Doi Seuthep-Pui National Park is a huge area. So you have to decide where you want to go and take your grab directly there. Here are some of the options: 1) To Doi Suthep temple: on Grab, type "Wat Phra That Doi Suthep Ratchaworawihan" and Grab costs around 400 baht, Grab Roddaeng costs around 270 baht (you can share and split cost between your travel companions). 2) To Hmong Doi Pui village (no temple here, but a gorgeous local village with lots of food options). You can type that in Grab. 3) To Monk' Trail: type Pha Lat Nature Trail Information. 4) any of the other trails that are in that mountain range. "Doi" means mountain. Suthep and Pui are names of two mountain ranges. I strongly urge you to visit Hmong Doi Pui village ("Hmong" means people). You will absolutely enjoy it and will not regret the decision. I will do a separate review under that destination on Google maps. It is worth the money and distance. You can get to Doi Pui village either directly from Chiang mai by Grab (500 baht one-way) or Grab Roddaeng (340 baht one-way for the entire red car to yourself and your travel companions, so you can split cost) or you can get to the village from Doi Suthep temple (cost is supposed to be 60 baht for shared cars, but since very few people go up, red cars don't fill up and drivers try to ask for more. We negotiated for 75 baht each to go up to the village from Doi Suthep temple. On your way back down, there are even fewer red cards and drivers. It was hard to find Grab. So we managed to pair up with 4 other travellers and the 6 of us negotiated and each paid 70 baht from village back to Doi Suthep temple (and from there we took a separate Grab Roddaeng to Chiang mai). If you want to visit Monk's trail and Wat Pha Lat, see my other Google review under "monk's trail". If you want to visit any other hiking trail, I suggest you consult AllTrails app to see your various hiking options. Most pictures I have posted are from Hmong Doi Pui village.

Can’t get over how much beauty is in this park, tons of water falls, moderate inclines, rice fields… I can go on. I took a tour guide through the village and they served us lunch and coffee and tea. I suggest doing it this way to get the full experience! This was my favorite part of my chaing Mai trip!

Must visit in early morning (around 6 am) to go around the temple and to see the sunrise. It's just breathtaking. You can see the whole chiangmai overall with beautiful sunrise. Furthermore, highly recommend to go with a local guide so he/she can explain about Buddha and Buddhism in detail. You can also experience providing food to monks during the tour. It was an amazing experience.

Although the weather was quite hot, we still went to Doi Suthep-Pui National Park to see this place. There are not as many people as we thought, the surrounding scenery is still very beautiful, the air is fresh, clean and cool when we stopped in the hill. That's amazing.

Amazing every time I find peace and tranquility here There is a meditation center where one can stay and engage in silent (vipassana) meditation under the guidance of Buddhist monks. Highly recommend

It's good to go. The 306 steps up to the temple is a moderate climb with two nagas as handrails. It's a picturesque place. If tired, there is a funicular that can bring you up, and walk down the stairs. The foot of the temple has a lot of shops, the handicrafts were done by the local tribes in the area. The prices are comparable to the stuff in Chiang Mai city. The temple is just a simple temple where you can visit and pray. The chedi is big and golden. It has its historical significance and beauty to it, like many other temples. In my opinion, the entrance to the temple as you need to buy entrance fees.

Doi Suthep Pui is the name of the highest summit of the area. The National Park is located 5k far from Chiang Mai city center. It's a great place to enjoy trekking, trail running and mountain biking. The jungle is deep and wild, the mountains are very high with great views, its possible to stop and eat at different small Hmong villages located at the foothill of the summit. It's definetely one of the best and most beautiful place in Thailand for outdoor activities. And so easy to go. Unfortunately trails are not marked so its difficult to find and easy to lost. Sometimes trails are also so wild that you need a machete to move forward. But when you know the area, that's amazing place.

A very pristine jungle with steep terrain and beautiful bogs. Some trails are not well maintained and can be hard to follow. You need your own transportation essentially but still very beautiful to walk around and explore. There is camping and small lodges you can rent with views of Doi Suthep and Chaing Mai.

We spent the day here! The drive from Chiang Mai is about 30 minutes, and there is TONS to do. We explored the temple first, and had coffee and lunch around there. After we did the Nature Trail and went to the peak. We stopped for a bit on the way home at one of the water falls, too. Definitely recommend it.. the ride up on a scooter was a little difficult but if you’re confident on one, you should be fine 👌🏼

Place to be boycotted, tourist and Thai pricing different at 500%. May shame be on your racket of foreign tourists. Doi Suthep-Pui National Park are 100 Baht for adults and 50 Baht for children 3-14 years old. Thai citizens pay 20 Baht for adults and 10 Baht for children.

The place is really picturesque and a nice stop off from Chiang Mai. The markets here are nice if that’s what you’re into also and there was a lot of good bartering and laughs from locals and tourists together. I didn’t eat anywhere up here so can’t comment on that, but looked much the same as any market. Worth a visit if you’re in the area as you can jump into a Songthaew for cheap.

Peaceful and quiet place. you can choose to rent the whole house, or just a room with a cheap price and even 30% discount on weekdays. Also an area for camping. Alcohol and noisy party are prohibited.

sun set at the top is absolutely beautiful. the whole temple grounds will glow with the sun going down. if you time it right in the evening you can see the monks do their chant at the end of their day. everything is very respectful and calm. its nice to head up there just to slow down.

We rented motorbikes from our hotel for 300 bat per bike and drove up there. I have never rented a bike and felt comfortable with the roads. Would recommend this way to see the temple. Very windy and fun road to drive

It was my first time camping, I found this place to be very convenient, spacious, affordable, clean, great working staffs. Food stalls, great view and close to the airport. It's a must for people new to this area. Don't forget to try their shabu. Music can bother other people peace of mindset.

Beautiful garden and architecture! It’s located up the mountain away from the busy town. There is plenty to do there, including a visit to a local arboretum and a canopy trail. There are also plenty of food stalls. They were very well run and not expensive at all. It’s a shame the vegetarian options were limited. Especially the stand that was preparing omelettes. If only they didn’t have to put crab in there.

A must see! I wasn’t sure that I would like it as I thought it would be very commercial. I loved it! We went on Buddha day, which understandably is a very significant day for Buddhists. I loved the atmosphere. It was amazing to see the very beautiful traditions, ceremonies & the way in which many were dressed in traditional dress for the occasion. Suggest you take the cable car unless you are quite fit. Truly worth it

Such a beautiful and natural park. Definitely a must-visit place in Chiangmai. And you can even have a chance to try wild blueberries😜

Definitely worth the visit, whilst there are taxis (those red van-like cars) which can take you to the top cheaply. Very cheap if you get a seat in a communal taxi at one of the taxi stops. There's a market for souvenirs upon arrival as well as a very cool temple at the top of the stairs

very disapointing. its a national park, but its crowded by cars and motors. u cant breed. there is only a few tracking trail, but even of thay say in their internet page the park is free, for some trails you need to pay 50 bath. if you dont, than you take a taxi or walk in a dangerous rode up to the mountain. even some part of the monks trail, you need to pay. and cross or walk on this dangerous rode.

Amazing and peacful atmosphere in this temple ! Not to crowded at the end of the day, you will feel relaxed over there to just walk around and feel the energy. Just wear proper outfit and enjoy the view of Chiang Mai. Easy access and parking from the city center, the road to go up there is great and the air is fresh. Walk to the top by using the stairs, it’s definitely not to hard just take couple minutes!

Position high up the mountain side with views looking over Chiang Mai. Glorious Temple with expansive grounds providing great vantage points to sit and enjoy the scenery and the majestic Temple provides numerous jaw dropping spectacles of Buddhist culture. We hired a small red bus for one way journey to the Temple at a cost of 300 Baht for private use ( no sharing) from Chiang Mai Old Town, most drivers were asking for 400 baht one way or 800 Baht for return journey. I would recommend paying for one way because when we finished are visit at the temple there are many red taxi buses available for the return journey and we shared the the cost with 7 other tourist and paid 60 Baht per person for return to Chiang Mai. The bus service at the temple is well organised with helpful drivers who explain the procedures.

*Pros: - Plenty of scenic views the city of Chiang Mai. - Relatively cooler than urban area(26-29 C, 74-78 F). - Elevators. *Cons: - Not very peaceful as typical temples. #chiangmaitravelalluneedislove

A most beautiful mountain in Thailand especially when we do trail run/walk to top notch of Doi Pui. Such an amzing route which you can't missed it ! Take a chance to do so.

The place to visit to take a break from the crowds after the early morning giving of alms to the Buddhist monks and temple visits. The park has a few public places to sit and have a picnic. The air temperature is significantly cooler than the City of Chiang Mai and, if you're lucky, you may even get a refreshing breeze.

A nice spot to have a top view all over chiang mai and not so far away from the old city. Also you could take a songthew from city centre to there. Just check the stops online. It is much cheaper than you hire a taxi or grab if you are travelling solo. Be prepared this is a very popular tourist attractions. Many people all day.

An absolute must if you are in Chiang Mai. I have been to Chiang Mai on numerous different occasions and this temple has got to be the first thing that comes to mind when I hear Chiang Mai. There is also a amazing view point at the top. I would say it’s worth spending 1-2 hours at this location and the best time to visit would be at 9am as it isn’t to crowded at this hour. Be prepared to climb a long flight of stairs to the top. If you can’t brave the stairs there is also a tram looking lift which can also take you to the top for a small fee.

Beautiful drive up to park on motorbike. Didn’t care too much for market & temple area (except Ing Doi Cafe, must stop). Drove a little further to the actual National Park area, quiet and clean with lookout over Chiang Mai.
