Great shopping centre with loads of parking, benches to sit on and a good array of shops. Also mobile charging points and electric car charging points. Always clean when walking around

What better way to celebrate a new job, but with a day of retail therapy. New wardrobe and a bite to eat. And where best to do this, but Banbury Gateway Shopping Park right? On arrival, lunch at M&S, and then full on, shop till we drop shopping, finishing off with a celebratory beverage at Costa’s whilst admiring our purchases. We had done well. But our experience was depleted, when a few days later a parking fine arrived for £100! Like most of us who frequent there regularly, I was under the misguided impression that the parking was free. After a deep dive into their website, free parking was confirmed up to four hours. No mention of a fine and no facility to pay on site for extra time. So, if you are wanting a day, even half a day’s retail therapy and you wish to include browsing, trying on items, purchasing, lunch and a coffee break, Banbury Gateway Shopping Park is NOT the place to go, unless you can wrap it all up in under 4 hours.

Love this place. Nice newish food area on the ground floor of the centre, multi-storey car park next door and right on the canal. This area has improved massively over the last few years, looks quite trendy and modern, and the hubby laid the steps and walkway on the other side of the canal. Looks lovely 😍

I have shopped here many times over the years, met family and friends and in all the visits I did not see any signs for parking. I have always thought it was free. I now find it is free for 4 hrs and for the first time I was there longer than 4 hrs. The signs are there but not very apparent as I can see others comments saying they did not see them. The fine is excessive but fairly standard BUT when I went to pay it I discover there is a £1.50 charge for paying online, I do think this is UNREASONABLE as most things are paid online these days with no fee. For postal payments there is a £2.50 administration fee for a reduced fee of £60 (from £100) if received before a given date. The chea[pest way to pay is by phone , 2p per min and provider charge for access to use the 'service' ( I think that is a misuse of the word service). The retail park needs to reconsider using Highview parking to manage the parking as it is a deterrent to using the retail park for those of us with this experience who will not return so it is not a parking deterrent but a shopping deterrent. The scheme in Didcot is fairer, on leaving you enter your reg no and if in free period , no fee but if over you pay the reasonable charge before leaving. Customers are happy they are not being treated unfairly. unlike in Banbury Gateway. Date of experience: March 2023

M&S, Primark, New Look, McDonald’s, Greggs, Next Home, River Island, Sports direct and a few other shops I can’t remember. Lots of parking. I went on a Saturday at prime time so took a minute to find a parking space but not too long. Getting out was a little longer as with most retail parks the exits and entrances are not always well though out. The primark is a good size one.

What can one say about a shopping park! Ok so it's easy to get too; There are ample free car parking spaces. Numerous national chain store type shops a couple of fast food joints and that's about it.. it's like hundreds of such places around the country . It's a place to go when need to shop. It would get an higher star rating. If it had better EV charging spaces.

Nice retail park / mall with a new entertainment section, movies, climbing centre etc and lots of eating options, situated along the canal. Best retail location in the area.

Don't do to shopping parks very often, but this one is easy to get to and has a range of shops, manly cloths based to be honest, nothing very specialist it would be nice to see a larger range of shops; There are free car parking spaces, but at busy times they do get taken up and at peak you many struggle so check the busy times with google. You currently have a Marks and Spencer, Primark, Fat Willies and a few coffee shops and burger bars.. I do find it's fine if looking for clothes but when you fancy a wonder around shops there is not enough choice. It does have EV charging and disabled parking, unfortunately I have seen people parking in these when were not meant to, but that is common practise.

I avoid going here as much as I can. So difficult to park & always seem to queue for ages to get in & out again. Christmas time is a no go for me as just so hectic with the one entrace /exit. Never understood why the did that? come on Banbury think outside of the box & make access easier !!

One of my favourite places to shop with nice good sized stores and a good selection. I wouldn't recommend the M&S cafe though... I've been a few times and they either don't have half the menu or food takes ages to come out.

This is a good out of town shopping area. Some of the shops aren’t very large. Eating here can be hit and miss, there is a cafe in Marks and Spencer’s offering hot/cold food/snacks, a McDonalds and there may be a coffee shop in Next? There is a food section to take away in Marks and Spencer. There is a large car park with disabled parking and parents parking areas but at peak times at all weekends it can be a bit hard to find a place. Who ever designed this complex didn’t design the entrance/exit well and it develops a bottle neck at peak time’s making it very difficult getting access in/out because of the design. It can be so bad that traffic can be queueing 1/4 mile from the roundabout and before that point trying to get in. The traffic coming out of the complex prevents the traffic coming in. It’s not advisable to bring large vehicles in during peak times at the weekend. This isn’t a child friendly environment and I wouldn’t advise bringing children here because there is nothing here to occupy them. In Marks and Spencer they do have baby changing facilities, I don’t think anywhere else does at this shopping park. There are some shops shut. This isn’t a place to bring dogs either. If you have a disability dog, there is a tiny bit of grass next to Marks and Spencer where they can have a wee before going into the shops. There are no dog water bowls or access to water for dogs so please bring water for a disability dog.

There's not enough parking for the volume of people trying to shop. I'd recommend going into the town centre if you can get what you need there.

A great little shopping centre. Just the right size. Easy to park. Always stop here if driving past.

Good for piping into for a coffee and quick bit of shopping while traveling the M40. Loads of parking spaces.

  • 5/5 TM 8 months ago on Google
Great place.. plenty of parking, although limited for mother and baby. There is a next and M&S also Pirmark, all you need for regular shopping

Whilst probably not The Gateways issue, I had to queue more than 45 minutes to get out of the park! Councillors need to really understand what the potential issues could be, especially being sandwiched between a busy motorway junction.

Got a great range of shops in one place. It is fantastic because you've got all you need without having to walk all over the place.

Great shopping centre. Unfortunately because of the rain we only went to M+S which is a lovely store, also a large mens section.

I like to come here, it's a quiet area and after shopping you can go eat at McDonald's, it's in the same place

It has all the high street shops you'll expect. A couple of coffee shops, McDonald's, M&S, clothes, toiletries, accessories shops. Plenty of parking however it can get busy. There are lots of Christmas offers, so if you don't fancy paying for parking in town, this is a very convenient place to visit for your all shopping needs.

Some good shops, there could be more but it's good. The parking wasn't too bad despite it been really busy. There were always cars going in as well as coming in so it flowed well. I though it would be a nightmare when I arrived and see the queue but I parked straight away. They have some big shops with great selection.

A great little out of town shopping complex with a number of High St outlets. Only issue is parking at busy times. Unfortunately parking is a nightmare!!! Why don't planners ensure there is ample parking provision. Think there enough ground around site to install overflow parking.

  • 1/5 andrew t. 6 months ago on Google
Don't go here. It just doesn't have enough spaces. It takes 10/15 to find a space. Use your time wisely and drive somewhere else. Many times I've ended up driving away because it has become such a headache to find a space. This place is so infuriating. Don't go here!!! In fact. Just don't go to Banbury at all.

Good facilities. The only thing open when we went was mcdonalds but that's all we wanted. Strange layout on the approach roads

Prefer this to services (if it's during hours, of course). Just off junction 11, m40. Has a choice of McD, Starbucks or M&S for cafes. Plenty of free parking and other shops if needed.

  • 4/5 Chris S. 4 months ago on Google
Good selection of shops, the main downside is that it can be difficult to park because it is so popular.

  • 4/5 Claire C. 4 months ago on Google
I shopped in the foodhall. I would have liked sell by dates to have been a day or two longer. This seems to be a failing around christmas. Otherwise, the quality and choice were excellent .

  • 1/5 Allan C. 1 year ago on Google
Good selection of shops but don't go if disabled. My wife as just got a fixed penalty notice. Due to her disability she parked in different places in the car park. There were lots of queues in the various shops and according to the shopping centre she spent over the six hours allowed to park by thirteen minutes. She will never go again.

  • 5/5 Paul B. 1 year ago on Google
Only visited Marks and Spencer. My wife bought a selection of clothes, a few children's clothes for presents and we both enjoyed a light lunch of soup in the cafe. To finish off we went food shopping in the foodhall. Not overly busy. Highly recommended.

M&S food and primark are regular stops for me. Shame some shops closed.

  • 4/5 Garyth O. 1 year ago on Google
Huge amount of parking with the parking bays really large. Lots of stores to visit and all easily accessible from the car park. Signage to it from the town centre could be better.

  • 3/5 Adam P. 1 year ago on Google
Good selection of outlets and fast food locations on site, however keep your wits about you as the car park is somewhat busy, and for some reason many feel the need to hoon it around.

  • 3/5 Jim D. 1 year ago on Google
Always busy and sometimes challenging to park. A number of larger stores to shop at including M&S and Primark.

  • 4/5 Marc W. 1 year ago on Google
Some nice basics in for men at Mark's. Basic sweat nice quality in good choice of colours as good as some of my designer and only £22.50 matching shorts and sweat pants .. definitely worth grabbing a few . Plus a few pieces of RETRO knits under £40 ...

Stopped at Banbury Gateway to go to McDonald's on Thursday morning at 11.00am. There were plenty of parking spaces so we were able to park close to McDonald's. The shopping centre is about a mile from the N40 motorway so an ideal to break your journey. There is a Costa coffee in Next at the centre.

A few key shops if you know what you are looking for, plus cafes for a cuppa break. Free parking and easy to find. Will be back.

  • 1/5 Andy C. 9 months ago on Google
Received a parking fine for going a few minutes over the 4 hour limit. 4 hours is not unexpected for an shopping park with restaurants and cafes.

  • 4/5 William H. 1 year ago on Google
Fine as an out of town shopping centre, usual shops, M&S, Next, River Island, New Look, Few others. Easy parking, not enough electric charging points though.

  • 5/5 Sally D. 1 year ago on Google
Brilliant!! We went at the correct time for there to be not too many cars or people! Lots of bargains and loads to choose from. A very successful Christmas shopping day!

  • 4/5 Paul R. 1 year ago on Google
Nice little retail park with free parking. Good size M &S, Next, Fatface, and River Island. Well worth the visit.

  • 4/5 Michele G. 1 year ago on Google
Parking easy . Very close to m40 so convenient stop over. M and S great shop. They have the works, Next and a few other large stores.

  • 5/5 Barbara T. 1 year ago on Google
A good alternative to motorway service area food choices. The Shopping Centre has a large M+S with a good cafe. Efficient cafe staff can provide hot food in a relatively short time, made to order. For example, jacket potato and salad, toasted sandwiches and coffee. 5 mins off the M40.

  • 4/5 John S. 1 year ago on Google
Easy to find, loads of free parking (for 3 hours) and a good mix of big name retailers. Very easy access from the M40 and a choice of places to stop off for refreshments when you need a break from shopping.

  • 2/5 Jake B. 11 months ago on Google
Some shops ok , some already shut down limiting the choice, huge parking fine if you're there over 4hrs so don't stop for lunch and a coffee break on your shopping spree otherwise this could quite quickly catch you out! Get ready to write an appeal and beg not to be fined £60-£100.
