A terrible place!!! The room we were given was dirty and smelled musty, the bedding was dirty and stale, the furniture damaged and crumbling, the bathroom so horrible that it is difficult to describe ...(I added a photo of the bathroom in the gallery). We tried to talk to the owner but whenever we asked for him, the service said he just left. For me, this is a SCAM. With this money you can rent a place in a much better standard and certainly a cleaner place. I advise you to avoid this place.

Pirates cove is one of my few go-to places for a quiet drink, a friendly atmosphere, and a budget friendly room. The proprietor, Akim, is one of the most helpful individuals I've met in Thailand. The menu is always fully available and features everything from local cuisine to German mainstays, as well as dessert and even some Mexican dishes (which are surprisingly authentic). I would recommend this establishment to the middle aged crowd traveler and ex-pat alike.

Great place. Delicious food, local and western. Perfect stop for a cold beer while you're exploring the city. Ask the owner, Kim, for his local recommendations, he won't let you down!

Pretty sure it’s actually closed and is run by enterprising squatters. Really cheap though. The bed did collapse but if you’re careful and don’t move around on it too much it should be fine. The WiFi is reasonably fast. There are very loud dogs next door too. I do not believe there is food served anymore. The bar looks abandoned.

Really great stay at Pirates Cove! Right in the heart of the old city with well-priced A/C rooms. Owners are extremely kind and accommodating!

The couple are incredibly kind, welcoming and fun to be around. The food is amazing, the parrot is an awesome form of entertainment. I come to watch her almost every day! I feel very lucky that my accomodation is right next door! I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Chaing Mai

Run by a German Australian and his Thai wife. Very friendly atmosphere and great food. The rooms are teakwood and cosy. The bar is a nice place to relax and mingle with the local expats and other guests. Say hello to the beautiful tropical parot who lives there and sometimes likes to squawk for attention.

Reasonably priced restaurant for Thai and western food. Was there with a Thai friend and she enjoyed the local food much. The owner Achim (Kim) is a very kind and laid back guy who speaks fluent German and English and Thai nit noi. Highlight is the big parrot, what gives the place that special "pirate flair"!
