It's been a while since my last visit, so I as it was Friday I thought I would pop in, have fish & chips and watch a bit of cricket. It hasn't changed at all. Pretty uncomfortable chairs and poor table setup. Only two tables were positioned in front of the TV and both were taken (by just one person on each, who didn't look as if they wanted to be disturbed), so I had to select a high chair and eat at the bar, whilst turning to watch the match. The fish tasted OK although it was neither the preferable cod or haddock, but once I tucked into it, the fish portion turned out smallish, with far too much batter. The chip portion was also small, and only 'oven chips,' not the preferable chunky ones. The most redeeming feature there today was the Burmese lady who served me - she was both efficient, friendly and the only chatty person in the pub. The U.N. Irish Pub & Restaurant always had a group of regulars who liked it for the sport, and I guess it's still popular for that at show times. I will return to 'OMG' for their comfort, air conditioning and 'real fish.'

A decent pub. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. The facility itself is nice with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is professional if a bit disinterested. The prices are okay, which also describes my feeling for this business.

Possibly the best Irish pub in Thailand. The owner, Sandy, is an absolute legend - a genuine delight to talk with. I've been coming here for many years, every time I visit Chiang Mai. They've recently connected the tiny backyard to link with the accomodation so there's a wide open space that opens. Perfect for large outdoor functions.

Back for the first time in more than two years. Nothing has changed, food is still good, staff are still nice and beer is still served warm. If you like cold beer in a hot climate there are many better options on this street. Rumour has it that the management is Australian, I don't believe it, no self respecting Aussie would serve warm beer at these prices. Such a shame, could so easily be the best bar in Chiang Mai

Don’t think I will ever go there again after how we were treated during the World Cup Finals…. A group of our British friends were waiting for us inside… two of us were late so we headed to the counter and asked for beer but the staff there just stared and ignored us… asked the second lady at the counter and she hand-signaled us to stop or wait (not sure)…. We stood there and waited for a while (as we saw others get their drinks)… finally we asked another guy (white) but he simply says “we got no Chang” and turns away… two of us left quietly after feeling somewhat unwelcome but I couldn’t stop thinking why the hell would they be so rude to us…. It was our first time there as well…

Had a excellent breakfast and coffee here. But try getting served when seated in the "UN BEER GARDENS " for cofee. Service has to be chased vigorously between 11-3pm despite plenty of staff and very few guests. Would appear that the wait staff there don't like having to serve items from the bakery metres away which is part of the same business. The staff at the bakery itself are outstanding however. Service was extremely good even by very high Chiang Mai standards. I ordered pancakes with egg and bacon and a hot latte. The waitress pointed out that my order came with a free black coffee and that she could just give me some milk to go with it. Also ordered a Guinness Beef Pie to take home which was excellent. It was quite warm in the building at around 10 am and could imagine it being quite hot in there with no air conditioning in the hotter months. Beer garden is very large so maybe better to sit there in comfort. They also have fans going for your convenience. On my last visit around lunch time, I did notice that the majority of the tables and chairs were getting full sun and was during the cool season but sun too strong for more than 5 minutes. Would suggest they put shade umbrellas into the tables for customer comfort.

We just wanted a quick snack and shared some of the home made chips and a couple of bottles of water. Sat in the beer garden which was one of the few places in Chiang Mai where it feels like you can actually choose to sit in the sun.

Came here for a quick pint before heading back to our hostel. Very nice bar with large beer gardens! Staff were very helpful and accommodating. A little bit on the pricey side (240thb) for 2 beers but can't complain about anything else! Very nice and would recommend

Thaiands greatest Irish pub. Awesome food, great staff and the best pint of Guinness I’ve had outside of Ireland. Keep it up.

A Sports bar where the waitress refuses to put sports on TV when no one else is in the bar.. Rude and angry waitresses. The Irish stew was well below average, which is amazing considering this is supposedly an "Irish Pub". ( If you are used to English food then maybe you will think their food is delicious) Go across the street to "The Score".

My go to place for a burger 🍔 When I decide I'm going out for drinks this is where I lay my burger foundation for the night. I'm struggling now to finish it and it's all I've eaten all day! Nice sized burger and fries! And beer battered onion rings! And a damn salad 🥗! All for 179 bt. Just over 5usd.. and all the condiments to go with it.. this place is a CM institution as it's been here forever.. whew.. I'm stuffed! 😂

UNirish Pub & Restaurant has been my favourite spot for Guinness, sports & people-watching! (Lovely garden & upstairs and The best Guinness pours in Chiangmai I’d say) The staff and managers are super friendly and they do really good food for both Thai and western! Massive fun during St. Paddy’s that’s for sure!! 🥳

We came here for a breakfast when we were travelling. I had a full English but I warn you not to eat the bread. I geared myself up for this breakfast expecting similar tastes to that of at home. You can somewhat relate tastes to the main meal. But once you try the bread, it is ruined. It is too sweet. Other than that, probably the closest you'll get to a full English. However we also didn't go out of our way to find one. This was the one and only one we had. They also had a room of cats which were so blooming cute. So after our meal (which was nice) just not comparable. We spent some time playing with the cats. Such a nice experience.

Great Big Irish breakfast with all the trimmings and fresh brewed coffee ( 235TBH). Really satisfied our craving for a good old fry up. Also ordered the Ham, tomato chutney and grill cheese sandwich, the bread was amazingly soft and fresh (140THB), lots of good quality ham, crunchy lettus and a sweet spiced chutney!

Do Not Go! We just finished a plate of fish and chips here….homemade fries with no taste and tasteless fish cooked to a complete mush! I dont know how the food could have been worse and not to be outdone the two women servers were unpleasant and bordering on rude! Place is not exactly dirty but it’s not clean either! We cleaned our hands when we got to the car. I can’t give less than 1 star or I would.

Small pub, looks worn and rundown. Small serving bar, three beers on tap. The pub could be great if renovated and freshened up. No aircon inside, just fans. Guinness is cold and good. Not much else to recommend it but for those seeking a low key establishment, this might do.

High quality food with vegetarian choices, a superb bean burger, plus the bakery section with pies, pizzas, fresh bread to take away. Cold Guinness and other decent beers. Massive garden area ideal for groups and live music! Friendly Staff and prompt service. Reasonable priced accommodation. Big English breakfast, just missing the Quorn sausage

Visited here numerous times during our stay. Good drinks and food . Lovely garden with fans to sit out the back . Really friendly staff. They own the bakery next door so you can choose your own fresh bread and filling and eat in the garden . Watched prem league football here.

The pies at UN Irish Pub are just awesome. If you love pies give it a go. The mash and gravy is bloody good to. I eat there regularly. Nice outdoor beer garden as well.

Ordered the beef stew, steak and onion pie with fries and gravy and a caesar salad to share. The stew and pie were pretty bland, definitely lacking any spices or real flavour, the pie wasn't very full of filling mostly just pie shell, and the salad was a little soggy. Paid over 600 baht with a water and Coke, there are other places I'd rather spend that much for better quality in my opinion.

Hey, it’s a bar… but if you are going to pay $300B for a pint of Guiness, the food needs to be good. Hubby’s fish and chips was a sizeable portion but there was something just a little off with the fish. Neither one us could put our finger on it though. I had the chicken schnitzel which was a bit better but my fries were the frozen kind and the gravy was bland. Very uncomfortable chairs and slow service you had to chase someone down for everything. I doubt we’ll go back.

U.N. Irish Pub & Restaurant is in the heart of the night life area. Great pub and a wonderful outside in the garden fell area. They have quick service from outside for drinks with a variety of drink selections. A good stop over, start of the night or to watch some sports pub.

Very good service, nice pie (from their crusty bakery across the road?). Lovely beer garden. The band last night was more of a gathering of local expats/retirees - lots of ‘screaming’ singing but the male vocalist was good. Sit away from the speakers in front 😬

The bar looks empty, but in the back there is a garden with tables and a very beautiful space... I asked for a draft beer, but there was none...only bottled beer, but it's worth knowing. Don't ccept Card only cash.

Love this spot. Owner is...Sandy from Australia but he is of Irish heritage. And while once here I did indulge on One Guinness..it set me back a bit but it was just so good. And Sandy sells bread also from the baker next door, and that stuff is the best western style bread in all Chiang Mai I do believe. No photo of it, maybe next time I go in, so here is a photo from the middle of the moat near the park.

Have been coming here for years for Breakfast and dinner. The full Irish breakfast is fantastic and their main dishes are delicious too good pub atmosphere and the staff are quite witty. Would definitely recommend this place to someone who wants some western food and a few pints plenty of screens to watch all the sports to

I spent two weeks in Chiang Mai. I got more mosquito bites sitting down at this place for 30 minutes than I got the entire rest of my trip. I had to pay and leave before even finishing my drink because I could feel myself getting eaten alive. Not sure how to fix, but this place was extraordinarily buggy even for Chiang Mai. Maybe try disrupting the stagnant water in the garden? They pour a decent Guinness though.

Great pub with affordable prices. It's very cozy, they have tables in the garden, and live music sometimes. Drinks are inexpensive, choice is fine. They also have food menu but I never tried any food here, so can't say anything about it. This pub is a good place to meet up with friends, in my opinion. Just don't sit next to the stage when they have the live music, if you want a quiet environment (it won't be loud if you sit away from the stage).

  • 4/5 Alan B. 1 year ago on Google
Great bar, decent food selection albeit on the slightly more pricey side. It is an Irish bar after all. Would not for one second be paying 250 baht for a guiness no matter what way you spin it. This is Thailand, not temple bar. I've had guiness here we'll cheaper than that so this is just Irish tax. Outside of that the food is good, staff lovely and the outside garden area is cosy and quiet to have a bite to eat and chat.

  • 4/5 Peter G. 1 year ago on Google
Had breakfast today. Actually ordered at the little bakery next door but it’s a shared menu. Cheese omelette was great, toast was overdone, pancakes were tasty, the coffee cup was barely half full, the coconut scone unique. Slightly pricy for CM.

  • 5/5 Mark M. 10 months ago on Google
Everything was fine at this restaurant, and I eat here fairly often. I downgraded the atmosphere a bit, as they don't often use air con on the inside of the building. The heat here it's been almost unbearable over the last few months. I was having dinner there one Thursday night, when they have the trivia contest upstairs. It was swelteringly hot downstairs where I was having dinner. I can't even imagine what it was like upstairs. During the winter time this place would be quite nice I think, when it's cooler. Otherwise, I know you have air conditioning, please turn it on! And I mean like 7-Eleven! Not like many places use air con here: set to 29 degrees Celsius!

We just walked by, saw the menu and decide to try it since my family is in town. We all enjoyed our food the Italian Sandwich(yummy), Rory Sandwich(really liked the garlic sauce), Fish and chips (was fried light and fluffy but the fish was a little soggy, reccomend a little firmer and flaker fish to work with). My husband is from Upperstate Michigan where pasties are popular and he ordered the Cornish? It had beef, pork and onions. He says "it's the closest to a pasties your find around" and he has had a lot of pasties. There is a grilled cheese(called something else) that you can add meat to if you want. If your allergic to cats just know there is a cat on site. We will probably be back again. They have pasties after all:)

(Translated by Google) This is a bar run by westerners. It's very old. We don't like it at all. There is no decoration and the environment is not good or comfortable! Sitting outside will be more comfortable and spacious. Food and drink are a bit expensive in Chiang Mai. I live in Chiang Mai and my husband and I often come here to drink and eat. The food is not bad and the service is okay. There will be a lot of European and American before the epidemic. Tourists and Europeans and Americans who live in Chiang Mai for a long time come here for consumption. Since the door opened again in May, we have been here for a few drinks, and there are almost no guests. Only the boss and a few waiters are walking out and walking in boredom, so deserted. ! Of course all places in Chiang Mai are depressed!

Nice little courtyard in the back and Guinness on tap. The food is not great though, have tried a few different things and it's all been pretty poor. My sandwich last time had almost no filling at all and the bread tasted like it was several days old and it wasn't even heated or toasted.
