If you like vintage feeling and want a quite place for your stay in the midst of crowded city, then this is the place to go for stay and is located near to the famous Marina Beach. This place is one of its kind, at first look you can't comprehend that it's a hotel, as it will seem like very simple building which is originally a girls hostel for foreign nationals. It's architecture is of 70's and 80' era. Rooms have wooden finishing and give old style luxury feeling. The main entrance has a wooden door with beautifully carved art design. The attached Durga Restaurant serves good quality food too.

Rooms r good, location wise easily accessible to many a places. But the service is poor. For the fare they charge, they don't even keep some complimentary tea, coffee packets in the room. The morning room service of coffee or tea starts at 7 a.m. If u r an early riser then u hv to step out of the room to go to the restaurant to hv a cup of tea. The mini fridge totally empty. I don't understand the purpose of keeping it in the room. V expect some snacks, biscuits, soft drinks etc for which they can charge us if used. When I gave the suggestion they were not even ready to consider that. 0 hospitality.

This hotel is located at the city centre of Chennai which makes easy to travel to every corner of the city. Hotel staff is well behaved and friendly. Breakfast was excellent with buffet options. Room was clean. Bedsheet and pillow was well washed. Water was clean. Overall a best place to stay.

Lovely, helpful staff, clean & tidy rooms, great buffet breakfast, swimming pool. Only thing missing is ceiling fans in the outdoor seating area.

They gave me room for my family when Chennai was badly hit by rain & floods this month (Dec 2023). My mother was sick & admitted in BSS Hospital and we had to stay nearby. Thanks to the General Manager. He was kind enough to somehow accommodate us. He was certainly service minded. I was so busy I couldn't even ask for his good name! The F&B team in the restaurant were really kind. The location is perfect. This hotel has lots of trees & hence, the entire place is cool.

Had a super long term stay. Perfect location for my trip studying at Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. The staff was superb and helpful in every way, the room was clean, the friendly driver available for day trips…it was everything I could ask for during my nearly month stay. The rates were affordable and I felt cared for. The restaurant is great (especially breakfast). Even though the neighborhood is very busy, the room was quiet and the bed comfortable. The hotel was accommodating, allowing me to store luggage while I took a beach vacation before returning to Chennai. I will definitely stay here again on my return to Chennai.

We stayed at Hotel for 15 days. Location is great as it is very convenient to reach. Beach is just 10 minutes drive. Reception and Restaurant Staff were very polite and courteous and attended to our request within minutes . We had requested for packed breakfast since we had to leave early on a trip. They provided packed Sandwich and South Indian as we requested and tasted really awesome. Restaurant offers buffet breakfast with varieties of south Indian Food especially tea and coffee are above standard. Definitely worth for the price and highly recommend.

We booked 2 business room through Agoda, but during check-in they allocated standard room only; once we inquired then the reply was there no difference in room types, and all are standard room which is deviating from Agoda Booking Portal about the room and prices. Agoda shall look into this matter to avoid any issues. Otherwise remaining everything is okay and happy like location, cleanliness, room service, front desk and complimentary breakfast. We had dinner at their restaurant which is very good.

I had planned a swimming pool party for my 10 YO daughter here with a few of her friends. The hotel management helped with the minor arrangements in having the pool and food for the guests at their restaurant. It was a good experience for us. Highly recommend - specially in view of customer service and satisfaction.

I stayed for one night before flying from chennai and had a great experience. Rooms very very clean and tidy. Nice decor. Room service good. One amazing story of customer service, while I was out I stood in dog poop and needed to clean before entering the hotel late in the night. One of the attendants from behind reception came and showed where it can be washed and then went ahead and cleaned it for me with such a care for the customers experience. Wouldn't take any money either Cannot highly recommend this hotel more. Thank you 🙏

During our recent trip from Bangalore, we decided to stay at this particular location for two nights. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The price for a standard room was quite high, and the room itself was disappointingly small. We were hoping for a more luxurious experience for the price we paid. To make matters worse, the front desk attendant during the day shift was unhelpful and downright rude. It was clear that he had no interest in providing quality customer service. While the amenities advertised a swimming pool, it was frustrating to learn that it was only available for private coaching sessions. As a result, we were unable to enjoy the pool during our stay. Despite these disappointments, we did find one redeeming quality in the breakfast. It was quite good and provided a much-needed boost to our mornings. Overall, we were disappointed with our stay at this location and would not recommend it to others.

We had a birthday party and it was so awesome and well organised. The hospitality was too good. The food was delicious and served well. All our guest were happy on the occasion. The rooms were also so neatly maintained. The complete hotel ambience was really a place to relax yourself...... We thank all your staff for their sincere work and great support.

The hotel is a great place to stay at a very good price. Staff are courteous and caring, and the food is excellent. They even have cab services which we can avail for convenience whose drives are professional and know all the places in the city.

I stayed here for 4 nights and had a great stay. The rooms are spacious. They provide with a cupboard, a fridge,tv, tea table, chair and bed with lamps on both sides. The service was great. I really liked the location. You can just walk for 5 mins and you will enter the market area. 2km away from alwarpet area.

Very good location. Attended function Air Conditioning was good. Only Wash Basin are not convenient to wash hands. Water may be kept in the hall at easy identification location

Very good experience for 6 days. Food is good. Breakfast complimentary. Swimming pool is clean. Staff is polite and helpful. Quick same day laundry. If you are using public transport, then this will not be a good option as area is but away from mainstream. Only 1 bus line. Otherwise a pleasant experience.

I had visited Raj Palace Sundar for an association AG meeting, hence no question of providing any feedback on the rooms. Location is excellent even though the car parking space is limited and there is no valet parking. Service was decent, nothing extraordinary - the starters (Paneer in veg and Chicken in non-veg) were very good but was hugely disappointed by the dinner - while the menu wasn't great and I wouldn't blame the hotel for that, the taste was really below par. Further, when you are serving fish in dinner you should ensure that it's boneless - in today's day and times when buffet dinners are the norm who has the time to minutely extract bones from fish before eating? This is the first time I saw such a thing

We had booked Raj Palace Sundhar for my brother's wedding reception... I need to confess that I had a wonderful experience....right from the welcome drink.....the buffet..... tasty food....the ambience.....the staff....the service.....everything. The hall was perfectly air conditioned even at his full....overflowing... capacity.

Very good stay for 2 nights. Customer friendly person at the reception and so were the housekeeping and room service personnel. Room was neat and clean on the ground floor, good enough for 2. Restaurant was veg+non-veg. Since we are vegetarians, ordered room service of kal dosa. Good taste. They could reduce the quantity of sambar and chutney. They arranged a cab for us to go outstation at the last minute and also to Central station early in the morning. The driver was also very polite. We were delayed while coming back from the outstation trip. We called them and requested them to keep some food and milk in the room. They did so. The location is next to Andhra mahila sabha. There is metro work going at the roundabout near the hotel. If you are coming from beach road, go round towards rk mutt road and then left on to cp ramasamy road and then come to Greenways road and enter the hotel. Otherwise, you will have to go all the way to the adayar flyover, take a u turn and come back.

First stay in Chennai and had a great experience. Overall, I would rate 10/10. The location, ambience, surroundings, staff, cleanliness, food, etc everything was perfecto. It gives a 4 star luxury and worth every penny.

Marvelous customer support..a separate luggage room is available to keep our luggage..food is extraordinary..in particular dosa served for bbf is topnotch.. service is very very good..since the location of the hotel is in the center of the city, very easy to reach many places in the city circle..

I stayed at the hotel for 45 days. As a foreign national from the drop off at the hotel till i took my leave after 45 days the Hotel and the staff served me very well. I was on business matters. Hotel staff is really good and they will help you with anything. They are very flexible too. My room and bathroom was cleaned everyday, they provided water bottles and changed linens and towels everyday. Breakfast was complimentary. They also have a really good ala cart menu and you can either order room service or can go to the restaurent and order anything you want. Food is good too. I use to order every kind of different item during my stay. Indian or chinese or american everything came out nicely. Compliments to the chef. During my stay i didnot use the pool as it was mostly used for kids and teaching and i also didnot have much time to spend in the pool. Breakfast is served at the restaurent till 10am. you will have varities such as idly,bread and jam, kichdi,poori,pongal, vadai, sambar and chutney along with cereals milk and juices. And you can also order omelettes and dosa over the counter for free. I thought i invented cheese dosa & cheese omelette which was my go to breakfast at the hotel along with other items in the buffet. I will come back for sure. Many thanks for all the support Hotel staff and specially restaurent staff..you guys served me well. Keep up the good work

Hai...I'm surrendra Paul I was staying there with my friend in July, I really liked that hotel, I really liked the food from there, but there is a 14 year old boy working as a housekeeper, I asked the housekeeping manager if the boys were included in work, He said look at the your work, he does not know who I am and the Effect will be known to him

It's a well maintained hotel with clean environment and great ambiance. Especially good for work and study purpose visit. The food is delicious. The staff behaviour is friendly. This is one of the best places to stay in Chennai.

Had been there for a birthday party. The hall could easily fit in 100 members, good A/C, since it was evening the food was served outside, 70% of the food was tasty. The rooms are okay and the swimming pool is right in the middle of rooms, parking, outside food area. Car parking available, entry from two sides.

It's my 4th time at Raj Palace Sundar. The rooms are kept spic and span with clean towels, linen and toiletries and good spead of breakfast server at the restaurant is exceptionally good for the price. Plan your local travel and if you wish to eat outside, cross the bridge for a choice of good restaurants or order online.

Raj Palace Sunder is a nice comforatble hotel centrally located in Chennai. Comfortable rooms which are easy on the budget. Clean sheets and towels and a nice spacious dry bathroom. Check it out for a stay in Chennai.

Amazing Hotel with ample parking. Pretty descent size rooms . Good Restaurant. There are few staff really care about customers with good and pleasant face. To Improve : Some staff need customer care training. Few areas of hotel need maintenance. Bathroom fan need auto close , as mosquitoes are coming in.. Overall Excellent experience for me and my family. Will definitely stay again if I am coming to Chennai…

Hosted my kid's first birthday party here. Should say that we all had a great experience and satisfaction. The event went great because of 3 major things - Food & Ambience, Decoration and Service. Stay was average. At check-in time during evening, ordered a grilled chicken sandwich which they served with raw or uncooked chicken. Was sceptical about having food there after that, but subsequent day breakfast and lunch was ok. The swimming pool facility is literally unusable for hotel guests since most of the time pool is fully occupied with kids swimming classes occuring, not summer classes but ongoing in August when we stayed

The hotel is pretty good. The rooms here are well maintained and are very clean. The room service is also good and punctual. It's actually a good hotel to stay for tourists visiting Chennai.

This place has a hall that accommodate 200 people and it's good for hosting small functions. The hotel also provides with fantastic food options. Their staff are very friendly and they give us good knowledgeable suggestions. The housekeeping staff are really efficient in the rooms, the party hall and also in the restaurant. Their chef takes special care of any special request that we make. The food is prepared fresh with good ingredients and tastes really good. The staff at the hotel are very friendly. The watchman at the gate will hail you an Auto. If I visit Chennai this is my go to place to stay

Excellent in every aspect.. the property is old..when i first entered the hotel in the reception I felt a little weary looking at the old world look of the guest room. But the rooms and other spaces of importance to guests are very well maintained.. rooms were spacious with necessary amenities and are very clean. There's a pool outside, which is a nice photo point too.. they've kept some old trees within the premises which gives it a more complete feeling. The restaurant is amazing place.. feels like a royal heritage space . We had morning breakfast buffet there which was great.. service was excellent . Mr Vijay at the counter is very courteous and welcoming. Definitely recommend this place!
