Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the room I stayed in was lacking. The bed sheets were dirty, and upon closer inspection, I found bugs, dust, and cotton swabs under the bed. Additionally, the mugs offered for coffee were also dirty. I understand that maintaining cleanliness can be challenging, but these issues significantly affected my stay.

First of all, don't be fooled by the pictures. This hotel is basically rotten. Clearly, they did some renovation at the lobby, but the rooms are in a bad shape overall. Towels were dirty, TV super small, AC barely cooling. I'm glad we didn't take it with breakfast. I can't imagine the taste with all we saw in one night stay. The only thing you'd benefit from this hotel is it's location nothing else.

ฤนocation and price were the best things. Very few guests (17-21 February 2021) but still loud late in night ( not the fault of the hotel plus a nice reception staff offered change of rooms ). Very clean, I must mention that.

We were recommended to this hotel by our driver due to its location. And he was absolutely correct, the location is very good. Close to the walking street and the old town. However, that all the positive things I could say about the hotel. The front desk was rude to us and were not very friendly. We arrived at 4pm and were not able to get to our room till about 5pm. When we got our key card, we still were not able to get to our room. We end up have to walk back and forth from the room to front desk for them to fine tune the key card. The breakfast has limited selection and taste very average for Thai hotel standards. If it weren't for the location, we will probably not return here again.

9.6 โ€œExceptional value for money at centre of the cityโ€ This is one of the biggest hotels in the neighbourhood. It is located very close to Thapae gate which is the centre of the town. The weekend night market is a 5 minute walk and all major temples inside the walled city are easily accessible on foot. The pickups for day tours generally stop at the area. As per the quality of stay, everything was good. The room sizes are big and our bathroom had a tub also. Swimming pool is decent. Although the property is a little old but maintained well. Staff was courteous and response was satisfactory.

Stayed here 2 nights in April 2023. The breakfast was not good - all pastries were stale and there are flies in the buffet area. The location is good and the rooms are relatively comfortable. The facilities however need urgent upkeep - below is a picture of our bathroom.

Nice location. Okay hotel, but the rooms really need renovation. The lobby is impressing, but I hope they will spend as much effort in renovating the rooms as well. Personale was friendly. The window of our room could not be locked (you could slide it open). The bathroom had moist stains in the bath where the water stays after showering (there is no separate shower). There was no ventilation in the bathroom. The transparent curtains are all ripped. Also the last towel I got was ripped. There were small spider webs behind the headboard. The swimming pool is quite depressing. Not well maintained. Ice cold water and no sun.

We got upgraded to a suite for our 6 nights stay... very happy about that. The room overall is nice with many storage, large spaces, and great views. Great location with lots of spaces for parking. The hotel lobby looked nice, and breakfasts were great. However, the hotel can use updates and better maintenance, especially in the pool area. For the price, this is as expected. A deep cleaning of carpets in rooms, elevators, and pool areas should tremendously improve the image of the hotel.

Air conditioner in two rooms could not remove humidity adequately or lower temp enough to keep me comfortable. I checked out two days early because I kept asking them to fix it and it didn't get fixed. Routine maintenance is important for the hot months of April and May. I understand it's hot but the AC units are large and should be able to blow cold and remove moisture. These were not adequate. I was moved from one room to another that had same issue. $90 bucks down the drain. This also made me feel exhausted my last week in Thailand from not sleeping well.

The hotel is generally very good. And it's excellent value if you can get a room for B1,000 a night or thereabouts. ( It may go up soon) But I took one star off because the rooms need much better soundproofing. You can hear the toilet flushing in the next room, and hear every voice in the corridor outside. And that's a real problem when you have big groups staying next to you, treating the hotel like their own home, shouting in the hallway etc. (2 separate groups on 2 nights did this.) Maybe the hotel could have signs everywhere telling people to be quiet at night and to shut their doors if they have screaming kids. It should be obvious but unfortunately it's not.

From the minute you walk into this hotel and are greeted by the friendly staff and the huge porcelain tiled, granite covered and very tastefully decorated entrance you know that this is going to be a great experience. The rooms have recently been refurbished and are brand new, they are well layed out and include everything you need...and all of this for $29 per day for 2...๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜

Stayed there for 2 days in Aug'22. Due to covid, not many guests there and booking was of affordable price. Conveniently located near airport (10min ride), money changers, massages and street food within 2km walk. Clean room and service is good.

The lobby is phenomenal. One of the best hotel lobbies I've ever seen in the far east. The staff are very friendly and responsive and the service is excellent so far. The room I originally got had a problem with the AC and I was given a smaller room instead. After complaining, they gave me a bigger room. The room and bathroom are very clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet items were mainly pork and as a Muslim I don't eat pork. When I bought this to their attention they asked me to tell the reception. We'll see what happens tomorrow. So far it's been a nice experience.

The location is strategic, hotel lobby is newly renovated but the room is outdated. Air conditioning is loud and not cold, the soundproof is poor. It is a tour hotel so there are many people at breakfast fighting for food.

Very disappointing. They messed up my booking multiple times at check-in, even though I showed them my confirmation email. First, they wanted to give me someone else's room. Then they gave me a twin room (I requested for a double) which I had to change at reception as the in-room phone was not working. Eventually they gave me a double room, which was not made up. They then gave me another new room, but the key card was not working so I could not get in. Granted, the hotel is conveniently located (1 star) and the lobby is beautiful (1 star), but these 2 points do not give me enough reason to stay here again.

This hotel is in a great location with a wonderful tour guide who helped us plan our trips around chiang mai! Close to a lot of great restaurants and local temples. The hotel rooms themselves are older and could be kept a bit cleaner. The bathroom doesnโ€™t have a button to flush but a handle more like a public restroom. Not the end of the world. The room walls are also very thin. The room service however was very nice and you get a great value for any traveler.

Older rooms, good location slightly over priced. Door to adjoining rooms are thin. Very big lobby big conference room. Pool is very small. Rooms are o k size. Stand in the bathtub to take a shower.

A little bit less than average I think the hotel was very good back in the days but it feels like at some point they gave up. It is mostly clean inside the rooms, the entry hall looks great (to impress your friends), but neither the pool nor the gym I can recommend. The pool maybe if you wear noice canceling headphones, the gym brings almost no options and is hotter than outside temperature. During my stay my keycard stopped working 3 times, so I had to go back to front desk until somebody came with me to reprogram the lock, after that it worked. The location of the hotel is good though, and you can walk everywhere. Most importantly a 7-eleven is in 3 minutes walking distance. It was okay but I would not choose it again if I had an option at same price.

Satisfactory. Price is good. Lobby is remodeled and nice. Breakfast was ok, only. Food presentation, esp. the hot food, was sloppy and in places, unsanitary. Please replace or clean all public are carpets! Smelly and grungy. Thankfully, our room had hardwood floors.

The location is perfect to walk to the Gate. The rooms are large and have dressing gowns and slippers for your comfort. The bathroom is stocked with toiletries and a bath/shower. Breakfast has a large choice of both Thai and continental options. Check in and check out was smooth.

Very bad hotel to services the customer. It doesnt meet the requirements of customer rights. Cannot give the laundry services at all every time. Just follow their procedure. Not professional in services. Hotel should give a priority to the customer for their emergency if customer ask to do a favour for them. Im late check out waiting and waiting to press my clothes.

Yes good day at Songran. Good good. Cold French Fries though. And not enough chairs on the first floor outside the meeting rooms. We've been going here every year for many years its great. Great atmosphere as well...

First impressions was great at the lobby but first impressions is not everything. Pros -Spacious -Have Laundry services (convenient) -Good hot water but probably need a hot water mixer to keep water at right temperature. Cons -Find a few cockroachs in the room -Noise of water flushing down the pipe -Have issue with key card multiple times -Low shower water pressure -Noisy aircon We asked if we could change the room from double bed to 2 singles and the receptionest told us that during these season it is very hard and not much room is available which is understandable. After about 10 minutes stay in the room the power when off. Reception send some guy to have look and he told us that it was the fuse/circuit breaker and it is cause by charging to many electronic devices at the same time so he told us to only charge it one at the time trying to put the blame on us and at first I didn't say anything trying to be polite and don't want any trobles but he keep repeating so I told him no no no a Hotel like this should have no problems, it is the Hotels that should have a higher rated electric cable with a higher rates fuse/breaker. When he when into the roof to look for the fuse he pull out some PCB which is not a circuit breaker, it look like the device they have to control all the lighting in the room probably malfunction and couldn't be fix at the time so they move us into new room and vala a new room with two single bed just appear out of no way.

Nice hotel, great location, comfortable and spacious rooms, super fast elevators, good staff. Great value for the money. Would stay there again.Breakfast offerings could be tastier, like better coffee and some brown rice and bread. Healthier type options. But it was edible, where some places aren't. And carpet in the elevators needs attention.

For the price, I would have expected a much more updated interior and furniture. Also had mixed views: first room (before my tour) was a little run down with non-functional items, second room (after my tour) was very clean and all the items were working. Overall a pleasant experience.

The A/C was very very loud, the room looks and feels basic, there weren't bath towels in my room, and very little in the way of toiletries. You're better off staying somewhere else.

Excellent hotel. Super clean and nice. Has a bath ๐Ÿ› too. Only thing missing is an iron and you can't request one either. Absolutely enjoyed my stay, was able to walk around the old square.

Great hotel with great service near Tha Phae Gate. It is somewhat luxurious and very clean. Breakfast buffet is average and the pool could be better.

Very spacious room with a nice bathroom at a fairly affordable price. You canโ€™t ask for a better location as itโ€™s located about a minute away from Thaphae Gate and the Sunday Market.

The rooms have been renovated...but still not upto a good four star..they need a lot of work on the rooms...i had to change rooms twice due to air-conditioning failure..the staff is outstanding...they did all they could do to make our trip comfortable..location is great...expect a ok four star

This is an international-standard hotel (probably the best in its class) with decent and spacious rooms. One can expect warm, friendly service and an excellent location - walking distance to Ta Pae gate. The breakfast could be better and coffee is not piping hot. Some staff may not speak English. But they do make it up in other ways.

They do everything to keep the stay more comfortable

  • 4/5 Jax S. 1 year ago on Google
Hotel location is superb. Amenities are no where near a 4 star hotel. No toothbrush,no toothpaste, lotion or toiletries. Breakfast is like 2 star hotel standard rice soup, some mixed vegetables and chicken soja. No cheese, sliced salami or any other stuff except jam. Overall, price value kind of ok. 1400 baht for double bed deluxe. ShangriLa you get definitely better for your money.

Hotel location is superb. Amenities are no where near a 4 star hotel. No conditioner, lotion or toiletries. Every room has a cool central control dashboard which I've never seen in any other hotel. Overall, good hotel with reasonable price.

Amora hotel maybe a fading beauty.l stayed here at covid prices, nevertheless l needed help at times to unlock the door, sink not able to empty and unable to use the shower. That said it is clean tidy and checkin is prompt.Good wifi but tv atv only.Because of covid it was largely deserted. It is located near the main entrance to the old city.

Walked in to be told price was 3 times what Agoda was advertising it as so walked out booked on Agoda and walked back in - looks like the place has seen better days but decent rooms with โ€˜old school fancyโ€™ room lighting controls on bedside table (took me a while to work that out going only by the light from the bathroom!) pool looked good but didnโ€™t get a chance to try it out due to a (very) late night out :)
