauce. Too expensive for this type of taste.

I had the chicken curry at the medium spicy level. It was a little too spicy for me, bit that's on me as I have noticed my tolerance for spicy food waning as I age. Great service and atmosphere. Traditional seating available.

Amazing food, easily the best in Clarksville, I'm amazed each time. The staff are very nice, service is a bit slow but that is just a part of it, and it's not a problem at all. Expect to be here for about an hour and a half if you're getting appetizers and entrees. Atmosphere is amazing, they do take out but I love the atmosphere. Good vegetarian and vegan options. I always get more food than I can physically eat, well worth the money!

We ordered the Lamb Rohan Josh. The flavor and texture was perfect. There were 3 thick cuts of lamb chops in a lot of spicy sauce with a side of basmati rice. We got it to go. For the price it should have come with naan or some side. It was very good though

Always amazing food and good service. The chicken tikka masala always has flavorful sauce and moist chicken. The garlic herb cheese stuffed non bread is the best of the best. We've tried a good variety of stuff here and really like the Sunday lunch buffet because you can sample a few different things without feeling like you have to order everything on the menu the first time. The pekoras are good and the chicken 65 is delicious. The side salad is fairly large and has a very good poppy seed dressing. You really can't go wrong here unless it's with a family of loud children playing on tablets. That has happened occasionally but that's not too blame the restaurant for. That is for the bad parenting. You can sit in the traditional seats, booths, or tables. Overall you really can't go wrong here.

I was a little hesitant to go because there were a mix of reviews but it was the only place in town so we tried it. When we first walked in, the entryway was a little crowded between people picking up orders and waiting to be seated. We were not acknowledged for at least 7-10 minutes even after all the to go's and others had been seated. This was the only negative thing about my experience. The food was delicious and the portions were adequate. I do think it was a little higher priced than the usual Indian restaurants I regularly visit. There are tables, booths, and then there are sitting areas where the tables are low and you sit on pillows instead of chairs and have a beaded "doorway". I had Madras and my daughter had Pasandra. We both enjoyed our dishes. Oh! And the cheese stuffed naan...you need to try this! I tried the mint Lassi for the first time and was not very excited by it. It was definitely not sweet like a mango Lassi but it was tolerable. Overall I think this is a nice place to eat and I would visit again.

The food was delicious, very flavorful and a good sized portion for what I expect to stuff during a meal at the restaurant. For those who want to-go boxes, just order the whole meal as take out. And for those who don’t want to pay gratuity, just save up for an authentic experience. However, Cookout is down the street and Culver’s is across the way so they won’t ask you for a tip if you go there. I would recommend Tandoor as a special occasion dinner experience, I’ve been 4 times in the past 2 years and always with my husband for a date. It’s quiet and delicious and different. I like it.

Restaurant was great.. traditional seating available. Service was over the top (thanks Abigail) and portions were huge. The food could have been hotter.. the Tikka masala came out quick but it wasn't as hot as I expected, this made it seem unfresh. This was not a bad experience and I will be back next time I'm in the area.

Great Indian food! I noticed other reviews complaining about prices. It is a bit on the pricier side, but isn’t unreasonable, and you will probably pay the same or more for worse quality food at a lot of chain places along Wilma (the road it’s right off of). This place has a nice atmosphere and the traditional tables are cool. Morgan Freeman ate here a few years ago, which is neat, I noticed an article about it on the wall and looked it up afterwards. They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. I’m not either one but a waitress recommended a vegetarian dish the first time we came and I loved it and have been getting it since. I know from a few vegetarian friends that a lot of vegetarian dishes at restaurants are kind of an afterthought but it’s not like that here, the fried eggplant dish I get holds up to the different curries my husband has tried. We’ve been here 3-4 times and the food is always good.

Tried the buffet for the first time today. You know it is gonna be good when there is a crowd waiting at the door for Open. Very good spices, naan made in house (it seems), bone left in so the meat isn't dry. Atmosphere is nice, and the tunes were awesome. Happy a place like this exists!

4 of us ordered the tikka Marsala. The chicken was fatty and not all white meat. The mild was not given they brought out all medium and one hot. When asked to change it they wanted to charge us again for the sauce. When the server was asked for fresh rice seems we had to wait another 15 mins for the new one she said that was an additional charge. We would not return to this place.

Very delicious food, we ordered curry, tikka masala, vindaloo but my favorite was the madras.

The experience at Tandoor was excellent. 👌🏽 They have traditional Indian style seating and regular seating available. They also have a wide array of vegetarian/vegan options. Our server for the night was also great (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) as she provided top-notch customer service. The food was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Nice interior. But I can’t forget Indian food that I ate in Japan. It was really great, so I gave 3 star. And price was kind of pricy.
