DO NOT GO IF YOU LOVE ANIMALS We showed up stupidly thinking it was more of a safari than a zoo. The entrance is very grand with a water show also, however all animal cages were totally dried up with turtles trying to swim in puddles, and none of the animals looked happy in their tiny miserable cages. We sat for the tiger show and left within five minutes- no animal should be made to perform to a crowd with blaring music and a ‘trainer’. I looked at reviews and peoples videos after and saw that the night predator show is another circus performance from a variety of animals including lions zebras giraffes. The tigers looked terrified of their trainer after performing each trick and cowered with their ears back. I’m not sure how often they’re made to perform but we went on a weekday so I imagine it’s the majority of the week. You cannot train animals to do this without punishment- please remember this and do not support a zoo like this. Animals are not performers, and even after the show they have to return back to their cages, mostly living alone. I would never ever recommend this , the tiger show was difficult to watch even for five minutes. The hotel and entrance part of the building is so huge whereas the back of the lake where the animals are looks like a completely different place- you can see where they are spending their money and they clearly don’t care about the animals they enclose. There were wires and hosepipes laying around, ripped tarpaulin over empty cages, all of the mini rivers and ponds were dried up, almost everything needed repairing. Very sad to have not done my research beforehand and supported a place like this- lesson learnt

Very beautiful tourist place. Full of greenery and trees. Well organized place and can be one of the best destinations in Chiang Mai. All of the shows was nice and reasonable, not to short and not too long. Need to spend around 4 hours if you need to walk around the lake.

The visit felt like a machine gun firing of events with little break between the shots. For the kids it was amazing and I also felt quite entertained. The safari consists of two different tram rides that are quite nice. Then there are the tiger show and the night predator show. Especially the tiger show is a borderline case of what one can watch when considering ethics and animal healthcare. Wouldn’t come again for that exact reason. However, the kids were well entertained and the evening closed with a fountain show that was quite a friendly highlight. Pricey and no healthy food options available.

The night safari is pretty cool. If you go there, make sure you buy the ticket for the two trams. These are basically the best adventure, especially for the kids. We stayed there for around 4 hours, and the kids were totally happy.

I wish I had read reviews before I came. I'm shocked this place is rated so highly. The enclosures are far too small and animals show obvious signs of distress, boredom or sedation. We didn't even stay for the safari because it was too distressing. The croc enclosures were the worst, with three crocs to a space the size of a bedroom, dirty water and terrible condition. Across from them, white tigers had paced so much there were tracks across the entire small enclosure. Absolutely disgusting. Considering the entry fee was 1200baht, I don't know where the money is going because the animals certainly aren't seeing it. Please do not support this place. Ethical animal attractions are far and few between in Thailand and this is certainly not one of them.

Perfect for family with kids. Small entrance fee if you are Thai. Shows were great, staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. They should have a better way to manage the parking since it's like 10 mins+ walk in the dark from P3,4

While the night safari was interesting and it looked as if the animals had quite a bit of space, the tiger-show is literally a circus. The animals look underfed and are forced to do repeated tricks. In the show you can see the tigers being scared of the "caretakers". They were even hissing at the caretakers. I wish I did more research before coming here since I would not have come if I had read some of the reviews.

I wish I had not wasted my time and money here. I went there for the safari and I found our there were animal shows which left me pretty confused. If you love animals, you dont come here, where are misfed so they'll execute tricks for food, they are stressed and unhappy. I cried for the hyena, who looked at us and kept staring around visibly disorientated. The lion was very thin. I left after not long, with a sense of disappointment and hatred. This is not what animals were made for, our lame entertainment. If you don't know where to bring your kids, please stop condoning and financing animal abuse.

Kids love it. You can take a walk around the lake to see various animals, it will probably take a good 30 minutes or so. There is a tiger show, and a predator show, both are informative and entertaining. The main attraction is probably the tram tours. The savannah and predator tour, you can get really close to the herbivores, especially the giraffes. There are both English and Thai speaking tour guides for the trams. Outside the entrance, there is a petting zoo and pony riding area. Our kids love to come here.

Big zoo with a great variety of animals. Don't recommend the tiger show if you're sensible or somehow more connected with animals since it's quite sad to see this majestic animals being handled in that manner. Besides that it was a very nice experience and the zoo was quite empty that time of the year, but made me consider stop going to zoos (only reason I go is because of my 3 yo daughter).

I can see why this would be a good stop if you have children. As an adult my experience was horrible. The cats are very scared of the trainers which tells you a lot. The tram safari at night was a joke. The guide said ‘I don’t know what that is called’ more times than I could count. If you are in the second cart you are dependent on the spotlight on the front of the first tram to take pictures and they never kept the light on the animal while the second cart caught up. If they do keep the light on long enough, the tram doesn’t stop for the second cart. Essentially you will end up with a bunch of fuzzy or completely dark pictures. Also, you have to take your ticket out every time you access any part of the park so keep that handy. They should invest in bracelets. Only reason I’m giving two stars is because the staff running the gates were very kind and helpful telling you where to go and when.

We had a great time with our kids (3 and 5 yrs old). Went for the night safari, came to the zoo at around 6:30pm, went straight to the Night animals show, than tiger show and at the end took the 8:30 safari ride. We saw all the animals, our son was lucky to pet a giraffe. Animals look healthy and their enclosures are spacious and the whole place just has a ‘feels good vibe’. The staff is friendly and helpful. Price seems fair. You can get really good snack around (we had buns filled with various treats), the whole place is clean, well kept, nice atmosphere… Clean toilets near by each of the strategic sites places. Overall I can only recommend. We will try to come again during the day as there is more to see then. TIP: if you are getting there by Bolt (or similar way of transportation) for the night safari, make sure to book a ride back in advance. There are no cars available in the evening. We were lucky our driver told us and picked us up at 9:30 as agreed. I looked and Bolt put of curiosity and really, no availability at all.

The Night Safari worked out well for us as we were travelling with a 1 year old. Our aim was to get to the zoo at 2.30pm. Go on the tram at 3pm. Watch Tiger show at 3.30pm and another tram ride at 4pm. It worked out so well for us. The weather was cool and made it even more enjoyable. Animals like the giraffes came close to the tram for food and interaction. It was an experience up close. Animals were happy chilling. We ended the zoo with the petting and feeding of the donkeys, baby sheep at 5pm and went off to have our dinner back in the city. Overall super fun and not tiring for both adults and baby. Highly recommended with young children.

Animal show (tiger+lion) was fantastic. The little creatures one was amazing too. Not giving full score as the tram bringing visitors into the zoo left us very little time to spend with the animals.

I don’t really like going to the zoos (Especially in Thailand). But the Chiang Mai Night Safari really exceeded my expectations and I left the place with satisfaction. The place is very well organised. The two tram tours are well guided by the safari guides. The safari guides are very knowledgeable. I went on the tram at night and still could see the animals easily with the tram spotlights. There are 2 animal shows to see. Both were equally entertaining. There is a musical fountain show which should not be missed. Best to see it at night with the lightings. There is a mini dance show which was entertaining too. What I really appreciate is how they have put some thought to spread out the timings of the shows/trams. The timing of the shows/trams are spread out just nice so that you can have enough time to walk over for the next activity. I spent 4.5 hours there and overall I really enjoyed my unplanned trip there.

It's an okay place but definitely not worth the 800 baht for an adult foreigner. There are two shows with tigers and night predators. I personally didnt like seeing animals made to do such acts which are unnatural for them. I guess the training would have been painful for the animals. Everything is as per schedule - first the shows and then the tram. The animals are too far off from the tram to see them properly and hardly wait at each place. Biggest disappointment is that there is nothing "night" about the trip. It is essentially regular animals but the tram happens to go after sunset and they shine a light to show the animals. I was expecting more on the lines of Singapore night zoo but it is not like that at all.

We all loved the shows. It was a pleasant experience specially the trains that allows you go very close to the animals 🦘🦓🦙🦌🐐. I would recommend going before sunset (3 pm) to see all the animals. You can spend 3 to 4 hours there. Some places close early (7 or 8 pm) so check the shows’ schedule online. Note( there are many more animals but i couldn’t capture everything😅)

I will say this for sure... definitely cool and worth it(ish). It is way better than the Chiang Mai Zoo & Aquarium. The animals sometimes get close. Their are programs and shows that will fill your entire evening. Definitely should go right away at 5:30 or 6p if you want to see everything. You will be HUNGRY by the end if you don't eat before.

Chiang Mai Night Safari is the place where all gender and generation will love seeing the nature hood of animals lifestyle. You can travel here very easily by Grab or Indrive App with reasonable price. Entrance to Night Safari these days on promotions where you can find update in website or Facebook page. During August 2020 price is 100THB for Tiger Show cost 40 THB. Due to Covid-19 there's restrictions, not allowed to give food to animals and touched them - which we have to adapt from situation of now. At some point you might find less, if compared to before Covid-19 times. But still different complexity into Zoo or jungle.

The Chiang Mai Night Safari is really more of a very big zoo than really a Night Safari Zoo. The zoo is quiet big with a day time walking area that is a bit too big and not that interesting. The two tram rides, about 30min each, are much more interesting. The tram would allow the visitors to feed the animals while looking at the animals close to the tram and at distance. All the hungry animals would walk up to the tram for food. The giraffes eating off your hands would be a fun and exciting experience for everyone. Definitely recommend a visit just for the tram rides and animal feeding. Recommend to visit around 4pm or 5pm for a few shows than the tram rides.

In terrible condition, stagnant dirty water ponds in the cages. Very few animals to see on the jaguar tour. Lots of construction going on. Depressing for the poor captured animals.

We just went on Sunday for the walk. Less animals than the last time we went about one year ago. Children playing area was closed, souvenirs boutique was closed. Some animals places empty. Double pricing, thais pay less than foreigners. Wasn't bad for the children but....

Great time! Amazing shows and lovely staff. There was one lady that describing the animals on the second tram. She was talking in a very inappropriate seductive voice. That was quite disturbing. Me and my husband were very uncomfortable to the point we could only laugh about the situation. Except that unfortunate experience, everything else was pretty wonderful. But please... someone tell the lady talking and describing the animals to talk appropriately... very uncomfortable ride

An okay experience. After it got dark it was hard to see the animals. A small park and probably not worth the 800 baht for foreigners. The dancing show didn’t have animals. Best part was the tiger show, although they looked tired:( skip this one

DON’T COME HERE!! The animals get tortured and are left in small cages with the blaring heat to suffer. They say that the elephants are “dancing” when they sway their trunks from side to side but in reality that just means they are under immense stress from being held captive. We made the mistake of not doing our research before coming here but left as soon as we noticed that the animals were not being treated fairly here. We did not attend the tiger show but no animal would naturally do tricks and obey its trainer if it weren’t being abused. They spend all their money on making the outside of the safari look appealing but don’t invest in the animal’s wellbeing. Beware of this place and don’t make the same mistake that we did.

A delightful experience for the whole family. If you get here a bit earlier, and before you go into the main attraction, you can feed the giraffes and other animals wandering around, see a tiger show, and play with the colorful birds. Once inside, there are a number of shows including snakes, dancing, elephants, tiger and various other animals. Check the schedule beforehand and plan what you want to see. Get to each show about 10 minutes early to get good seats.

Our family used to love this place a lot since there are a lot of space for our kids to walk and run. There are so many animals too. The price is reasonable. And the location is not so far from the city. We came here again on November, 2020. Things seemed to be much different from before .. due to the covid-19, obviously. The walking around the pond part is not as good as it used to be. Probably half if not more are closed, or on renovations. We haven't check on the tram part yet. I do hope it's still be the same.

We chose jaguar trail tickets and it was great, lots of animals. I'd say the shows look a bit exploitative and wouldn't have wanted to watch them, but these things do happen in Thailand. All you can do is vote with your wallet and not buy the tickets for ilthem

Cost was $800 baht per person. You get a dancing show (skipable), a tiger show (okayish), night safari show (good) and two tram rides, which is the gem as you get to see animals up close. I was able to pet the giraffe 🦒 which was pretty cool. Pictures I've posted is basically the experience you will have. The crowd because of corona is extremely small. Our group consist of less than 40 where as it can be around 300 people at a time peak season.

Must visit with children when you are in Chiangmai. If you are going in the evening you should get there by 530pm to do all the activities there (Tiger Show, Nocturnal Animals , Dance Show& the Night Safari). We went a bit late and missed the last tiger show around 6. The last Night safari starts at 8pm and ends around 9 pm.

More of an animal attraction than a safari, will be fun for younger guests, adults will get more enjoyment/value out of a night market instead. If you do plan to visit, I would recommend organizing your own transport and organize the trip yourself as opposed to choosing one of the pre planned packages with pick-up/drop-off, save quite a bit of money

Came here 8 years ago. Was amazing. Best time ever and I’ll never forget it. Now it’s good for kids to see animal but it’s not how it use to be. I was there tonight after 8 years and for me It was good but not as good how it use to be. Years ago we use to be able to take pictures with the Tiger and so much more and now I couldn’t even find any place. It’s a beautiful place and beautiful people but would really like to get up close with the animals and feed them. I was abit disappointed as nearly half of the glass encloser were closed up. Some of the animals look very skinny and it was pretty sad. I would still recommend to go but make sure u go on the tram/ mini bus that goes around and u look at the animals. Overall good place to go and I do think it’s a great time. Make sure u go at night time to experience the Night safari

I went after four o'clock. There were not many animals during the safe zone, and most of them were sleeping and not very active. A considerable part of the sightseeing animals in herbivorous areas and carnivorous areas overlap. Many cats walk back and forth in the exhibition room, which is one of the rigid behaviors of animals because of the small space or lack of rich facilities. I don't know why I can't see many animals with their faces only on their backs when I go sightseeing. There are also three staff playing with a baby white tiger in the tiger area, but at the same time they are training it to get down. I don't know whether to prepare for the performance. uIn a word, I came here with the expectation of the book, but I was disappointed.

Sad. All of the animals are sedated or tranq'd. Elephants standing motionless, swaying, are not dancing, jerk guide. They are showing intense signs of stress and boredom. These sad places should be shut down immediately, and the animals uncaged and released to their natural habitats. A sad reflection indeed on how low mankind will stoop to make a dollar...

The tram rides are great, worth the money. This takes 30 min x 2 rides, total of 1 hour. The first bit of the show is about an hour and a half but it's like circus. I could have done without any of that.

What a shame that 819 rai (327 acres) were not invested into the animals, as the animals are kept in small enclosures without any seemingly wild terrain. Sadly the falsely advertised animal sanctuary is a money grabbing zoo and circus exploiting these animals in their shows for profit. We need to support animal sanctuaries that support animals with proper facilities, care and education. NOT exploiting animals for entertainment. 0 stars

A very enjoyable day out for all the family. The animals are clearly very well looked after. Shows are a must, especially the tigers. The global situation has put a few restrictions on access to all areas but still highly recommended.

Well it is a place which targets family and kids. It's good to go if you have time to spend in chiang mai. Otherwise i would skip to focus on the temple and the jungle trip. But in Covid time can be something to do among manys cloaed

  • 5/5 Piano L. 2 years ago on Google
A fantastic place for the whole family. High quality exhibits and shows. Much better than the zoo and perfect for the whole family.

  • 4/5 shelly g. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice, though because of covid19 you can't walk by the safari, only go to the main shows- tiger show, predators show and two trains that goes near all the animals, but the price is lower accordingly - only 150 bhtinstead of 800, really cheap and fun! I recommend 👌

I don’t get the hype. IMHO, a waste of time and money. And effort, as the online booking and the paperwork to enter the park (Thai seniors and one foreigner) was frustrating. The animals look well fed (that’s good of course) but at 7pm (the time of our booking) most were sleeping and we saw hardly any of the “night and predators”. What’s the point of a night safari, then? Grandiose setup and entrance, but the actual park was lackluster.

Felt a little bit bad for the tigers. But overall, a good experience. Saw many animals.

  • 5/5 Irene Y. 2 years ago on Google
Very nice place and we enjoyed it. They checked for Thai ID/driving license of every adult. If you have this, you can buy adult ticket for 300 THB instead of 800 THB. Due to Covid measures, the timing of every show and tram ride is predetermined at the entrance, resulting in a very smooth visit. I recommend entering the park by 445pm so that you can watch the tiger show and the night predator show before taking the trams.

The Jaguar trail is amazing! The park was very impressive. The animals I saw were in good health! The place is clean and the staff is so friendly! I will definitely be doing the night safari soon. Highly recommend! I’m a foreigner and it is worth the price.

  • 4/5 Luc 2 years ago on Google
Very well organized and a good variety of animals. Only complaint is that the safari tours really speed through often making it difficult to really appreciate most of the animals.

  • 5/5 Nathan M. 2 years ago on Google
What an experience! Giraffes came right up to our open air bus.

  • 2/5 Grégory P. 2 years ago on Google
Expensive. Needs maintenance and better care of the animals (ex: ostriches). The 2 loops in tram are only 25min long.

  • 5/5 Johnnie Victor F. 2 years ago on Google
An unforgettable experience for our group. The best part was the ride around the zoo where we had a fun animal encounter with the giraffes and some deers where we handfed them with vegetables and fruits provided by the staff. It was a well-guided tour, the staff assigned to us was very knowledgeable and friendly. It would have been more exciting if we went there at dusk until early evening. But due to our hectic schedule, we were there when the sun was still up. We had so much fun, nonetheless.

Nice experience, suitable for kids and adults. Even though it's called night safari it's best to come at day light to not miss anything.

This was a fantastic experience for my family. The price includes 2 safari rides in English and Thai, a full on zoo, a big cat show and a petting zoo. Everything is maintained very well and the staff was very helpful and kind. This is a must for families.

Nice night safari… guides display animals well and everything is comfortable. Go to the zoo if you enjoy spending more time with each animal or going at your own pace.

  • 5/5 Kaden B. 1 year ago on Google
This place was awesome! Great price for tickets that included a few shows and some trams to see all sorts of great animals like elephants, wildebeest, and rhinoceros! Definitely would recommend as a tourist attraction too.

  • 2/5 Sultan A. 1 year ago on Google
Definitely not a must.. Its normal place with natural animals. The shows is very standard with no tricks or anything interesting to see. Doesn’t worth 800 baht for sure

  • 4/5 Nina Leung (. 1 year ago on Google
Pretty cool. You get a schedule to follow when you buy tickets and it's animal show after animal show ending with 2 night safaris on trams. Kids enjoyed it.

  • 4/5 Phiber O. 1 year ago on Google
So good. If you love an animal you must visit this place at once. I started with an animal show where you will see a variety of animals, But closely see the porcupine. It walks on a narrow way. After that you will see many animals behind the mirror such as a lion a tiger a hyena a jaguar. You can see a dancing show before you get in a touring car to see the night life of the animal.

Worth the price for Thais and foreigners with work-permit. 50% discount for local adults above 60 years old. The shows were OK. Very rundown and some areas were closed for renovation. Animals seem quite well-fed. We enjoyed cool air at night during tram ride. Too bad feeding animals (ex. Giraffe and zebras are not allowed) otherwise, it could have been more fun.

  • 4/5 Sameer K. 1 year ago on Google
Had a good time visiting the safari. The tiger show is awesome so is the actual safari. Due to the time restrictions We missed one of the shows but you can plan and attend all the shows. The staff guides you very well and is polite. You need to plan for the return travel after the safari as it ends around 9.30 PM.

We visited night safari after covid 19 almost a year after relaxation quarantine. Animals and train tours are still great. Tiger show did well but some tigers refused to show their actions, I think it funny in some ways. Food is not very good due to lack of variety, better fill yourself before arrival. I didnot see predators at night show due to heavy rain so we left park early.

  • 5/5 Haroon R. 1 year ago on Google
Unforgettable Experience.. Worth every penny.. be at the park early so you dont miss out anything.. 2 tram rides, Jungle Ride & Predator Ride are the best. . Animal show and Tiger show are amazing.. they have shuttle service to get you to parking lot and bring back.. very well managed event.. 👏 more shows running with food items sold inside make your experience memorable.. highly recommended. 10/10

We really had a good time there. The bus drive in tour starts around 18:00. We took 18:30. So it was not too warm, not too dark, most of them animal are awake. Operated by super friendly staff who explained and answered everybody’s questions, the bus took around 1 hours (both Sawannah and predator zones) Then, tiger show. The staffs were all friendly, toilet was clean, facilities were secured and well maintained.

i did not know what to expect of this but it came out really nice. the tiger show and dance show, but definitely the tour with the train in the dark. very nice to do with little children, they will have a blast, i did too and i’m not a child anymore

Unlike night zoo in Singapore, this night safari features two tram line, one is Herbivores and the other is Carnivores. You can see zebras lions giraffes and many other animals on the tram from a distance, some animals can walk very close to the tram. Also, there are animals show which much like a circus show.

  • 5/5 Hall K. 9 months ago on Google
Recommend for great outdoor zoo with tiger and predator shows. In the open zoo, I had a chance to be very close to those giraffes, zebras, deers, and those cows. Amazing place to visit

  • 5/5 Siujia W. 9 months ago on Google
The herbivore area (zone 1) has a better experience, the day that we went giraffe came and stop by the van. It is a nice experience.

  • 5/5 Gwendolyn F. 8 months ago on Google
We did the night safari tram ride and it was a lot of fun! The guides were funny and informative and so entertaining! There were lots of animals and the giraffes came up pretty close which was cool.

The Chiang Mai Night Safari is a great time and you get to see the animals and great shows. Just make sure to pay for the ticket that includes the trams otherwise you don't get to see the shows or the animals. I don't find that it was very well explained.

I enjoyed walking from World Club Village to Chaing Mai Night Safari which is 4.8 km. I enjoyed seeing the cleanliness and calmness. People are very polite with loving smiles on their faces.

  • 2/5 Leonor M. 5 months ago on Google
That's a zoo, not a safari experience. Two short train rides that you have to take separately, only to see few animals. The mistreatment of cats, underweight, especially the Lion, whose ribs are marked, is evident. White tigers are terrified of their trainers, a sign of great punishments. It is not understood how a civilized government, or its monarch, allows this.

  • 5/5 Alex S. 5 months ago on Google
This was a great experience. The place is well kept. Entertainment is really good and the habitats are also well kept. The animals look healthy and active. There’s a paid ryde you can take but you can also walk. Bring comfortable shoes. There’s a dancing show around 6:10pm better get there fast the sits fill up quickly. Overall ok.

1 star is a star too much. animal abuses are blatantly seen here and during shows. animals are kept alone and show signs of stress and boredom as they are being enclosed in a tiny enclosure. please do not support an organization that normalizes abuse. expensive and unethical.

  • 1/5 jrnny B. 4 months ago on Google • 1 review
Very bad. Animals abuse and animal cruelty. The animals are obviously starved, not taken care of, and forced to perform. They would often be whipped if they didn't want to perform. They deserve better. You should never abuse an animal for money, or your happiness.
