This backpackers hostel is owned by the same owners as the Drop in Cafe which is a great cafe with delicious food in Chiang Mai Old town. Now they have brought their same cafe menu to this hostel which I have added the photos of the menu. They have 4 levels to this place. The ground level has both indoor and outdoor seating where you can sit and relax in the garden outdoors or sit inside and access the free wifi where needed. You need a secure pass key to enter the level you are renting and one level is for women only, another level is for men only and final level is a mix gender group room where if your a large group you can rent together. Each level has its own bathroom with shared showers and toilets and the rooms are shared. Each bed has secured storage where you can lock stuff up on and also a section where you could mount a laptop or iPhone or phone and each bed area has PowerPoints. This place is also a small walking distance to the night life if you like your bars and clubs , and also short walk to the popular Sunday markets and you can walk to the night bazaar which is open every night but it is abit of a hike. Tha Phae gate is also a small walk. There is plenty of places to eat and drink in the area if you don’t want to eat here. They also sell tours here, so if you are after a tour talk to the friendly staff here who will help you. Try the burgers they are delicious

This was the best hostel I had the opportunity to know during my trip to Thailand. The place is clean and organized with a nice social atmosphere. The staff is really kind and welcoming and like to talk with the guests, providing a good opportunity for cultural share. The dorms are large, the beds have its own lockers and curtains. The common areas are well matained and clean. The bathroom is the best I've seen during my trip and they even provide soap and shampoo for free. They offer free breakfast and there's water, coffee and tea available 24h.

Absolutely love this hostel. Can honestly say the best hostel I've stayed at in all my travels in S.E. Asia ! Staff is friendly, helpful and work well together. Annie and Casey are amazing. Helped with suggestions on everything from food to tours and got us better deals then buying direct from companies. Hostel is at a great location next to Old City and walking distance to most everything. Everything was super clean and comfortable. Cant recommend this business more and will be my first choice when I come back to Chiang Mai !

I WILL BE COMING BACK HERE EVERY TIME I AM IN CHIANG MAI FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE! I had the BEST experience in Chinag Mai and it was honestly made possible by this hostel. Their service and kindness, i have never felt more welcomed than when I stayed here. Amazing beds, room, bathroom, garden, location, people, amazing everything! Baan Heart Thai is very peaceful, not like a party hostel but close enough to one that you can walk and chill there then come back to a peaceful hostel in the heart of Chiang Mai.

Best place I stayed at during my whole SE Asia trip. The dorms are spacious and the beds offer enough space and privacy as well as sockets. You also have plenty of lockable storage space. Bathrooms are also huge and in genetal the whole place is extremely clean. Annie and Casey are the best hosts ever, offering activities and they can book and tour or transport for you. I loved this place and I am sure that I'll be coming back to this gem in Chiang Mai (location is also great and they have Grab Codes).

Solo women: your dorm showers and balcony can only be accessed from your dorm. There’s a keycard to get into your dorm — also a keycard scanner to get into the front door and a keycard scanner to get behind the desk. For everyone else: It’s very, very clean. They actually mop the floors and showers. The a/c is properly installed, such that you don’t get sticky and clammy (I’ve been to 5 proper hotels in Chiang Mai and this place is the first to get the humidity correct). Shoes are taken off downstairs. The refrigerator is clean and orderly. The owners are thoughtful and helpful. Best yet, the property itself is peaceful. You can hear roosters, birds, and relax on the two balconies. (See pictures). The lobby is also thoughtfully laid out. And the queen cabin beds are a true luxury. Fantastic Chiang Mai hostel. Sometimes you want to review a place because they have silently been doing everything so thoughtfully, and they deserve the recognition.

Recommended for backpackers. It's a nice place to stay. Clean, friendly and helpful staff, excellent meal, and the most important was affordable. Don't be Hessitate to choose this right place. 🙏🙏🙏

Really great place to stay, super friendly helpful staff, super convenient location , an oasis in every respect

I went hostel "hunting" for a long time in Chiang Mai upon my arrival and I found this one to be hands down the best if you are looking for a very quiet and comfortable stay. It is the cleanest and most comfortable hostel that I've stayed at in my entire time in Asia. The staff here are so incredible and such hard workers to ensure your stay is amazing! They are accommodating in every way and go above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable. The place is spotless and the design of the pods make you feel like you have your own little bedroom and I felt like I could keep my backpack and other things organized well. There is a cupboard space they provide to you that is within your own pod with an additional fold out desk. I am a digital nomad (online English teacher) and had no issues with the wifi for my entire 3 week stay - it is incredibly stable and reliable. There are three levels, each with a special addition including a beautiful patio, library, and cozy loft. HIGHLY recommended for people looking to RELAX and come home to a clean, quiet, and peaceful atmosphere. Thank you to Casey, Annie, your family and the amazing cleaning staff!

After backpacking through Thailand, I can confidently say that Baan Heart Thai was the best hostel I stayed at. Nice clean rooms, great location within walking distance of the city center, and the staff was friendly, helpful, and attentative. Annie in particular went above and beyond as a host with her wonderful recommendations.

Very very clean, organized, cosy and quiet despite being very centrally located. Best of all is that it’s owned and run by a local family who are very helpful and sincere. Sisters Casey and Annie run the place and give it a personable and homely atmosphere. Annie knows the city and what it has to offer to visitors like the back of her palm and organizes outings with those who stay at the hostel. She’s also a coffee connoisseur and knows where one can get the best coffees in town. Easily one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Staying here itself is reason to return to Chiang Mai.

We LOVED our stay at Baan Heart Thai. The hostel itself is incredibly clean and comfortable. The owners, Casey and Annie were so kind and helpful, and made us feel right at home. Impressive hostel. Two Star Hostel with Five Star Service. It's been a moment since I last stayed at a hostel and this property is quite good. Very clean space and the towel and bed linens were fabulous. I am definitely planning on staying again in the future. Love the firmness of the bed. Rested super well. The street can get loud at night towards the weekends due to super rowdy travelers at the nearby spots on the same street. Ear plugs might be needed. The actual guests were super conscious to not make noise in the night. I stayed on the fourth floor that has the queen size beds. Loved the design and comfort. Lot of ample key card security points to assure everyone safety and camera strategically placed as well to monitor the public spaces. Community sitting area inside and in the garden. Space to store food in the fridge as well. Overall, very accommodating and friendly space with good vibes. Khap Khun Khrap to the Baan Heart Thai team.

This is a nice calm hostel. If you want social with music and meeting people look a couple of doors down at Stamps but for a quiet, clean place to relax this is perfect. Privacy in dorms with curtains around beds. Cupboard in your pod for bags which you can padlock. Free water fountain. Friendly staff. Good price. Clean bathrooms. Good location to explore old city and tourist areas.
