The hotel is now managed under a new owner not long ago, and l saw a lot of improvement since my last stay. I was impressed with the hotel staff, and the room is clean beyond my expectations, especially since the bed is very comfortable. I used the pool to cool myself down after a long day of sightseeing and ate some excellent food in the area. The weekend market is only 15 minutes away on foot. They are many local vendors that sell traditional local handcrafted. The airport is just 15 minutes away. For the value, l am going to stay here next time in Chiang Mai again.

We arrived around 8pm, having advised hotel in advance only to find no rooms were ready due to "lots of people checking out today". We eventually decided to go and get something to eat until we could check in. Several other people were also having the same problem. The rooms were very tired looking and looked nothing like the photos. The pool area was in the shade for most of the day, had 2 sunbeds! - and the area surrounding it was filthy. The wifi was useless - too slow to even load a page most of the time. We had to ask the night manager to stop using his phone on speaker right outside our room at night! The breakfast was awful - the fried eggs were rock hard and stone cold and the rest was just salad, Thai food (which I love, but just don't want for breakfast) and salad. It was about a 20 minute walk away from the old town so quite a good location but that was just about all it had going for it. We booked 7 nights and checked out after 2 - no refund given.

They could not find our booking when we arrived. It took them 1 hour to find us a room and when we got to the room, it turned out they had just given us a smaller room than what we had booked without telling us. After notifying them again of the situation and waiting for another 20 minutes, finally they were able to give us a room of the correct size. No idea why it took them so much time? We spent half of our afternoon just waiting for them to find us the room we booked in advance... Location was good. Service was horrible. Rooms were mediocre. Like other reviews said, very old infrastructure and furniture.

Very central to a lot of the tourist spots in the old City. Language is a bit of a problem but the staff are helpful and accommodating. The rooms facing the road are a bit noisy but the rooms facing the rear are good. Spacious rooms, good choice for breakfast. The Restaurant has live music in the evening. The travel desk is good, the person in charge takes time to understand your needs and the recommendations made are Good. There is a tea and coffee service in the room but you need to ask for replinishments.

Moderately priced older hotel. Rooms are fairly spacious. Try to get rooms away from the street. Breakfast buffet used to be available but shut down for now unfortunately.

Came to this hotel during a study abroad over the summer. Staff was very helpful, rooms were clean, and the restaurant served good food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I really wish we could give half stars, because it’s really a 2.5. The breakfast is ok, I’ve had better and worse in Thailand. The rooms are good size and the beds are not bad (for thai standard, not western) but the bathrooms are brutal. The showers are below acceptable quality and as a whole, not clean. The pool is useless and the β€œgym” looks abandoned. The location, cost and the fact that it has easy parking give it some points. If you are looking to save some money or travel with a family and want rooms with a connecting door. This is a decent option. But if you want quality- move on to another option.

15 minutes (walking) away from tha phae gate. The room is nice size. Could use some updating the wall paper, lamps and shower heads. The water temperature is lukewarm. They could do something about the water temperature. Other than that the house cleaning service is good. Breakfast was good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Looking for some place decent and reasonable definitely recommend this location.

Even though the staff was always very helpful and kind, I unfortunately have to say that I would not recommend staying here. When we arrived to our booked room (double bed), we received a room in which the sheets and pillows had stains and the AC was dripping water. There also was an unidentifiable spot on one of the towels (most likely blood). Once we complained about it though, we immediately got upgraded to a bigger room (one king size, one small bed), which was cleaner. The whole building (second floor and up) has a weird smell though, most likely because there are no windows in the hallway (didn’t see any at least). The rooms are very old-fashioned and could be renovated, especially the bathroom was not that nice. The breakfast was quite okay with fresh fruit, salad, bread, eggs, coffee, tea etc., but the WiFi didn’t work for me. Taking into account the price, I think it’s a fair deal for people who are looking to rather spend their money in the city than for a hotel and who only come to sleep and have breakfast here. For this the location of the hotel is great by the way, the Old Town is only a ten minute walk away.

Due to covid seems like they don't care. Not clean (wife broke out in a rash), aircon not working from 4pm to 9am room temp was 28Β°C whole time but aircon was set at 18Β°C. Pool dirty, stairway to undercover parking locked with chain and padlock. Tv remote broke, tv channels not clear at all. I don't like giving bad reviews but for 500baht could have found way better and cleaner with a nicer feel and look.

Very good location, right on the Main Street and not far from the center. Quite close to Jing Jai market (famous for handicrafts and design objects) Good service, staff are always helpful. Breakfast and meals - delicious and great variety. Room is spacious, generous amenities with good quality. What I like most is the friendly and cozy atmosphere, especially the Rooftop and Palm Tree restaurants where full service of karaoke and professional dance floor are provided.

I stayed 17 nights at the hotel. The room is clean and comfortable. The atmosphere at the hotel is very friendly and relaxing. Staff is very helpful. The hotel is near to several attractions and the market. Management is very much people oriented and always available at the reception to ensure clients are comfortable. In the evenings, we enjoyed live music at the hotel. My experience in chiang mai was very good, thanks to Royal Peninsula Hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.
