A secret hidden gem. A wonderful temple volunteer called 'V' spoke with me and taught me mediation, about the Darma wheel, and how to live more a peaceful, wholesome life. I spent over an hour here speaking to him and him explaining everything to me. I could've easily spent more time here with him. No pressure to donate and very welcoming. I believe V is here on weekdays and would recommend anyone to come and speak with him if you want to learn more.

Really beautiful temple with meditation and educational offerings! I walked in one morning and was greeted by Vee, a Buddhist volunteer, who is extremely friendly and knowledgable. There is a mindfulness corner within the temple which he invited me to and provided a brief explanation on Buddhism and guided me and my friend through sitting meditation and walking meditation. This temple also has a classroom with educational sessions every Sun, Wed and Sat on Buddhism with David, called Daily Wisdom. Vee also provides guided sessions on Gong bath meditation, which is an amazing meditative experience and I highly recommend it. You can walk into the temple anytime and use the mindfulness corner to ask questions and practice meditation. I'm grateful to have come across this temple.

Small Temple, the Ordination Hall is closed, but the Assembly Hall is open and worth seeing. Lovely wooden structure, colourful murals and beautiful embossed shutters along the sides of the main hall.

Never understand people who rate a temple low or β€˜just another temple’. Chiang Mai has many temples and each has their own history and story. Worth taking time to speak with monks at the temples, as many can speak English in Chiang Mai and love to practice and tell you about the history of the temple, which you don’t get even from tour guides - I know because I work in Thailand in tourism. This particular temple is over 500 years old and one of the original temples in the Old City. It’s one of the most important in northern Thai history, as it houses two of the former Lanna Kingdoms most revered Buddhist statues. Worth coming early morning when you maybe lucky enough to see monks chanting and locals making offerings.

Beautiful temple. They have free meditation class every Sun-Wed-Sat at 9:00am. They also have Buddhist Study Community. My friend and I walked around the temple and a volunteer (Vee) greeted us inside. We had a chat about Buddhism. We sat down and he taught us about different ways to meditate. He was lovely and answered all our questions. I highly recommend a visit to this temple when in Chiang Mai.

There's nothing incredible but has different color with other major temples in this area.

I was very lucky to find this beautiful temple and meet Veerayuth who is a volunteer there. He was so kind and took a lot of time to explain me everything about the history of the temple and the stunning paintings inside. He also explained a lot about Buddhism in general and patiently answered all my questions. I had a lovely time and learned so much thanks to him. I highly recommend to visit the temple and if you are as lucky as me you might meet Veerayuth as well.

I accidentally stumbled across this temple in Chiang Mai, but it is absolutely stunning and definitely worth a visit! An educational experience, if interested, as a volunteer explained different styles of Buddhist meditation. Hope to go back again!

This is not a typical tourist temple which has many fancy statues. It is quite small but it has its own history to tell. Met a friendly volunteer working there and we talked for quite some times about Buddhism principles and difference between southern and northern Buddhism. It is quite pleasant to just go there and enjoy the atmosphere. I particular like the wall printings which depict the journal of Buddha. I strongly recommend people to visit.

I went in the night, and the view was different from what you see in the day.

Beautiful and peaceful place. An ancient temple with a stunning wood carving and a smiling buddha inside. Meditation center nearby. I recommend to visit.

One of the cutest and nicest temple in Chiang Mai, and "V" (pardon me for the name that is probably written differently!) is a Buddhist volunteer that is there to answer to all your questions and curiosities! Meditation is included. Very much recommended

This is a smaller wat, with a large white Buddha statue with naga dragons in the yard. There are beautiful paintings inside, and several crystal or glass seated Buddhas. There is a chedi and small cemetery in the back. Come in the morning if possible, because like most wats, the entrance faces sunrise and catches the light best. Beware of the mean dogs that live in back. They are loose, with no collars or leashes, and the lady was trying to restrain them with her bare hands - one nipped my leg anyway.

This temple is in the center of the city, the temple is not very large, but it is a beautiful and peaceful. The prominent point in front of the temple is a large Bodhi tree that is worshiped by visitors. You come to Chiang Mai, this temple is another temple that you should not miss to visit.
