Do not be fooled by the appearance of the shop. You don't want to get your hair cut anywhere else. This guy is quite possibly the best barber in Chiang Mai. I showed him a photo of a haircut that 3 expensive professional barbers in Australia weren't able to replicate. He didn't even look at the photo for 5 seconds. He copied it perfectly. Effortlessly. Like it was nothing. Seriously skilled guy and super humble and lovely.

Gentlemen.....if you want to know what it was like to get a proper shave "back in the day", you had better not miss Open Barber!! The owner, Open and his girlfriend Q were very welcoming when I poked my head around the corner looking to get my beard trimmed off. I'd never had a straight razor shave before and now I know what I was missing. Open was very professional and obviously knows his way around a straight razor. Facial massage, cooling towel and overall trim were phenomenal! Great taste in music. Now I'm hoping that my beard grows back just enough so I can get another shave before I leave Chiang Mai! Best barber in the city.

This place doesn’t offer a service; it offers an experience. I got a great haircut, beard trim and my faith in humanity restored. Open is a lovely guy, and Q is really friendly helping to translate. Music was good, the shop was cool and I loved the pair of them singing along as I got a haircut. Also picked up some homemade beard oil! Apparently, they might start offering drinks. I think I might move in permanently if they do that. Highly recommended! I also love Open’s philosophy: He said his nickname is ‘Open’ because he believes in having an open heart, open world, open everything. Great afternoon.

Just went in for a trim on my beard, and he went above and beyond. Triming around the ears and lining up the back of my neck. Excellent work, and I would highly recommend this barber.

Needed a last minute haircut and beard trim before leaving the city for a few days... My Grab took me to the wrong location, so I got to the right place at closing. Lights were already off and he was counting his cash. Really appreciated that he opened back up for me to do one last cut for the day. Was in Chiang Mai on vacation and really needed a hair cut, and saw this shop was walkable from the hotel. It's a tiny place, but the barber fit me in right away even though he was getting ready to close. Cut my hair great, and even recommended styling my hair in a new way that I actually plan to keep doing. Would recommended.

Being somewhat denuded of hair on the head (through age and genes), I should not present too much of a problem to a barber. However, believe me when I say there are those who cannot get it right. I also have a beard, the trimming of which demands a certain know-how. At Open Barber, I had a really good, professional experience. This barber knows the job extremely well. I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment. In addition, there is a tasteful choice of music in the background!

Wanted a barber that does nice skin fade . Excellent barber he knows what hes doing. So apologetic and understands english well. If you looking for barber. Do not look anywhere else. 300bhat is good price u pay more than this for alcohol;)

Really cool atmosphere with great music and the barber is so friendly and speaks good English. The price is so good and if you choose the total package you get a haircut, clean shave, nose hair trim, face and head massage which is amazing value.

Just like others have said, this barbershop is a hidden gem. Don't judge the book by its cover. My mom is a hairstylist, so I'm able to know when a barber has the experience, and I must say this one definitely does. I told him I wanted a fade 1, and from there, he knew what hairstyle I was going for and did it better than others I've gone to in the US.

one of the best shaves ever! i'll probably go back before I leave this weekend. attentive, friendly, professional and great barber humming along to the fun range of music. from ray charles to scorpians live. amazing head massage. and fun after photo which I have yet to checkout on Instagram. go here and just get a trim, or best of all a smooth razor shave.

The other reviews were correct, good barber who is meticulous even though I just needed minimal cut. One chair shop so wait your turn if it's busy. Prices at $300thb is good compared with USA pricing. I would recommend this place as I will be back in 3 weeks when my sides grows out.

I’ve had barber cuts, low/mid and high fades for 15 years. If you’re English and are obsessed with that perfect fade, as I am….you’re in good hands. My man is a serious perfectionist, lining up your hair line to MM precision, I don’t think I’ve ever had anything so particular. Proper gent, good service, good tunes, chilled vibe. Get cut here.

Very nice owber and has a good eye for what will look good. I came for a buzz cut, but the owner asked if I and my girlfriend liked this instead and my girlfriend loved it. Don't just the facial hair, I did not have that done although I could've probably used it. Thank you!

Awesome experience, I had to clean the beard line, and he did an awesome job, trimmed the beard, used the razor for the contour, fixed the mustaches, clean the back of the head and the noise hair. He even added a quick relaxining head massage at the end, all at the same price, can't get better than that, totally recommended!!
