Very well maintained park, have ample parking. Visit charge is 100 to 200 THB, including free electric cart shuttle around the park, can get down in places of interest and again hop on on-coming cart. They also offer bicycles at reasonable price. Have snacks and beverage at affordable price. Restrooms are also in the premises. Orchid garden and Royal Pavilion are very eye catching Must visit if you are in Chiangmai

In Chiang Mai's embrace, where hills and blossoms meet, Royal Park Rajapruek stands, a botanical feat. Named for regal grace, it unfolds with pride, A haven of nature where Thai heritage resides. Founded in '06, a floral symphony begun, Celebrating the King's Golden Jubilee, brightly spun. Botanic wonders grace the sprawling terrain, Each bloom, a tale in the Royal Park's refrain. With diverse gardens and stories to unfold, Rajapruek's allure, a treasure to behold. Nature's sovereign tribute in Chiang Mai's embrace, Royal Park Rajapruek, a sanctuary of grace.

It is a very beautiful park. You need to visit here with time so that you can walk around and see the entire thing. They do provide free shuttle service but the tour is only in Thai language and will not stop at any place so you will be able to cover the park in just 20 min. It's a really beautiful artificially created park and you will get some really beautiful pictures here.

For the „royal” park its pretty neglected. Lots of attractions are closed and being refurbished. Only the royal pavillon is well taken care of. The park is huge and we were the only ones there which felt pretty weird. Like being in the abandoned jurrasic park. Maybe it was wrong time of the year (november), but I would encourage you to spend time in Chaing Mai elsewhere. Especially for 200 bht. It should be free for what it is.

The park opens every day. Ticket cost 100-200 baht per person. There is a free shuttle every 15 minutes. You can also rent a bicycle for 60-100baht for a whole day. We love riding bicycle here. We can stop anywhere for picture and go on our own pace. There's not a lot of people so you can enjoy the whole place. However, many pavillions are not in good condition (as it used to be when they opened in 2006). Overall we enjoy our day here very much.

Beautiful and well-kept gardens. A place for anyone who loves botany or manicured landscape. Some of the areas were shut down for maintenance and others didn't have water features turned on. It looked rather sad. Also, there was a guy sleeping in the middle of the floor in the Royal Pavillion. Maybe there are better times of year to see more plants etc. Also, there was only one shuttle taking people around and no other means, besides walking, to see the grounds. Not worth the 200 baht you pay as a foreigner.

this park is HUGE, GRAND, and everything is WELL MAINTAINED ! it is so big that there are golf carts for circulating visitors, or even rent-a-bike inside the park ! the landscape is well planned, and the greeneries are carefully planted and maintained (well, was the international flower expo site 2 decade ago). unfortunately, when we were here some parts of the park were closed for a function. the Grand Pavilion (not a temple) is the highlight, everything inside and outside are so detailed, kind of elaborative Thai art and architecture. the best season to come is the end of the year (with more varieties of plants and flowers), but be reminded that it will be still very warm during the day. you may need to plan at least 2 hours here.

The place is beautiful and is a great place to do a photo shoot. Love walking around and enjoying the awesome flowers. The ONLY complaint is that they made me pay the foreigners price. I have a Lifetime Drivers license and because I love Thailand and the people, I've chosen to retire here. They require a Work Permit to get the Thai price. I'm retired and don't have a work permit. I've been here, in and out of country since 1982. I speak the language well and count Thailand as my home, but yet that must not mean anything. Hmmmm! Maybe they overlooked those of us who chose to make Thailand our retirement residence.

Lovely park and it was really well kept and well designed. Horticulture has been given utmost importance and even showed how Thai farmers garden today. For those who can’t walk, there’s even a shuttle tram which brings you around. Would definitely recommend here

Park's main attractions are Royal pavilion, orchid pavilion, flora glasshouse, shaded paradise, rose paradise and bug world. Park is really big and you can take shuttle tram and hop on-hop off at any of 8 stops. You can also rent a bicycle. There are a lot of exhibitions in honour of king Rama IX and whole park is one big learning "classroom". Also there are various gardens and our favourite was international gardens. Park's highlight is deffinitely Royal pavilion, this building is just incredible. If you are staying in Chiang Mai and you like nature, trees, flovers and all kind of different architecture this park is a must see. We have spent there 3 hours and we would definitely recommend it. Ticket for adult cost 200 baht.

Big complex with variety of exhibits(?) To view. Free shuttle hop on/off anywhere runs by approx every 15 min, when walking is exhausting. Gift shop has reasonably priced items (I bought bottle honey lemon tea and it was only 20 Baht).

We reached the park early in the morning around 8.30. No queue and we were welcomed by a very kind and helpful staff. Enjoy the walking and the shuttle. Every 15 minutes you can catch the shuttle, but you can also rent a bicycle and experience the park while having exercise. The orchid garden outside was not blooming yet ( early September) but inside there was a green house with a colourful explosion of ortensia species and roses. Some areas are under rebuilding and some few new projects. Great experience!!!

A great place to spend half a day. The palace is beautiful. The international gardens are adorable! You'd better rent a bike there (60 TB) and explore all the corners of the park on wheels. We were there in the middle of January on a Saturday. The park was almost empty, and most of the gardens had already dried up and were not in bloom, otherwise the park was green and beautiful. We recommend taking snacks and water with you in advance, there are few places where you can drink or eat anything. Tickets for foreigners cost 200 tb per person.

Lots of people exercising and walking in circles in a cloud of car exhaust from the nearby highways. Better than a gym bcause it has trees, I guess.

The park is man made. There is a collection of plants from different areas of Thailand. And also from other countries. The place is good for someone interested in plants. There is a beautiful collection of orchid plants as well. The structures to symbolize other countries are nice. But Taj Mahal was funny, it was made of polystyrene. Ticket for foreigner is 200 baht There is a free shuttle inside the park that will drop you at different locations.

I think it’s worth a visit. It’s a great park and a beautiful temple. You have the options to walk, rent a bike or drive with open busses. The place has 8 bus stations and you can get out anytime and walk around. Its a atmospheric and kid friendly park.

Lovely palace with detailed wall paintings in the Royal gardens. The views of the surrounding gardens is not to be missed Shuttle service around the garden is frequent so can hop on hop off between places of our interest. The garden has garden themes from around the world. The ticket is a little pricey in my opinion. Take an umbrella on a sunny day or else will get rather hot.

Royal Park Rajapruek I visited this place mid April 2023. It’s a very beautiful park, well maintained and it’s also very big. So make sure you allowed plenty of time on your visit so you don’t have any regret. The park has free mini shuttle buses that come around every 20 minutes. It’s a self guided tour so to make it more joyful, you should go there with someone you know that would enjoy the scenery with you so you can take your time looking around. It is also a good idea to bring some cold drinking water, a hat or an umbrella, it gets very very HOT to be out and walking about and you will definitely need plenty of water.

Delightful place to spend an afternoon. At 4pm on a weekday we were one of the few guests here and the temperature was bearable. There's an entrance fee of 200 baht for foreigners. It's well worth the cost as you can easily spend 2-3 hours here.

The park is majestic with different zones representing different countries. I enjoyed the air conditioned, covered garden house. A nice stark difference from hot, humid Thai heat. There is a shuttle inside. I went with locals. They were charged regular pricing, while I got charged foreigner pricing on the entrance fees, foreigner pricing was alot more.

Chiang Mai Royal Park, also known as Royal Flora Ratchaphruek, is a stunning botanical garden located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This park is renowned for its breathtaking floral displays and captivating landscape design, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Originally created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's accession to the throne in 2006, the park has since become a permanent fixture for visitors to explore and admire. It covers an extensive area of around 200 acres, offering a diverse array of flora from different regions of Thailand. One of the main highlights of the Chiang Mai Royal Park is the international garden zone, which showcases plants from various countries, allowing visitors to experience the beauty and diversity of global horticulture. The garden's layout is meticulously planned, incorporating traditional Thai elements, water features, and stunning architectural structures that add to the overall charm of the place. Beyond the mesmerizing gardens, the park hosts various exhibitions, cultural performances, and events throughout the year, offering a glimpse into Thai culture and traditions. It is not only a place for leisurely strolls but also an educational and cultural hub. The best time to visit Chiang Mai Royal Park is during the annual flower festival when the park is in full bloom, bursting with colors and scents. Visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere and capture unforgettable memories with the picturesque landscapes as a backdrop. Whether you're a nature enthusiast, a photography lover, or simply seeking tranquility, Chiang Mai Royal Park is a captivating destination that promises a memorable experience amid Thailand's natural beauty and cultural heritage. Marvellous Bhutan

I recently visited Rajapruek Place and was captivated by its lush greenery and stunning floral displays. The meticulously curated gardens offer a serene escape, with well-maintained paths adding to the joy of strolling through each charming section. The Flower Festival 2024 was a vibrant highlight, enhancing the beauty of the surroundings with its colorful blooms and fragrances. The garden's attention to detail in design creates a picturesque setting. The friendly and knowledgeable staff at Rajapruek Place eagerly shared insights about plant species and the garden's cultural significance. Clean facilities and ample resting spots contribute to a pleasant experience. I highly recommend Rajapruek Place to nature enthusiasts, families, and those seeking a peaceful retreat. It's a true gem in Chiang Mai, deserving of praise. I look forward to returning to explore more of this botanical paradise in the future.

Originally the site of the Royal Flora Ratchaphruek (an expo held in honor of the King Rama IX in 2006-2007), this garden showcases an amazing array of different plants. The expo held over a decade ago was meant to showcase different gardening styles from over 39 countries. Although some of those gardens were sparse, the Royal Pavilion and Thai tropical gardens were nothing short of spectacular. This shot was taken from just behind the Royal Pavilion.

Beautiful park! A bit crowded - but, probably, not as crowded as it would have been during pre-Covid times. There is also a small local market where you can get a lunch and a free trolley around the park (it is totally walkable though).

Review based on two visits - first time in November 2019 and the second time in January 2021. November 2019 visit: probably how the park looks like most of the time all year round. There were large amounts of flowers, the memorial temple/palace was gorgeous, the Asian themed gardens were pretty, and the glasshouses were full of beautiful flowers. The lawn, flowers etc were in excellent condition. No dried grass or dead flowers to be seen anywhere. I was pretty impressed. It must have costed the park a fortune to keep all the plants watered, and an army of gardeners to maintain it in this tip-top condition. January 2021 visit: if it's possible, there were even more flowers. The winter season is the best time to visit this park. Now, you even get to see tulips in the greenhouse, flowers that grow in cold weather. In short, the 200 THB entrance fee for foreigners is considered expensive in Thailand, but worth every baht. It is now the best time to go, by the way. The park was empty when I went today, which is surprising given that it is a Sunday. Come soon before the flower displays are gone.

As commented elsewhere, this place began life as a temporary exhibition in 2006, but was extremely popular and therefore kept open. The photos I have added are all from the original opening, and so I am not sure what has changed since. However, I am very glad the project was kept open because the amount of work that went into all of the different exhibits must have been enormous. Originally, different regions of the park were decorated to represent different regions of the world, both in terms of style and the plants and trees that grow there.

(Translated by Google) The theme of the park will focus on recreational activities. Or recreation equal or greater in beauty Which can be divided into two large groups These include leisure or recreational recreation (passive recreation) and active recreation. These two types of activities are usually conflicting with each other. Zoning or zones is necessary. However, absolute zoning often creates problems. And defining the type of activity itself often has problems that do not meet the needs of the user. A good park must fulfill its usefulness and be beautiful. Park design is therefore important. Thailand has been an agricultural society since ancient times. Even in the city there is an open space, not very crowded. Therefore, there is no need for a public park as the current meaning. However, King Rama VI granted 360 rai of land at Thung Saladaeng for the construction of the Siam Rath Museum and classified it as a "public park" for people to use to relax abroad And conferred as "Lumpini Park", therefore, it is considered that Lumpini Park is the first public park in Thailand. Even before that many parks or gardens have been built such as Suan Dusit, Suan Sunandha, or Saranrom Park, etc., but it is not considered a public park. During the reign of King Rama 7-8, the economic downturn around the world and with the Second World War, no parks or parks were built again. Lumpini Park was constructed in the reign of King Rama VII, supervised by the Department of Nakhon Ratchasima. (Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning) later transferred to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in those days, the early use of Lumpini Park There is a lot of misuse such as being used as a venue for various events. As well as being used to build power plants, schools in both Thai and Chinese Rent a restaurant both on land and in the water Including the Kinnaree Nava Restaurant The users who actually use the garden to relax and exercise are often foreigners. A small number of Thai people use Often the poor use it as a place to relax and earn money from their sales. As for the wealthy Thai people, they often use restaurants. The misuse of the Lumpini Park is dilapidated, unsafe, and unsuitable as a public park according to changing social needs. Around the year 1971, the Metropolitan Municipality has set up a committee to renovate the Lumpini Park. Due to the voices of calls from the public and private organizations, the municipality has subsequently started to pay more attention to the addition of public parks such as the improvement of the Thonburi-side nursery to Thonburi Rom Park. Renovation of Saranrom Park, which is used as the office of the People's Party and the venue of the Vajiravudh event. Including the old Phra Nakhon Park at Lat Krabang, which is in a dilapidated state to have a usable condition But most of the work focuses on the construction of "gardens" which are not considered public parks. In other provinces, municipalities began to be more alert to the construction of parks such as the improvement of Yala Prubakoy and the construction and improvement of the vacant space into public parks in many other provinces over the past 20 years. The park offers a large and diverse collection of gardens plus interesting architecture and a temple-like hall in honor of King Rama 9. You could explore all day and not see everything! A map can be downloaded from the park website. The expansive grounds have great walking. Or you can hop on and off shuttles. Bicycles are available for rent. Shuttles, water & snacks, bicycle rental, and restrooms are all in a building on the right when you come in. You might wish to carry water. The park is open yet few visitors come now because of Covid-19. Foreigner admission costs 200 baht.

A very large botanical garden that is under a good care. It is seperate into many area. Many countries garden design are waiting for you to explore ( though it is not the same as they were first presented since the opening but still worth the ticket price). You can rent bicycles too. Plenty of parking space.

Cool park. Have a small fee for entrance. Don’t forget to stamp the parking slip at the ticket box for free parking. There’re small shuttle buses drive around the park every 15 min. That’s how you travel between each exhibitions. Don’t miss the orchid garden and International gardens zone. There’re also playground and learning center for kids.

There is a coffee shop near the entrance and also a restaurant within the complex. Lots of toilets available throughout the park.

beautiful, beautiful photo op moments. came on a Wednesday and there was so few people, I was alone in the temple for quite some time. 200 baht entrance fee. I recommend renting a bike, as it allows you to go through the park faster. If you like botanical gardens, this is a must do.
